Please help me, I'm going dress blind. I'm on a serious budget - max £200, ideally less. Size 10, 5'9, 35 years old and not huge boobs (and what I have are going to need some help - thanks breastfeeding). I want something I can move around in without being too constricted or tripping over it. I really like this but it's sold out in my size. I like a floaty sleeve and don't like high necks. Any suggestions? Thank you!

I got mine secondhand and put more of the budget into alterations. Look on Vinted and eBay. A proper fit is what makes you look and feel best! To keep alteration costs down, avoid beading and complicated fabric patterns.

I got mine off the sale rail at a local wedding dress shop reduced from a seriously overpriced £1200 to a more reasonable £200. It was two sizes too big but my MIL managed to alter it so that it was a perfect fit.

About 20 + years ago a close relative of mine bought a white bridesmaid dress a fraction of the price of wedding dress and honestly beautiful and no-one was any the wiser. I've just google white bridesmaid dresses and there are an abundance of options that could pass as wedding dresses and all under £200.

My wedding dress was £150 from Hope & Ivy, fluttery sleeves and a lower neck (I had it sewn up a tiny bit). It's gorgeous quality, really comfy and I loved it! https://hopeandivy.co.uk/collections/bridal

Are you in London. Fonthill road in Finsbury park is open on Saturdays.
Famous for occasion wear. But be warned alot of the dresses remind me of those toilet rolls roll holders from back in the day.

Nobody's child or free people etc, filter by white/cream, not strictly "wedding dresses" but plenty of them could definitely work as them

Can you hire one?

Don’t know what style you’re after, but I got mine from here https://britishretro.co.uk/product-category/bridal/ (ignore the blue and scroll down!) and I loved it

My friend got hers on eBay- a charity auction. £75 but over £1k worth dress. It’s worth looking second hand!

if you buy it from monsoon it’s half your budget. I’m a similar 5ft 10 size 10 and would happily wear this

That's a crazy price difference, thank you!

I have been looking on vinted etc but it's so hard to tell without decent pics. And mostly it's just a dress on a hanger 😭

I've worn two bridesmaid dresses from JJs house using the made to measure service, one tulle and lace, the other satin, both were lovely, fit well and were heavy good quality materials, it's usually not much more than their off the peg prices and less likely to need alterations
