Created with my eyes shut as I'm impatiently waiting for my box!

Bit pricy for a gamble eh
Ive got the recent scent kits so have perfume coming out of my ears

nearly61 · 19/12/2024 08:33

Yes it's an odd price point at first glance - way more than I would ever consider in one jump on mixed perfumes but I think the other posters earlier hit the nail on the head with clever timing for the rich but time poor men. My DH is time rich and money poor sadly so it's defo not heading my way any time soon 😂. But might haunt Ebay in the hope somebody hates Dear Polly....😁

narniabusiness · 19/12/2024 08:40

Ha ha definitely aimed at the rich blokes. I can see them in Liberty unable to decide what perfume she would like, and ta da the solution is there - buy the box of different ones.
Im sort of glad I already have the, mostly unused, recent kit and so can find the will power to resist this one. (Although the fragrantia reviews of The Other Room someone shared on the Advent Calendar opening thread have also helped)

BIossomtoes · 19/12/2024 08:47

You’d think a man in that position would have the sense to check out what his partner mainly uses and just buy a huge bottle of that. I wonder how many of these will find their way back to Liberty for an exchange in the new year? I’d definitely be taking it back.

I think a certain subset of rich bloke just likes to throw money at things and assumes a grand gesture (expensive Liberty kit) would be much better received than a single bottle of fragrance.

Have to hand it to Liberty, it’s quite canny of them. Even though I think launching so close to Christmas is a bit stupid and they could have released it slightly earlier to maximise sales.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 28/12/2024 23:35

Looking forward to the January Beauty Drop as not long now.
What do you think we will get?
I think we may get a Hera Reigns or Vine Thief sample.

D20 · 29/12/2024 07:25

I’m thinking maybe something from Liberty - either fragrance or small candle. Did anyone do the questionnaire about candle designs?

I’d love a shimmery bronzer, dry shampoo or shampoo bar. They’ve not put in any Neom yet have they (I missed one drop)? But they have put in Aromatherapy Associates.

narniabusiness · 29/12/2024 08:24

If they are using it to promote new products then we might get something from Caroline Hirons Skin Rocks range. However, Liberty never don’t seem to follow that kind of logic.
I would love a makeup item. I’m a bit bored with what I have but I don’t need anything so I can’t justify buying something. I also love a bath or body product and I’m down to my last four hand creams 😱

D20 · 29/12/2024 08:30

Does anyone know if the Sezane pop up has belts by the way? I’m too far from store and there’s only a limited selection online.

DrunkTinkerbell81 · 29/12/2024 10:00

Hello! I'm a BB subscriber. Although I rarely use anything that comes in the box, they just seem to end up in my cupboard. So I keep thinking maybe I should cancel.

However I have almost £200 in my liberty account and don't know what to spend it on. What do you all spend your balance on??

I did like a perfume but husband bought it for me for my bday.

I have a very expensive mascara habit which brings my balance down regularly. Having said that, I currently have almost £300 credit, due to not wanting this year’s advent calendar, and which I’ll either use for perfume or a piece of jewellery.

DrunkTinkerbell81 · 29/12/2024 10:25

Ooh @BIossomtoes I need a mascara! Thank you! And I've just ordered my friend the lovely pen set for her bday :)

DrunkTinkerbell81 · 29/12/2024 10:27

@BIossomtoes which is your fave mascara??

D20 · 29/12/2024 11:12

@DrunkTinkerbell81 most of my credit has been spent on the husband (Creed Aventus) and a few gifts for others (Iphis clutch, Mother’s Day set, candle) but I have also bought the odd beauty bit for myself. I’ve mostly spent outside of the beauty department to be honest unless for gifts. For me: a much reduced but originally exceptionally expensive soap dish, Liberty print bag, oil diffuser, fabric, clothing, jewellery.

I’m weighing up buying some Monica Vinader jewellery or a Sezane belt with my current balance.

BCSurvivor · 29/12/2024 11:18

Really looking forward to this box, but what I really really don't want is another cleanser, as between the boxes and the kits I am drowning in cleansers!
I'd love another moisturiser, but we've had a few recently.
And a bath oil or serum.

Thanks to numerous GWP and an advent calendar it’s Chantecaille Faux Cils which is over £60. 😱 I buy it when Liberty has a 20% off with my BD credit but it’s still an obscene price, unfortunately it’s the best I’ve ever used by a mile.

I too fell in love with that mascara after getting a sample in an advent calendar/GWP! It’s definitely the best I’ve used, and I’ve tried a fair few. You can sometimes get the duo pack, combined with a discount code, but its still expensive!

I tried the other Chantecaille mascara (cheaper) but it’s not as good as the “longest lash” version.

WhoaJayShettybambalam · 29/12/2024 11:56

My credit usually goes on perfume (Grenado boemia).

Edited

You’re right. I bought the other one by mistake once and it’s nowhere near as good as Faux Cils. I’ve just resigned myself to the cost. At least buying it with BD credit takes a bit of the pain away.

DrunkTinkerbell81 · 29/12/2024 12:20

Oooh thank you! I'm going to order that mascara :)

BIossomtoes · 29/12/2024 13:20

I hope you like it and aren’t cursing me in the new year!

WeAreBorg · 29/12/2024 14:53

I’m looking forward to the drop, I have intense advent calendar withdrawal

I’d like a nice thick hydrating leave on sleeping face mask, my skin is soooo dry. I need mini shampoo and conditioner bottles for my gym bag but I doubt we’ll get those again so soon.

Im intrigued by the ex nihilo perfume everyone was raving about on the advent thread (I didn’t get a Liberty calendar this year but obviously lurked) but again can’t imagine that being in. I have tried Hera reigns - was in the recent scent kit - smells like tar!

WeAreBorg · 29/12/2024 14:54

I now want that mascara even though I have three to use up first

narniabusiness · 29/12/2024 15:20

is it a tubeing mascara? I loved the Trish McEvoy one from the advent calendar a few years back but Liberty are oos of course and I don’t know what to buy instead.

BIossomtoes · 29/12/2024 15:44

Don’t buy it if you like tubing mascara. It’s a conventional formula.
