I've accidentally gone ginge and I'm so far out of my comfort zone. Do I reach for the bown dye.

So I've been dark dark for a decade. New start new me etc promoted me to reach for the bleach....chicken wine might have been involved. I feel so not me. Do I keep it or go back to the dark side. I feel like I look like a golden retriever but not in a good way.

Yep! I had a bit of a crisis for the first 6 weeks but grew to love it. Bought a lot of navy/royal blue clothes, they compliment ginger really nicely. Honestly I think that it’s beautiful, looks so natural and suits your skin tone + eyes so well. Suits you far better than the dark. You’d be mad to get rid of it - the hairdresser has done a wonderful job. It’s really difficult to make ginger hair dye look as natural as yours x

I did it. Just put bleach on then blonde semi perm. Had a major panic attack half way thru.... hence the chicken wine.
Great advice on the colours. I'm a big navy fan.

The ginger looks much more natural and flattering. You have lovely skin and features, so don’t need as much make up as in the darker photograph.

NewUser1111 · 19/11/2024 19:42

I prefer the ginge too. As a natural ginge I would just say maybe consider some brighter colours for clothes- I don’t tend to wear that colour of beige as it really washes me out. Bright blues, greens, purples are your friend!

I think it's beautiful! When you say bleach do mean bleach or a blonde box dye? Of so which ones did you use? I think it's stunning and suits your completion, looks like a professional job

Excuse to go shopping. Green is my favourite colour 😍

Yeah just bleach powder with developer it went super tango tangerine hell so I put a beige blonde semi perm on from superdrug to calm the fires.

I actually prefer the lighter color on you, its suits your complexion more. The dark looks to harsh.

xyz111 · 19/11/2024 19:48

I really like it!

Redlarge · 19/11/2024 19:49

Thanks so so much everyone I've felt really weird going to work today. You are all so kind thank you

I like it and prefer it to the dark by far!

Yes, when you have a significant colour change you need to tweak colours you wear and make up too, I've found that.

The auburn hair looks lovely! You look fresh and glowing, the dark was harsher imho. I think you need to update your makeup colouring to give you the definition you’d have had with the dark hair.

Fluffywabbits · 19/11/2024 19:54

Camp ginger all the way here too! It really suits you.

CookieMonster28 · 19/11/2024 19:54

Looks amazing. I love it!
Make up gorge too, don't need to change it

The pink one. Le femme something ha. I'm shit at french. From sainsos.

I think you mean La Vieille Ferme? I love their white and red wines, they're delicious. We also call it the chicken wine in this house 😁

...and I love the new hair, by the way, it's much softer and suits you!

Doggymummar · 19/11/2024 19:56

It looks stunning. I know what you mean though having gone from dark to blonde. You will need to make some subtle changes to makeup and what colours you put near your face clothing wise. Luckily it's winter, so a new scarf should do it.

That's the one. Delicious but makes you make drastic decisions 😋

Your new hair colour is softer and lovely.

Tina159 · 19/11/2024 19:59

Wow that's quite a change but I think it looks amazing! Your make up is gorgeous too. The dark hair was a bit too much, this is much more flattering.

I was expecting a horror show when I saw your title!

Wishfives · 19/11/2024 20:01

It's really nice, you have swishy healthy looking hair

Thank you so much. I was feeling stuck in my ways and drab. I felt like I'm too old for the dark like mutton dressed as lamb. And pretty miserable if I'm honest.
