What autumn jackets do you have?

Looking for some inspiration (and pure nosiness as well!) and wondering what everybody else has in their autumn jacket collection?

I have the ubiquitous denim jacket and biker jacket. Also a couple of blazer type coats (one brown plaid and one olive green) and a lovely cropped mink coloured suedette shacket. Then my Orla Kiely waterproof jacket for rainy days.
Am currently toying with the idea of a short teddy fleece coat as they look very cosy....

How about you?

Leather AllSaints biker jacket from days of yore (it's 8 years old but is the Cargo, that they still sell). I also have a Seasalt Lill Cove coat.

That's pretty much it. The autumn window is pretty short before I move into my floor-length rugby-mum coat and my wool Burberry one!

I’m looking for a navy wool bomber jacket to add to my wardrobe.
M&S have a nice cream ready style bomber You may like.

NewspaperDoll · 07/09/2024 10:13

Denim jacket, navy quilted bomber, and a Rains navy raincoat see me through autumn.

@Longhotsummers Massimo Dutti had nice wool bombers last year so they might be worth a look.

I love a jacket and probably have too many! Classic denim jacket, a blue utility style Baukjen jacket, a short lightly quilted khaki jacket/short trench from Cos (which I dithered over buying and have ended up wearing so often). Khaki jeans style jacket (Baukjen again)

Hobbs Ashlee suede jacket, boxy grey wool jacket (Cos again - I wore it constantly last Autumn, early winter and spring). Grey hooded jersey jacket from Varley. For a bit more formality I have one of the Whistles slim jersey jackets in black - they go with everything.

I recently order this Marks jacket and it's gorgeous, looks much more expensive than it is but it's been too warm to wear it as yet. I really, really love jackets and coats.

I forgot - I bought a Zara black wool cape! I don't exactly know how I'm going to make it work yet...

Niftythrifter · 07/09/2024 15:54

Topshop Khaki cotton parka ( also second hand)

I love the cropped trench... and have found myself accumulating 3 lately. One is a cropped denim type, second is a mid length leather and the third is a black plain crop one. I love jackets, I sadly don't get the chance to wear them very often as I usually miss the 'jacket period' and go straight to winter coat!

Classic: leather jacket, blazer, utility jacket, trench coat, rain cape...
I also have a big, chunky, quilted hanten / kimono, it's so cosy, I have a small skinny dog and he loves to hide in it when we're out and about.
Overall, as I'm pretty petite, I love to wear chunky / oversized stuff.

1 black leather biker, 1 cream leather biker and one green faux suede biker. Had all for years now. When it's wet I wear my waterproof Superdry jacket which has a lovely fleece lining.

I also have a jacket from Joe Browns which has a faux waistcoat and big military style buttons.

Come winter it's a knee length black wool coat and my big Fat Face puffer (so warm as it's old so is feather and down and not fake feather and down like the newer ones).

GreenPoppy · 08/09/2024 07:41

Quilted jacket from Zara. I love it, it's so comfy and soft.

GenAvocadoOnToast · 08/09/2024 09:10

I have a tweed wool blazer from Massimo Dutti. I found it in TK Maxx last Spring, just as the weather was warming up so I didn't get much of a chance to wear it. Looking forward to getting it out again hopefully not moth eaten

I also have a leather biker jacket I've had for years but it's not really my style anymore.

GettingStuffed · 08/09/2024 09:15

2 waterproof coats, one from Mountain Warehouse and the other from Weird Fish. Denim Jacket, trench coat, unfortunately missing it's belt. 2 padded coats one long one short for colder days.

I have far too many coats.

Barneys leather jacket
Cropped trench Abercrombie
&Other stories wool shacket
Didrikson's raincoat

dudsville · 08/09/2024 13:23

I'm not one for the traditional denim and biker jackets. I have a few seriously thick oversized cardigans, one even has side entry pockets and is shaped like a bomber. I have a couple of overshirts in a thick cotton flannel. And then a denim jacket (not the traditional shape) and a corduroy jacket, both mid century vibes. Can't wait to get into them.

I forgot - I bought a Zara black wool cape! I don't exactly know how I'm going to make it work yet...

Years ago I bought a black cape in M&S , I thought I'd swish along like my very own Scottish Widows advert . Though mine didn't have a hood .
It had fur on the neck and edges of the sleeves (wide batwingy type )

It sat in my wardrobe for a couple of years , then i took it to a clothes repairer , but to take the fur off and have it hemmed would've cost more that the original item.....so I put it into the Charity shop .
Maybe someone is swishing about in it now ?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/09/2024 15:58

In my wardrobe

denim jacket (M&S)
chocolate brown long fleece coat
black long fleece coat
blue./grey short fleece
navy waterproof
black cotton utility/parka jacker , H&M bought it years ago and thought I'd lost it

Nothing new this year

gardenmusic · 08/09/2024 16:13

Longer Joules waterproof (and it is, very) which is light grey and really just a shell, no warmth, a pink and grey Craghoppers windproof and waterproof shorter jacket, a Landsend down filled jacket in an orangy shade, ditto silvery grey, and a quilted cotton jungle patten ( reversible to plain fuchsia) hip length jacket, which is more dressy for going out, rather than everyday.
I also have winter coats, and I will cull them this year.
