I sent a filled Hourglass shopping basket with a discount code to DH as my birthday present request (as I wanted the primer sample). I have no idea what happened to it. He definitely won’t have any sense of things going out of stock…

Any suggestions for some male advents or 12 days ones?
I have looked at Flannels, Liberty and Look Fantastic xx

I got the Lynx one. It's a beast.

MiaN · 29/09/2024 17:32

Had a look at Molton Brown but with only 6*7.5ml perfume is not for me. Good deal for those looking fore variety of body products

MiaN · 29/09/2024 18:25

Also I went to Space Nk and tried few of the perfumes in the advent and I am going to buy it. I really do not enjoy the one that is very like santal 33 but cheaper smelling but the rest offer good variety. Even with 6 that are skin like!

I haven't been tempted by any of the beauty advent calendars this year - but have ordered the Degustabox calendar after hearing about it on the threads for the last couple of years.

Any offers on hourglass palettes?

Harrods have 10% off this weekend for rewards customers and if you spend £150 on Hourglass you get a mini Hourglass GWP set. They have a limited selection compared to other sites but do have the palettes, only the evil eye brush though.

Only a few hours left of the 10% offer. I'm guessing it finishes at midnight.

MidnightMeltdown · 29/09/2024 19:00

I've had a text from Royal Mail to say that my Space NK calendar ordered on the 10th will be delivered on Tuesday.

Hopefully others left waiting have had one too

MyStylish40s · 29/09/2024 19:23

I’m happy that the other Space NK September 10th orders are being sent out, and it gives me hope that mine will too.

I’ve just checked its status, and the order still says “new”, so nothing yet.

I think it will be made for you! It will be out October 17. Scroll down to see the content of the fragrance version

The honey & tobacco one is so interesting but historically I like scents with tabaco on others but I can not handle them myself.

Edited

Thank you (to all who replied). Looks good to me :)

Mine says "new" as well.
Hoping that Monday will bring an update of dispatched 🤞

My House of Fraser Christmas box arrived yesterday. Quite impressed at the contents for £69. 3 mini perfumes, a CT collagen lip bath, MAC lip pencil, olaplex 3 and Fresh soy cleanser and a Denoba mini eye palette were top picks.

virgocatlover · 29/09/2024 21:01

Is anyone getting No7? I was considering it but now I'm not sure. About 13 products have been revealed and they're a bit meh/ samey, and the price has gone up to £60.

Last year they did a special offer which meant you got a full size future renew product when you bought the calendar if you were one of the first x number of people to order . I'm not sure if they're doing it this year but that was a good incentive.

I might do - I do like future renew but then, there are offers on it most of the time.

I've obviously been living under a rock as hadnt heard of beauty advent calendars until I stumbled across this thread and have now ordered my first advent calendars: harrods and space nk (luckily received without any issues). You would think two would be more than enough but Ive now got my eye on the Liberty and Cult Beauty calendar. Does anyone think these may be reduced? I really shouldnt buy anymore and cant justify the full price but equally I dont want to miss out and they sell out.

pinkchampagne1 · 29/09/2024 21:36

There is a code which reduces Cult Beauty to £211

I can’t answer re reductions as am also new to beauty advent calendars this year.
I bought Liberty, Harrods and LookFantastic, I had Space NK on order but cancelled it after I listed all the products from the other 3 calendars and worked out what I still wanted/needed and then compared Space NK, Sephora and John Lewis…turns out I only wanted/needed a few products which I got from Vinted and eBay.

It's impossible to say. I've never known Liberty to be reduced. I think that there was some reduction on Cult Beauty last year, although it was possibly via a code.

That said, it looks as though that CB scent with love version has already sold out (although they may restock). Now that Space NK has gone, it's possible that CB will sell quicker as disappointed customers look for an alternative.

I'm intrigued to see what sells out next. I think that John Lewis may do well.

pinkchampagne1 · 29/09/2024 22:46

I can’t believe 2 calendars have completely sold out in September. I think it was late October before they started selling out last year

OchonAgusOchonOh · 29/09/2024 22:52

I was planning on getting a second calendar but nothing is really appealing. I think part of the problem is I really don't want makeup and they all have a good bit. The boots skincare only one is pretty rubbish (3 fake tans?) so that's out.

I would really like a k beauty one but yes style and stylevena are too makeup heavy. There are about 10 drawers in each that I'm not interested in.

So decision made - I'm going to order various k beauty bits that I know I like and that I'd like to try and then get dd to fill an old calendar with them for me.

Yes, two years ago Harrods got reduced and the contents wasn't vastly different to this year. I guess that more people are becoming aware of them now, and maybe it's partly down to the cost of living crisis easing off.

I also think that they're becoming more popular with overseas buyers, so calendars that ship internationally do well. Harrods seems to be popular with US and Australian buyers. I'm not sure to what extent they have separate stock for international buyers.

Do Harrods ship the advent calendar to the US and Aus? I wonder why they won't ship it to Ireland then?

MidnightMeltdown · 29/09/2024 23:25

@OchonAgusOchonOh

Yes they do as I've seen unboxings on YouTube from US buyers who said that it arrived quickly despite shipping from the UK. I'm not sure why, but from comments I've seen on YouTube in the past, there seems to be issues shipping to Europe, but not further afield. It must have something to do with the complexities of EU red tape I imagine.

That's interesting. I wouldn't have thought it would matter as I thought international was international, particularly as other companies (e.g. Liberty) can ship to the EU so it's not due to the type of contents as they are similar.

I got an email from Cult Beauty this evening saying the advent was now low in stock so if you want it, I wouldn’t wait.

MidnightMeltdown · 30/09/2024 00:17

@OchonAgusOchonOh

Yes, it's odd. You would have thought that it would be cheaper for businesses to ship to the EU than to the USA and Australia, but maybe it's not. I assume that it must have something to do with the trade agreement. Either it's costly to ship to the EU, or more likely, it's paperwork/admin heavy (which is also costly to a business).

I have heard business grumbling about how complicated it is to ship to the EU now, but I don't know what the specific issues are.
