Nivea cream

If any of you are also a fan of nivea cream in the white tub/tube.

The formulation has changed and its rubbish, the new ones say the formula is vegan, the old ones don’t. Where we are lots of shops still have old stock, so if you’re fan get some to tide you over. We’ve bought two blue pots instead of our usual one in case that formulation changes as well.

Thank you, this is disappointing to hear, I love the white one! I will stock up this week, thanks again x

ProvincialLady2024 · 01/09/2024 14:25

Do you mean Nivea soft? I love that cream. What have they done to it?

dreamingofsun · 01/09/2024 14:28

just bought two in superdrug as they were on offer and remembered how much i like it. Cant spot any vegan reference. where is it on the jar as i might stock up on some more and dont want the wrong ones

halava · 01/09/2024 14:30

Oh FGS, why do manufacturers do this to us super fans of Nivea Soft? I'm so in love with this cream that I will be on the hunt tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up.

I think all fans need to email Nivea and ask them to keep the old formula and have a separate vegan option.

Tomorrowisanewday · 01/09/2024 14:36

Oh no - why??!! I've been using this for years, because it's one of the few that doesn't set off my eczema. Why can't they just leave ones that are popular alone?

Its on the lid in a green rectangle that says new vegan formula.

No! Like pp it's the mint thing that doesn't set off my skin.

VanillaImpulse · 01/09/2024 14:59

Max factor changed their facefinity compacts to vegan and they are absolutely shite now! I've been using it for over 20 years and they've lost a customer now. The colours are really orange despite having the same names. The reviews on Boots.com say it all. Not sure why these companies do this.

HaleyBrookeandPeyton · 01/09/2024 15:04

I hate it when companies do this.

A few years ago, liz earle changed something in their face toners that made it really sticky. Lots of people (including me) posted negative reviews about the change on their website & eventually it got too much & they brought back the old formula.

Please contact nivea about it & if they get too many negative posts, they might change their mind like liz earle did.

murasaki · 01/09/2024 15:17

Oh how annoying. I have eczema so if I find something that doesn't irritate, I stick with it. Bastards.

deeahgwitch · 01/09/2024 15:22

Why do companies do this ffs !!!!

If it ain't broke don't fix it !!!

I think they change things because their research and development sections need to be seen to do something 🙄

Tomorrowisanewday · 01/09/2024 16:53

@murasaki exactly same as me. There are some products I've been using for decades for that reason.

longdistanceclaraclara · 01/09/2024 17:02

I've just opened my new tub, it doesn't even smell the same!

coxesorangepippin · 01/09/2024 17:03

Hope they haven't changed the blue one

halava · 01/09/2024 17:26

I really hope they might decide to have an "original" AND a vegan version.

Who do I email about this? 😄

longdistanceclaraclara · 02/09/2024 18:13

I can confirm the new version is sticky and nasty, doesn't smell as good. Not happy. I've just been to Savers and bought the last 4 big tubs they had. It is the only thing that doesn't set my skin off.

halava · 02/09/2024 21:06

This is the email address of the parent company of Nivea products.

I've just sent them a message on their complaints page. Please do the same.

Email: [email protected]

PurpleWhirple · 02/09/2024 21:19

That is so annoying. Nivea soft is brilliant.

Why do they fuck with the formulations to save money, surely it loses them customers

PoliteOtter · 02/09/2024 21:21

Oh no! I love this.

Justdancinginthedark · 02/09/2024 21:22

Awk no! I've extremely bad eczema and it's the only thing that works on my face without being on prescription 😔

halava · 02/09/2024 21:26

Please all you Nivea Soft lovers, get an email off at the address I gave above. There's power in numbers I hope! Worth a shot anyway.

And yes I hate it when the formula of products changes, especially if there's nothing wrong with it in the first place!

MsJacksonIfYoureNasty · 02/09/2024 21:43

Body Shop did this with my favourite satsuma body butter. And as they appear to be ruining all of their products by changing them all to vegan formulations I won’t be buying from them again. To be fair I won’t anyway, because of their views on women but aside from this they almost seem to despise the customers who have been loyal to the brand for many years,

Why do companies change popular products to appeal to a very small demographic? Surely a better option would be to offer the original product, unchanged, and an alternative option for vegans?

Meditationgame · 02/09/2024 21:50

I bet they hike the price up too. Are there any good alternatives out there in a similar price range?

PurpleWhirple · 02/09/2024 22:21

I know it's selfish but I don't care if the vegans can't use Nivea, they can use something else Confused

murasaki · 02/09/2024 23:44

For the eczema sufferers, astra is ok, or was, I don't know if they've changed that too. Not as good, but OK.

Frankly the vegans can do one and leave the basic stuff to those of us that have less choice. I'm sure there are a load of poncy vegan brands out there for them to feel superior about.
