I’ve got a birthday just before Christmas and have splurged on the Harrods Beauty calendar for that. Then I went slightly crazy and ordered the Liberty one as my Christmas present. And then madness struck reading this thread and I signed up for the waitlist for SpaceNK and couldn’t resist when the 8am email came through. I love, love, love this thread but next year I need to ban myself from reading it! I’ve got JL vouchers but please help me not to buy that too!!

I dunno @Biscuitburglar, we wouldn't like to see those JL vouchers collecting dust when they could be put to good use...

MidnightMeltdown · 14/09/2024 00:12

Glad to hear that everyone has finally got their Harrods Fragrance 🎉

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 14/09/2024 00:19

I’ve been very restrained this year. After losing my advent calendar virginity last year, together with my mind, I bought six calendars. This year I’ve bought Harrods beauty and am awaiting the No 7 Ultimate Beauty and that will be my lot for 2024. However, I’ve just ordered the Sunday Riley Superstars Kit as it contains four items that I really want so no wastage. I still haunt this thread and online unboxings though as I seem to be addicted. 😱😂

Twinsandsome · 14/09/2024 07:04

Can anyone remember from last year or the year before an amazing product from the liberty calander that we all raved about? I want to see if I can find it on vinted or eBay for one of my replacing drawers. I just remember that most people loved it and it was a pleasant surprise and it might have been an all in one type product? X

Topsyturvey10 · 14/09/2024 07:19

I'm thinking of getting my mum a No7 advent this year, is there a specific skincare one coming as she doesn't use very much makeup but loves skincare. If so do you wise people know when it's released?

For myself I was pondering Elemis as a change from Space NK, Liberty and M&S which I've had previously.

Sunnydaysarehereonceagain · 14/09/2024 08:08

@Twinsandsome was it the Ven skincare all-in-one? Something like that anyway. I remember that it was lovely, but I’ve never repurchased. Maybe spendy +++

No7 is out 2nd October but if you sign up to the waitlist you will get an email on the 1st. As far as I know there are 2 - one with full sizes and another with small sizes. I think they both contain some make up but the details haven't been fully revealed.

That’s it’s @Sunnydaysarehereonceagain I will look at it this evening and hope I can get a wee tube I remember loving it at the time but that’s likely why I didn’t repurchase x

Sounds interesting! Do you remember the exact name?

Isabelle70 · 14/09/2024 09:33

@Twinsandsome yes it was the Venn vitamin B Activated. I picked up a few from eBay for around £13 at the time.

Twinsandsome · 14/09/2024 09:51

Oh brilliant I hope I can get them round that price as I want to add a few things I really love and havent had in a while to my calander thanks @Isabelle70 and I’m so glad you got your calander x

Hi,

It was me who flagged up the Escentuals 25% off deal earlier, but unfortunately, I didn’t realise it was a French company and there are extra charges for UK customers after Brexit: VAT plus any other import duties. I found this in the shipping details today:

Due to Brexit, from 1st January 2021, all shipments will be shipped upon a DDU (delivery duty unpaid) basis. This means you, the buyer, WILL be liable to pay local sales taxes and customs duties on your order. You will need to pay these costs to release your order from customs before it is delivered to you.
All prices quoted for delivery to outside of the UK do not include VAT, this will be charged upon delivery of your order.

I am really sorry I didn’t have the full information earlier.

I'm following you around @IlovePond 😁

I think you may have misread that. It's those of us outside the UK who will be hit with the brexit tax.

Thanks @OchonAgusOchonOh ! I have read the shipping details again and you are right - I just panicked! I can’t edit my post so have asked MN to remove it. Thanks so much x

Sorry for the duplication - meant to post on this thread but posted on the old thread by mistake.

After excitedly waiting for the postman to come this morning with my Space NK calendar, I have unboxed it with my 11 year old daughter who is very impressed with mummy's new hobby and let's just say it did not disappoint. This is the best so far and I've had harrods liberty and next to compare it to.

It's low on fragrance so maybe not one if you are a fragrance lover although I am hoping they do a 12 days of fragrance box again like last year so that may be why. Aside from that, loads of great skincare from the top brands. Not too many serums - seems fairly balanced between cleanser/moisturiser/serum etc and also has a sunday riley facial oil in there.

Good mix of makeup including charlotte tilbury, rare beauty, lisa eldridge

My only complaint is there a couple of high suncreen type things which isn't very autumnal - I guess they are thinking people will save them up to use in summer. I don't really need high SPF in this country as I have naturally dark skin so will probably save those for my very pale skinned hubby.

Unexpected treat the space NK nordic body wash which smells divine and will be making its way to the bathroom shelf immediately

All in all a massive improvement on previous years and if I'm honest the best advent calendar I've ever seen

Get your hands on one if you are dithering!

@OchonAgusOchonOh - where in Ireland are you? You can PM me if you prefer not to put it on here. I will be coming over at the end of October and if you are in Dublin or Meath areas I am happy to bring an advent calendar over for you. I’ll be bringing an almost empty suitcase over as am going to the US from Dublin after a few days there with family.

That's really nice of you. Unfortunately nowhere near Dublin or Meath.

Peridot1 · 14/09/2024 12:15

That’s a shame. I suddenly thought of it last night so thought I’d ask,

Ilikeyoursleeves · 14/09/2024 12:16

Just joining this after the fun of last years thread! I'm tempted by Liberty and Space NK but part of me fancies going all out for Vogue as it looks beautiful!

Does anyone have any good articles to compare them all?

It was lovely of you to offer💜

At least I have my H&B and as I haven't been spendy on that, I'm currently trawling the Lego site to see what I will get to add to my Christmas village. It's currently a hamlet and I'm planning an upgrade to village.

Ilikeyoursleeves · 14/09/2024 12:20

Actually I've just looked at the Vogues contents and not into getting playing cards and earrings I wouldn't wear etc. So that one is out!

Ahh thank you for posting this!!

I dithered for ages before ordering Space NK last week so I’m really pleased I made the right decision!

My 8 year old went through my LF calendar last year and gave me “hints” about what was in it. I didn’t have any surprises but she had a great time!

virgocatlover · 14/09/2024 12:30

What does everyone think of this one beautyadventcalendar.net/revolve-beauty-advent-calendar-2024/

I could be tempted if it came down in price a bit.

Ooh looks good Virgo.

You ladies are a bad influence on me. I’ve already got the H&B and I’ve now just ordered the Liz Earle 12 days.
