Winter boots <sobs>. Need help <sobs harder>

RockyRogue1001 · 28/09/2024 01:50

Please 🙏

I just can't seem to find winter boots which I like and which aren't uncomfortable.

And I like winter boots <bottom lip quivers>

Got a pair of chealseas, which I have to rip off. I got some underlay thing which was recommended, which helps a bit, but they still hurt.

Got some high heeled dms, which I love. They cripple me.

For the love off all things holy.... I just want boots that don't hurt to wear or walk in around the office.
Size 7
Long legs (because short friends say they won't wear ankle boots because it shortens them. Not a problem for me. Love an ankle boot)

I just want comfortable! Black.

Is that a big ask?
P.s. round toe! It seems I am a bit picky after all

Pavers

Happyinarcon · 28/09/2024 04:19

I sometimes buy a size up and use a thick sheepskin inner sole

BabyAllergy101 · 28/09/2024 04:21

Birkenstocks!

Scarydinosaurs · 28/09/2024 04:27

My DM Chelsea’s with a zip at the back have done me well for seven years now. So comfy and go with everything.

PronounsBaby · 28/09/2024 04:57

Just got a pair from fly London and they are perfect

Imatorturedpoet · 28/09/2024 05:23

OP I have the same problem. I have a pair of old lace up Clarks ankle boots I love, but can't find anything now that is comfortable. DMs cripple me too, although I love the way they look. Pavers have nothing decent in this year that are comfy IMO.

SeaToSki · 28/09/2024 05:25

Buy a half size up of boots you love but arent comfy, take out the boots inner sole and replace with a Vionic inner sole

job done

roycroppersshopper · 28/09/2024 05:32

Blundstone with a support insole.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 28/09/2024 05:37

Another vote for trying a foam insole, I get them from Amazon.

PoshMonkey · 28/09/2024 06:08

ECCO are awesome.

IngenTing · 28/09/2024 06:14

Maybe not quite what you are after, but I had a pair of winter Converse. Sheepskin inside and black leather outside. They were so beautiful and warm and comfortable. They were also waterproof and stood up against the snow and slush during winters in Stockholm. I would treat the leather every year before winter too, just too keep them in good condition.

They had white laces, but if I wanted a slightly smarter look for a meeting etc, I would change to black laces. Stockholm workplace was quite casual though, so understand Converse might not work for everyone, but could be worth an exploring.

Isometimeswonder · 28/09/2024 06:20

Rieker. They do some similar to classic DMs but are comfy!

Sunshinedahlias · 28/09/2024 06:27

Definitely Pavers. Really nice and rounded. Soft leather and a bit clumpy. Lasted really well and just bought more 2 pairs...!

AllHisCaterpillarFriends · 28/09/2024 06:30

Sketchers? So comfy but not sure you would think them stylish.

Have you got an agricultural a store nearby? My favourite boots (that other people comment) are riding ankle boots.

Crazyeight · 28/09/2024 06:31

Try geox, panama jack, Skechers, fitflop.

MollyRover · 28/09/2024 07:01

Bullboxer do great boots.

Quacking4it · 28/09/2024 07:02

Moshulu

allthemiddlechildrenoftheworld · 28/09/2024 07:26

@RockyRogue1001 you should try going to a countrywear shop!! leather, round toes, good sole with grip, comfy as hell!

MidnightPatrol · 28/09/2024 07:34

Can you describe what exactly is hurting you?

devildeepbluesea · 28/09/2024 07:35

I third Pavers. My feet are utterly wrecked ((bunions living their best life) and I can only wear boots from Pavers.

waltzingparrot · 28/09/2024 07:55

Pavers for me too. Just go in and try on loads. I find most are real well padded and comfortable.

NotMilanese · 28/09/2024 07:58

OP, I am in the exact same position. I had a Pavers pair for a long time but sadly nothing this year is comfortable. Have gone back to Clarks but have the same is true there. I've sent so many pairs of boots back this month! Not sure if it's my feet or the manufacturers, but everything seems narrower around the toe box this year, even if I buy wide/size up. For those recommending an agricultural shop(@AllHisCaterpillarFriends @allthemiddlechildrenoftheworld ), do you have any links to an online source? I'm in London!

wonderingwhatlifemeans · 28/09/2024 08:01

Bareback boots are incredibly comfortable and have a good return policy.

Summerhillsquare · 28/09/2024 08:07

I was seriously tempted by the ones in the Clarks outlet the other day.

UnbeatenMum · 28/09/2024 08:10

Flat DMs? I've got a Winter pair and they're great. Was thinking of trying Skechers as I find their trainers good. I've also got UGGs but they're only for dry weather really.
