For NIVEA, skin always comes first. We are dedicated to our consumers and their skin, but at the same time, it’s our responsibility to contribute to a more sustainable future.
This year, the formula of our NIVEA Soft has been evolved/sustainably improved and now contains 95% naturally derived ingredients and is 98% biodegradable. In addition, our formula is produced with 100% electricity from renewable sources.
Thanks to the new formula the carbon footprint of NIVEA Soft is significantly reduced:
- At least 40% CO2 emissions reduction related to our ingredients, compared to our previous formula.
- At least 20% CO2 emissions reduction at total product level.
The NIVEA Soft is now also 100% climate neutralized. The term “climate neutralized” means that the remaining emissions of NIVEA Soft, after they have been significantly reduced, are balanced by certified climate projects, such as planting new trees or even entire forests. Only products that have been sustainably improved in their CO2 footprint are selected to be climate-neutralized (meaning remaining emissions are balanced). Check www.nivea.com/climate to learn more.
Rest assured that the new NIVEA Soft formula has been carefully developed and extensively tested in market research surveys and product studies. The naturally-derived ingredients used does however give the formula a slightly different consistency and smell, versus the previous formula, which can affect the skin feel of the product.
We sincerely regret that you dislike the new formula and your feedback is really important to us. All consumer comments are considered when planning and further developing our products. Until then, we hope you will consider giving the new formula another chance, knowing that it is not only good for your skin, but also environmentally friendly.
Nevertheless we have forwarded your request for the reintroduction of the previous formulation that you really enjoyed using to the relevant department for their consideration. We hope that you understand that we unfortunately cannot currently provide you with an outcome regarding your suggestion, but please be assured that your suggestion and feedback will be considered.
