What’s this shoe trend? Medieval jester?

I do love browsing the latest trends to see what people are wearing but I’m seriously struggling to understand when/how medieval inspired shoes came into fashion. Anybody get this? I can’t decide whether I hate them or not - the Khaite ones seem to be selling out super fast 😂

One of my friends at school {Francesca if you are reading this I have never forgotten the horror!} was kicking through early autumn leaves in her open toe ''play deck'' sandals and got a dog turn caught between her toes and the base of the sandal...

I had a couple of pairs of boots in the early noughties that had very pointy tips. Karen Millen and a pair of gorgeous pink suede knee highs from Blue Velvet but sadly I've not been able to wear them for years as the pointy toe has dated... So if the trend comes back I'll be happy to get some more wear out of them!!!

I loved Playdeck sandals. Bought a new pair once a year and wore them constantly all summer until they fell apart. I think they were Clark's.

DH had a pair of winklepickers in the '60s. Elastic sided Beatle Boots.

Yes I used to have these in the 90’s. Really quite uncomfortable but all the fashion. Slung them in the back of my wardrobe and found them a few years ago. They looked ridiculous. Should have kept them 🤣
These pointy boots come round every 30 years I find. They were really popular in the 60’s too

I loathe pointy shoes of any variety. Always have. Either it’s going to make your foot look two inches longer than it is, or it’s going to cripple your toes into bunion territory.

I don’t get the hate- they don’t seem remarkable in any way to me, but I’m an old goth who still wears winkle pickers and pikes lol

I feel my toes would be happier toes with these ...
