Very excited to be creating this thread to discuss the Pelegrims subscription box - my first one arrived today!

Cleansers and hand creams are probably the items I buy the most, so this month's box was perfect for me. I've started on the hand cream and like that it's not really greasy and it smells lovely. I'm still working my way through my Haeckels cleanser and I'm forcing myself to finish it before I try the Pelegrims one. I do tend to jump from product to product so i'm trying to show some restraint. I'll definitely buy a full size of the hand pomade that was in the little set. It was great on my dried out hands. All lovely and I hope it continues.

Mine still hasn’t come Sad Shipping delays apparently.

The hand cream smells divine @nicnicspicnic like a spa.

Going to start the cleanser tonight as I finished Liz Earle this morning. Wouldn't buy Liz again.

nicnicspicnic · 14/05/2025 12:53

@Cyclingmummy1 I love the hand cream and ended up buying the hand pomade as well - so my hands smell lovely! I'm still working my way through my Haeckels cleanser - and I will not give in - I'm determined to finish it before I try the Pelegrims one. Did anybody manage to order the trial mineral mud mask that we received the email for? I was too slow and missed out.

I missed out on the mud mask too.😢

I did order the exfoliating hand wash with the buy one, get one free offer. Waiting for it to arrive. I used to love the Aesop exfoliating hand wash but got the hump when (1) their prices rocketed and (2) it became ubiquitous. I guess I’m an availability snob as I don’t like buying things that are everywhere. Whisper “limited edition” in my ear and I’m all over it. 🤦‍♀️😂

I’m still finishing my Haeckels face wash but the Pelegrims one has made it to the bathroom shelf in anticipation. Having to be self-disciplined and not start it until the Haeckels one is done. Hope I’m not disappointed when I finally get to it!

I haven’t tried the hand lotion yet (I already have Gloved and Wildsmith ones on the go) but I do use the hand pomade. In fact it makes a wonderful foot cream! That’s my top tip. 😉

I was charged on 30 April but no sign of a box as yet!

Yup. And they haven’t answered my latest email.

Yup. And they haven’t answered my latest email.

That’s not good. They’re usually pretty responsive so maybe they’re short-staffed or something.

I’m still waiting for my order placed a week ago to be despatched which is unusually slow for them.

Finally got it. Going to regift the little travel set to my mum. The hand lotion is lovely.

Cyclingmummy1 · 24/05/2025 09:52

A week into the cleanser and it's ok. It's a bit thin and runny for me, I prefer a balm. But it's the only item so far that hasn't been a hit.

HundredMilesAnHour · 24/05/2025 10:11

Interesting @Cyclingmummy1

I finally started my cleanser/face wash a couple of days ago and I really like it. But I always prefer an actual face wash so it’s perfect for me. If I’m wearing make-up, I use either Algenist Genius balm or Bioderma Sensibio micellar water before using the face wash.

If you like a balm, you might really like the Algenist one. It smells incredible! I used to get it in the US when I was there on business but you can buy it in the UK now:

I've also started using the cleanser. I like it but I use it after using a balm first. I'm currently working my way through a Votary cleansing cream that i'm using as a balm because it's so thick. But I also like and M&S Pure balm. I might have to visit Canterbury once they've opened their shop there.

Cyclingmummy1 · 25/05/2025 19:47

I might try that next @HundredMilesAnHour, thanks.

Anyone else spotted the survey in their emails this evening? There's a reward for the first 100 people to reply.

HundredMilesAnHour · 25/05/2025 23:51

I did the survey and have the reward to spend (ooh, excitement!)

Any recommendations @HundredMilesAnHour ?

I like the look of the SPF and the body cleanser.

nicnicspicnic · 26/05/2025 17:49

I'm a marketing person's dream - got the £25 and ordered some more cleanser and the reduced summer essentials kit. 😀

Snap! I’ve ordered the same too as I really want to try the SPF and the lip balm.

@Cyclingmummy1 The winter kit is really good value. I definitely recommend it. I was tempted to buy another as I was so impressed with the one I bought previously.

I’m very impressed with the savings with their kits. Actually I’m very impressed full stop. Loving everything so far and also feeling like our custom (and opinions) are valued. Slightly embarrassed to say that I’m sniffing my fingers as I type this as I’ve just put the hand pomade on (my hands AND feet!) and I smell so nice. 😂

Edit: no body cleanser for me (yet) as I have a HUGE stash of various adored body washes that I need to work my way through.

OP posts:
Cyclingmummy1 · 27/05/2025 07:57

Thanks both, the kit is a really good call, I hadn't realised the toner was a mist and was going to give it a miss a I've a stack of toner.

And I've ordered the body cleanser - which essentially was free 😉

Laughing because I put the hand cream on my feet last night; I smell like a spa.

Fedupandstressed · 28/05/2025 22:27

I got the Winter survival kit. With the voucher was £45 and I only really wanted it for the facial balm, which is normally over £50. I love putting the balm on just before bed as it makes my skin so soft and smells lush. Then put surplus on my scaly elbows.

Cyclingmummy1 · 08/06/2025 20:02

Muttering to myself: I do not need the mud mask, even if it is in a great value kit just for this week.

HundredMilesAnHour · 09/06/2025 10:43

Hang in there @Cyclingmummy1 😂

For once I’m not actually tempted but only because I tend to do mud masks in winter rather than summer (not entirely sure how my logic works with that one but….)

Contemplating a visit to the new Pelegrims shop later this month as I have family from up North visiting Canterbury (and London) so I may offer my tour guide services as an excuse for a trip to Canterbury (I went to uni there many years ago).

Are you me @Cyclingmummy1 ? 😂 I don't need another mud mask but it's a special offer...! Have Pelegrims given a date for the opening of their Canterbury store? I live quite close and will definitely be popping in. And I feel like I'm being unfaithful but I'm also popping along to the Haeckels event tomorrow in Margate.

HundredMilesAnHour · 09/06/2025 13:01

@nicnicspicnic Pelegrims said ‘soft launch’ in June so hopefully it opens very soon. Not in time for a visit tomorrow though.😜

I much prefer the Margate Haeckels store over the London one. The London one is so tiny and I feel very conspicuous lurking in there. Saying that, I’ve lost interest in the current iteration of Haeckels as it’s gone a bit too woke / hippy dippy for me. I’m a shallow creature at heart.
