This is the thread for daily opening of the H&B advent calendar. As with all the threads, the only firm rule is not discussing a drawer's contents before the day. The usual timeline is no spoilers before 7am but we can agree a different time if people want to.

Bizzey take care ... I sometimes find that my skin gets like this when the barrier is upset ... depending on whether you have to see many people over the next few days I find when it gets very bad the best thing to do is Leave it Be. It often results in flaky skin and I feel like a lizard but once it's gone through that process it's ok

🤣 well I'm feeling very clever now.

I'm going to put today's treat into my DS stocking as I know this is something he'll use. And since he'll keep it in the shower, I might at some point use it as a body scrub - genuis idea!

I tried the toothpaste today - surprisingly I liked it, it tasted ok! I wouldn’t use it permanently instead of a fluoride toothpaste but I will use it every now and again.

I need to relabel my scalp scrub or I’ll forget my plan!

I am worried about the washing out of it too. I thought about using it as a body scrub but I may wrap it for DH's stocking, as he doesn't have any hair for it to get washed out off.

Hi all, I was hoping this was a face cream just a day one (have we received one of those yet?) I can't remember I know I tried the night cream yesterday felt a bit grainy on my skin though! I've had a head injury recently so will avoid the scalp scrub at the moment!
I've used weleda but not this particular product anyone else?
I also joyously noticed in the kids chocolate calendars it only goes up to 24th but kind H&B are giving us one on Xmas day too as a pressies whooooo!

This is one of the reasons why I bought this calendar! I love this stuff! It's £12.95 full price so excellent value again to get a full size.
@Roxie99 We've had the Evolve day cream. I've not tried it yet though

I am very happy with this! It says you can use it as a nourishing face mask, so I’m going to do that I think.

@Roxie99 yes we have received a day cream as I’m using most things as we get them. I’m using the evolve multipeptide anti ageing cream in the morning. Then I’m using the vitaskin vitamin A night cream at night.

I hadn’t noticed we got something on 25! It’s such a well thought out calendar - my first time getting H&B and I will definitely get one again! I still have the one that’s meant for a gift, I’m tempted to keep it and get the recipient something else 😂

I do like Weleda as a brand and I’ve never tried this before. As I seem to have a few cleansers to use (they seem to come in every GWP) I pleased to see this can be used as a mask.

I have just used the scalp scrub! A bit risky just before the school run but I thought I’d give it a go as I needed to wash my hair anyway. It does feel like sand. I needed quite a bit to get it all over my scalp as my hair is so thick, and I didn’t like massaging it in but then I remembered the scalp massager which worked really well with it! It seems to have come out ok as you shampoo afterwards.

I’ll try it as a body scrub next! I might use it as a scalp scrub every now and again though. My scalp feels invigorated!

I do love a cleansing balm. And I love the brand so really happy with this.

From the sounds of things ...the scalp scrub needs a planned preparation slot 😂

I used the scrub this morning too. DS actually beat me to it though - he's been having issues with a dry flaky scalp and thought I'd bought it for him so helped himself in the shower last night! 😂
We both think it's pretty good. It's scrubby without being too harsh and it does wash out easily, despite the sandy texture. Not sure I'd repurchase for myself but if it helps DS's manky scalp then it's a winner!

Yes @bizzey - also because I had it on my scalp and was reading what to do next (ignoring the sectioning!) when I saw the bit about doing a patch test first! Oops! It was a bit tingly but thankfully all was well! 😂

I said it early doors (see what I did there?' ) that I was excited to do H&B after a few consecutive years of a few high end calendars and M & S Same Old Contents Fatigue (first world problem I know) and I'm really pleased I came back to this one. The range of products on the whole has been good, nice brands and many ones I've not tried yet and generous sizes. It's incredible value for the price point. And a good sold box too!

I was just thinking today on seeing the almost empty box that it will be great storage for some of my crafty stuff!

We used last years two big drawers as storage for art supplies for the kids.

This year I was initially disappointed that the box looked too Chriatmassy to have out on display all year. I've decided instead that I'm going to cut all of the pictures on the individual boxes and use the outside of the carton to make gift tags. We have always recycled Christmas Cards but as people increasingly send fewer our supplies have run a little low.

@starlight36 That's a great idea! I have a stash of old advent calendars in the loft, thinking I might sell but it might actually be better to repurpose them like that.
With this H&B one, I think I probably will use the drawers for storage of Christmas decs

I love a cleansing balm so am looking forward to trying this. I'm going to use up the Superfacialist cleansing oil first though (which I love and have bought before many times)
I've been using the serum, day cream and retinol night cream and really like all of them. Not mad on the scent of the day cream but it is nice and rich without being greasy. I've been so pleased with the contents so far and it's really good value

That is a great idea too. Maybe I'lll do that next year
