The perfect ankle boots

I'm on the hunt for the perfect ankle boots but have yet to strike gold and hoping Mumsnet might be able to help! I usually spend my autumn/winter in DM boots but looking for something different to change things up a bit. Key criteria are they have to be comfy enough to wear all day, with a bit of a heel but no more than 2", and I'd like to be able to wear them with jeans and skirts/dresses. Budget is up to £150ish but that could shift for the right pair! I quite like western style and quite like the idea of brown suede (definitely not black). I've been looking at Ash but not entirely convinced so looking for other options and would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks in advance!

I seem to remember FatFace doing nice ankle boots last year

WavesAndSmile · 12/09/2024 09:32

I got something similar from the all saints sale a few years back. Probably via brand alley or tk maxx - it’s rare I shop all saints direct.

You might find something suitable and barely worn via vinted

I'm on the same hunt. Have a look at Rocket Dog - I've got and old pair and they are super comfy. * *

Thanks for the suggestions! All really helpful but I'm still hunting for the perfect pair. I've honed the search a bit and am looking at either western style or heeled Chelsea boots - in dark brown leather or suede - definitely leather not faux. I also know I definitely want a bit of a heel rather than completely flat, but no higher than 2". It doesn't sound like an impossible find to me and I've found a few options but just don't love any of them and I want to really love them - but maybe I'm just fussy!

Try moshulu

I should also say I'm a UK size 8 which does limit options!!

I’ve just bought these, they are the most
comfy boots I have ever worn

SocksAndTheCity · 14/09/2024 16:10

My Chloé Susanna ankle boots are the most comfortable I've ever owned outwith UGGs, but they're not to everybody's taste and they're also not cheap.

They have a wide range of sizes and last a very long time though - I've probably got the cost per wear down to about 50p over the last 10-12 years or whatever it is Smile

H&M i just bought a pair, not the cheapest but good quality.

MrsEmmelinePankhurst · 14/09/2024 19:49

These are low-calf rather than ankle height, but they are lovely and really comfy(I have them in black from last year) and they go with trousers, jeans, leggings, skirts and dresses…. https://www.modainpelle.com/search/giellen

Try carvella, I have a black pair like you describe they are the most comfortable boots I’ve ever owned, this will be their 4th autumn and they still look like new.

OolongTeaDrinker · 14/09/2024 20:28

How about these?

I second Moda In Pelle.
They do some western style ones too... I have some with sparkle but they do plain too. Some nice colours too.

Tulipvase · 15/09/2024 10:31

I can’t really suggest anything, I’ve just bought a pair of suede Celt and co boots but not worn them.

I would be wary of fatface boots though if my last pair are anything to go by.

Great find! They don't fit OP's brief, but I've ordered a pair thanks 😁
