Holland & Barrett advent calendar opening thread

This is the thread for daily opening of the H&B advent calendar. As with all the threads, the only firm rule is not discussing a drawer's contents before the day. The usual timeline is no spoilers before 7am but we can agree a different time if people want to.

Let the games begin!!!!

I'm really happy with the rosehip oil today.

Happy Christmas everyone and thanks for sharing.

Me too! I thought it was going to be in a rollerball and I've had this exact product in a rollerball that just did not work so it was a total waste of product. So I was fully expecting this to be a DoD but the fact it's a dropper is a lovely surprise as I can actually use this!
Merry Christmas all!

i’m slightly disappointed to have another oil as the last thing my skin needs is more oil, but I’ve been very pleasantly surprised by the cleansing oil from earlier in the month so will give this one a go. It’s been a great calendar. Thanks for starting the thread, @OchonAgusOchonOh!

bigTillyMint · 25/12/2024 10:01

I’m guessing that as this is a tiny bottle, it should be used sparingly!

Happy Christmas everyone!

Happy Christmas everyone!

I would use a couple of drops after moisturiser on my face at night.

On my notes from the box opening I have written...
Rose hip oil
Scars , stretch marks
Wrinkles

So I am presuming this a multi - use oil ?

I can't even feel this one at the moment as I is in the other room under some stuff and visiting ds is asleep in there !!

(My DC's got together and had a late night last night 🤣🤣)

Thank you so much for this thread .

Wishing you all a lovely Christmas and a fantastic and beautiful skinned 2025 !!!

I've actually carried on using the toothpaste - not every day but sometimes. I don't know if my teeth look better or not.

How are people finding their goodies?

OchonAgusOchonOh · 21/01/2025 17:53

I haven't used much of it yet as am finishing off other stuff but have enjoyed everything so far.

I'm still using the toothpaste too. It's lasted well!
My favourite things I've used so far have been the Superfacialist oil, the Evolve moisturiser and the Q&A lotion. I managed to find a full size bottle of the Q&A lotion reduced to clear in Tesco, which I was very happy with!

CordeliaNaismithVorkosigan · 24/01/2025 20:40

I really like the Superfacialist oil, having not expected to, and the Belmond serum is also good. The Evolve stuff is a bit rich for my skin. I also love Faith in Nature products so the shampoo and body wash were great. Haven’t tried anything else yet.

CountryCob · 02/02/2025 08:03

My DD is using the faith in nature shampoo and conditioner and her hairdresser commented that her hair was doing great on it. I like the cleansing oil but its a bit of a faff to use, using the face creams also which are fine but I like thicker creams, the reusable pads are nice too. Overall everything apart from the toothpaste has gone down well here.

greywolfie · 02/02/2025 12:36

Most of the things are getting used (or on the waiting list) but, I had to get rid of the re-usable face pades as I keep catching myself on something sharp on the seam. Perhaps I just get a dodgy pair?
Started the candle last week and it smells of nothing! Like absolutely zero scent.
The head massager thing is sitting on the side of the bath looking a bit redundant.
Loving the serum, starting the cleansing oil tomorrow and really like the evolve cream (even if it does have a chessy whiff some mornings)

greywolfie · 02/02/2025 12:38

Oh and I LOVE the wristbands! Game-changer 😁

bigTillyMint · 02/02/2025 18:01

@greywolfie, I was just thinking last night about how I had changed my mind on the wristbands - when I opened that box, I thought WTAF, but they are great 🤣

Roundaboot · 03/02/2025 09:53

I was excited for the wristbands and they are everything I dreamed they would be! No more soggy dressing gown sleeves!

EBoo80 · 12/02/2025 13:22

Realised I’ve now repurchased two things from this advent calendar which is a record I think. The ceramide body lotion and the wella cleansing balm. Super happy with the wella
especially as it’s replacing the £££ elemis one I was using.
wrist bands continuing to delight me and amuse anyone who sees me in them…

OchonAgusOchonOh · 12/02/2025 13:58

I have found the biotin amazing for my nails. I have always had really weak nails and they have toughened up so much since I started using it.

@OchonAgusOchonOh thats good to know - I haven’t tried it yet, but I have weak flakey nails…

OchonAgusOchonOh · 12/02/2025 20:49

@bigTillyMint - I'm assuming it's the biotin anyway. I've also started using a cuticle oil regularly but I can't imagine that would have made this much difference.
