This is the thread for daily opening of the H&B advent calendar. As with all the threads, the only firm rule is not discussing a drawer's contents before the day. The usual timeline is no spoilers before 7am but we can agree a different time if people want to.

Let the games begin!!!!

There'll be a glut of rollerballs on Vinted!

Definitely up for doing swaps in January. It's one of my favourite bits of the whole beauty advent thing.

I am really enjoying H&B so far. I love JL too but some of those products are so pricey I'm never going to re-buy but H&B products are much more affordable. I'm already thinking of buying myself a bottle of this body lotion and at £10 full price, it'd be a treat (I normally buy a big bottle of whatever's on offer in Tesco!) but not out of reach.

I just looked this body lotion up and it’s £7.50 for full size on most sites at the moment if you like it!

ChannelLightVessel · 05/12/2024 09:27

I like Q + A, but I never use body lotion, as I’m an oily beast. Would be up for a swap after Christmas if DM/DNs aren’t interested.

DragonsFurry · 05/12/2024 09:44

Damn, I had the H&B advent calender last year and loved it. I meant to get one this year but totally forgot. Does anyone haopen to know I they might still have some in any of their shops?

@BeensOnToost .. thank you so much !

I think I may be relying on you !

Always happy to help where I can. Fwiw, I LOVED the rollerball amd the head massager so that would make a fab stocking filler. I'm loved the eyecream too, I never buy eye cream so it's a real treat x

narniabusiness · 05/12/2024 16:18

I’ve not opened the body lotion as it has a seal on it and I’ve already got three on the go. I like to mix it up 😜. The scent sounds lovely from the description though.

sharpclawedkitten · 05/12/2024 17:47

I have a H&B calendar but I went through it last month and took everything out that I knew I wouldn't use and donated them to a couple of different charities.

But somehow I missed today's item as I don't usually go for body lotion but as people have said it has a lovely scent I will try it.

ChannelLightVessel · 05/12/2024 18:33

Sorry @DragonsFurry I think they sold out a while ago. I believe Vogue is still available Xmas Grin

iridescentsnowflake · 05/12/2024 21:43

Today I washed my hair and used the scalp massager!

I also used the eye serum and body lotion. The body lotion smells great though it soaked into my dry skin really quickly so I used loads.

I forgot to use the rollerball though!

Roxie99 · 06/12/2024 07:28

Today's treat! I have used this some years ago. If you have super oily skin it may make it oilier and last time it stung my eyes slightly but they may have changed formulas over the years! This one is good for a gift too/part of. Happy Friday!

Sorry picture didn't come out great did it at 530am !
It's the super facialist vitamin C+ superglow cleansing oil! Still haven't washed my hair to use the scalp massager but will tomorrow!

CordeliaNaismithVorkosigan · 06/12/2024 07:45

Hmm, I’m practically a walking oil slick so this may not be for me.

narniabusiness · 06/12/2024 07:54

This looks great. I love an oil to milk product. My only quibble is it says to use it as part of a double cleanse and that is too much trouble for me. So I will use it as one cleanse and that will have to do.

bigTillyMint · 06/12/2024 08:40

Yes, I’m not sure I would do a double cleanse regularly - would you use this product twice, or combine 2? But it looks interesting and my skin is quite dry now, so I’ll give it a try!

sharpclawedkitten · 06/12/2024 08:47

I am now wondering if I opened number 9 instead of 6. I have something different. I won't say what it is, but I am happy with it.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 06/12/2024 09:05

I haven't managed to read the instructions (need to bring my glasses upstairs) but yeah, I would never be bothered with a double cleanse. One cleanse is plenty.

My preference is cleansing balm but I do like a cleansing oil too so I'm happy with this.

I always double cleanse if I wear makeup. I like a cleansing balm or oil first and then use a foaming cleanser to get rid of any residue.
I'm pleased with today's. My skin seems to like vitamin C at the moment so happy to add this into the mix!

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 06/12/2024 09:18

Used the body lotion last night ahead of a Christmas party ... thought as it's ceramide it may help my neck and décolletage area look less crepey ...

Lord it smells amazing! Like a high end fragrance almost! Went on nicely and my skin looked good too.

Think I'll definitely purchase this one. When it's on offer obv Grin

Also very happy with today's, this is a product I use daily anyway. I've very reactive skin especially around my eyes and this is one of the few cleansers that doesn't seem to aggravate

I often use this to remove make up or clean my face before showering then use a gentle foaming one in the shower.

However if I'm just removing make up before bed I just use the oil and cleanse once. Provided you're not wearing much skin make up anyway I don't think you need to bother with a second cleanse.

O once read that if you ate double cleansing your skin has absolutely no idea what you've used first time so there's no real benefit to using a second product. It all goes down the sink anyway Grin

iridescentsnowflake · 06/12/2024 09:55

I used this cleansing oil years ago and liked it. Not enough to repurchase but I did like it. I tried all the double cleansing thing years ago when I first discovered CH but it made no difference to my skin and I soon went off CH.

This is one I might keep for the spring as I prefer cleansers where no water is required in the winter.

PortiaWithNoBreaks · 06/12/2024 13:34

From reading the thread I just realised I opened the 7th today, so looking forward to opening the 6th when I get home. Looks like a great product.

I read that and decided to use it this morning - I cleansed last night and as I was putting it on my bare face, I figured that's probably about the same 😜

OchonAgusOchonOh · 06/12/2024 23:02

@BeensOnToost sounds reasonable.

Today's product I've never seen or heard of! I'll wait for everyone to get up and look before I spoil it! We've been up most the night due to high winds down south of England!!!

bigTillyMint · 07/12/2024 07:37

I’ve never heard of it before either! I think this may be one to pass on to DD 😀
