Wtf is a "school run dress"?

Do you actually change clothes to drop off/pick up at school?
Who are you trying to impress?
Do you have nothing more important to think about?

no the red print one good and casual (comes with green flowers too) and the black simple one could be dressed down with flip flops etc...

Others a bit more dressy I agree.

FloridaKbear · 22/04/2008 14:04

I bought girl clothes, a dress, two in fact, and sandals.

I might wear sandals today for school run, gently does it and all that.

CeilingCat · 22/04/2008 14:04

too short?

cariboo · 22/04/2008 14:04

Exfolliating first helps. Then rub Nivea milk all over, let it sink in. Then the fake tan. My favourite, after years of stinky orange-skin disasters, is Clarins. But there must be lots that are just as good but cheaper.

stuffitllama · 22/04/2008 14:06

i don't think there are cariboo everyone says clarins is best
you can put it neat on your face and not look like jordan
it's a winner

expatinscotland · 22/04/2008 14:07

I exfoliate. They ALL leave my orange. Can't afford Clarins.

Luckily, however, it's most often too cold to have your legs out here.

MamaG · 22/04/2008 14:07

ooh kbear how exciting! Girl clothes! Have you got your pink thong bikini ready?

cariboo · 22/04/2008 14:07

True. Love it & worth the cost, IMO

expatinscotland · 22/04/2008 14:08

sunbed if i can't get a tan outside here.

i miss getting a light tan.

stuffitllama · 22/04/2008 14:09

expat it's worth it and i'll tell you why
you can wear boring white cheap tshirts and still look super lovely and boring cheap anything and you still look lovely
it saves me money on clothes
true

FloridaKbear · 22/04/2008 14:09

I took back the pink thong bikini and changed it for one of those all in one knitted swimsuits, with stripes, ala 1800s. Much more suitable!

stuffitllama · 22/04/2008 14:10

it gives you a light tan! it gives you a glow

and lasts for ages

it's too pricey, stuffit. it really is.

been here 7 years and have yet to wear shorts.

it's FRREEEZZIINNGGG here!

cariboo · 22/04/2008 14:10

Eat pasta for a week expat & buy the Clarins.

stuffitllama · 22/04/2008 14:11

oh i didn't know you had to get out of jammies for school run

Cappuccino · 22/04/2008 14:11

oh take no notice of them expat

they think everyone lives in Surrey

they do not know chilly

stuffitllama · 22/04/2008 14:13

i think everyone in a school run dress lives in surrey
that IS true

expatinscotland · 22/04/2008 14:13

we already eat on £25-£30/week.

it costs too much.

would rather save for something else.

i mean, seriously, it's self tanner.

go outside and do some gardening. get a light tan.

expatinscotland · 22/04/2008 14:14

so true, Cap.

i haven't seen anyone in a dress up here unless it's got boots under it or combined with a jacket with a work blazer underneath.

never seen anyone in shorts - i did see some in Edinburgh sometimes. not often. the two or three days it was warm enough.

stuffitllama · 22/04/2008 14:14

ok i will expat

cariboo · 22/04/2008 14:14

Okay expat. Just remember the sunscreen.

expatinscotland · 22/04/2008 14:15

i go without suncream. nope, don't have any wrinkles, either.

one advantage of olive skin .

it takes a LOT of sun to damage sun skin.

and Scotland ain't got it , especially Western Scotland.

expatinscotland · 22/04/2008 14:16

do people in surrey really buy clothes just to wear on a school run, though?
