How many people have the Liberty advent Calendar on here? I’m wondering if it needs its own opening thread, as actually I don’t think that many people bought it?

There is a thread with three comments on it

UntamedShrew · 28/11/2024 23:03

I didn’t get one but am very happy to enjoy it vicariously through those that did! Itll
help me decide if I should get one next year too.

I got my mum one of the Liberty kits in store today - the little hot water bottle is too cute ☺️

You should get one to scratch the itch. I bought one a couple of years ago and none of the premium ones tempt me at all now. I just kept thinking of how many things on my wish list I could have bought with the Beauty Drop credit I used.

Ooh and me for the Liberty advent -can't wait to start opening and seeing what everyone else thinks of the items too!

🎄Liberty London Advent Calendar 2024 Opening Thread

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/styleandbeauty/5220938-liberty-london-advent-calendar-2024-opening-thread

I’ve made a thread in the S&B board as per previous years and @‘d as many people as I could find who said they’d bought it (as well as a couple who said they wanted to follow).

I used the Bamford Jasmine Hand and Body Wash 250ml out of the Founder’s Edit Precious Potions. I really don’t like it! I can’t smell the Jasmine only the citrus. How funny that item was key in my consideration of the edit’s value, and I wasn’t too bothered by the perfume but I love it!

visualfeast · 14/12/2024 11:07

I've just bought something from Liberty using Beauty Drop credit and a Loyalty voucher - the vouchers were correctly applied and the total to pay read £25, but it has charged me the full amount of £125...! I've emailed customer service but am quite annoyed. (I also had issues last time I tried to use BD credit..) Has this happened to anyone else? I think I remember reading about it on here?

SwordBilledHummingbird · 14/12/2024 11:30

@visualfeast Yes, this happened to me a few months ago. Customer services sorted it out for me fairly quickly by refunding the amount that should have been paid by my vouchers and applying it to the vouchers instead. I was pretty impressed with them tbh. I can't remember what the email response was but a customer service rep actually phoned me from the Liberty store to do the refund over the phone. I took the phone number (and checked it) then rang them back as I didn't want to give out my credit card details to someone who'd called me out of the blue. They were very nice and apologetic and the refund went through straight away.

Yes happened to me
They did refund but it was a ball ache

Are we all too busy on the AC threads?

I received an email today about a pricey fragrance edit £425 for £856 value.

I really want to try the new LBTY Fragrance Vine Thief, a strawberry and vanilla scent. Will look out for that in resale.

www.libertylondon.com/uk/the-fragrance-lounge-edit-000833081.html

The Bibbi is the same as in the AC and the Matiere Vanilla Powder is in the recent fragrance edit

10 scents in nice packaging

AprilLady · 18/12/2024 10:32

@BakeOffRewatch yes, I saw that. But even with BD discount it’s still £382. Only worth it if you’re sure you’ll love the full size fragrances.

Jellycats4life · 18/12/2024 10:34

£425 is absolutely eye watering!

I know there are a few full sizes in there (plus a few 20-30ml sizes) but in a way that makes it an even riskier purchase, because what if you don’t like them?

I’m kind of surprised they didn’t stick to their previous perfume edit format of 10ml bottles or smaller for less than £100.

Superworm24 · 18/12/2024 10:34

I love this edit but it seems a weird time to release it? I've already finished my Christmas shopping and I know my DH has bought me a few beauty type gifts. So I'd rather wait until January incase I end up with duplicates or just too much perfume. I think a lot of people would be holding out for the January sales as well.

SwordBilledHummingbird · 18/12/2024 10:50

I would have loved another perfume edit but it's a lot of money when there's no guarantee I'll like anything. I suspect it'll be harder to make back any of the money by reselling full sizes too. Personally I'd probably risk it up to £200 but this is just too much.

I think it’s a very weird time to release it - they could have launched it at the start of December at least.

My main thought is they’re aiming this at rich blokes who are only just thinking about doing their Christmas shopping…

BakeOffRewatch · 18/12/2024 11:11

You receive a voucher as well “£35 voucher to book a 'Discover Your Signature Scent Service”. Would you need it after a few scent edits?

I don’t know about timing @Superworm24 , I’ve been in London a while and watched men every year doing the supermarket sweep of luxury shelves on 24th December after leaving the office! Didn’t they used to market the ACs as a gift to give on Christmas Day? The vogue has sold out now despite no price drop or they’ve said it’s sold out and maybe given away the remainder.

BIossomtoes · 18/12/2024 11:27

There’s no way I’d want that quantity of perfume all in one go, especially if it was a lottery. Definitely aimed at useless men with more money than sense.

BakeOffRewatch · 18/12/2024 11:33

Especially as the Scent Beauty Kit £120 is still for sale and has some of the products. If you would purchase two of the full size products anyway I think it’s worth it but a lot of us on here don’t buy like that.

This was my thought as well. At DH's City firm it is also payday and bonus day ...

Must be too expensive for people. When they had a perfume kit for £85 it sold like hot cakes.

BakeOffRewatch · 18/12/2024 13:31

I think it’s the frequency @Jellycats4life , they only did it once a year and it sold out, this winter one is a few months after the summer one, which I bought. People who bought that or wanted to will think well it’s a regular thing now doesn’t need to be snapped up.

Jellycats4life · 18/12/2024 15:07

Good point @BakeOffRewatch. I bought a Liberty fragrance kit and one from Space NK the past couple of years: if there’s one thing I don’t need, it’s fragrance!
