Created with my eyes shut as I'm impatiently waiting for my box!

The perfume smells awful on me, so much so it gave me a headache. I love Sisley products but far too expensive for me to buy unfortunately. I've tested the nail polish and I really like it. PK will be given to DD. To be honest the box is a bit meh but I'll still carry on with my subscription as a nice little savings pot.

BCSurvivor · 15/10/2024 20:41

I'm really pleased with the box.
The Sisley feels really nice on my skin, love the nail polish and I was hoping for a moisturiser so really happy.
The perfume, I already have the full size bottle of this, so this will be a nice travel size.
Definitely a winter scent.

listsandbudgets · 15/10/2024 21:00

I was in some doubt about the perfume as I often don't like woody smells but once I'd realised it was a spray (thanks PPs the cap needed a really strong tug) I put a bit on the back of my hand and then spent the rest of the afternoon sniffing my hand - it's smells lovely on me.

DD has a friend who would love to have the PK - she's going to do very well because I've still got the one from the GWP as well.

Ihavenoclu · 15/10/2024 21:14

I have finally got around to cancelling. It was just another PK product that did it for me. Oh and the 'neuroscience' skincare🙄.

craftysnake · 15/10/2024 21:14

Love that perfume

Addictedtobeauty · 15/10/2024 21:16

BD arrival was a nice surprise but I’m rather underwhelmed by this box. The perfume smells like furniture or leather polish on me- maybe it will dry down to a nice scent. I will use the rest but nothing exciting.

craftysnake · 15/10/2024 21:17

I have my nails done so giving away the nail polish. Sounds cute though

why are you all snotty about Philip Kingsley

craftysnake · 15/10/2024 21:18

I’ve bought up three of the perfumes on vinted tonight 😂😂

UntamedShrew · 15/10/2024 21:23

I love this box! And love you’ve bought three perfumes in one evening 😂

The nail stuff is lovely and a nice change to have a nail product.
excited to try the vitamin c and the masque.

Will use all of this one I think - v happy.

I like the PK products but it does feel like they're in everything. It would be nice to have other brands when these boxes, kits and GWPs are choosing a haircare product.

BakeOffRewatch · 15/10/2024 21:27

Davines has featured and the Maria Nila hair care in the last box. I think Philip Kingsley is one of those popular that just gets people’s backs up, like Pandora jewellery. No reason why really! I agree it’s not luxury in the sense of a special treat, but I don’t think that’s what liberty beauty is trying to only be - they want to be out go to beauty purchase place. Which they’ve e succeeded at with me, I haven’t spent at Space NK in a year or two now. If they’re going to be your go to place they need reliable every day stuff too. Otherwise I’d never meet minimum spend!

petitebleu · 15/10/2024 21:34

I'm really pleased with this box. Love the nail polish, pleased with the PK as it's something I already use and just this morning finished my Votary moisturiser from a few boxes back so that's perfect timing.

craftysnake · 15/10/2024 21:36

I don’t understand the gift with purchase thing

where do you find this

craftysnake · 15/10/2024 21:38

The votary honked

I won't use the PK serum at all, so if anyone wants it just drop me a message, first to ask can have it.

No charge at all and I don't need a swap of anything. I'll pay the postage too, it will only be a couple of £ so it can be my good deed for the year!

I won't be able to post until Saturday though I don't think.

Someone has requested the serum so that's great, I'd prefer to think of it going to a good home rather than being thrown out.

Orangeslemon · 15/10/2024 22:57

I love Philip Kingsley! I’ve been using this gloss for years (it’s been through a few iterations) and it’s one of the best products I’ve found for my thick, frizzy hair. Also really happy with the nail stuff as I’ve been looking for a dupe of the Dior nail glow and hadn’t come across this

Housewife2010 · 16/10/2024 06:23

I'm really pleased with the box. I already have the perfume, nail polish, Kat Burki & hair gloss, but am happy to have back ups. I really like having a 5 ml perfume spray in the box. I never usually bother with my nails, but a couple of quick coats of the Active Glow does leave your nails looking shiny, slightly pink and nicely groomed.

Washing my hair right now and I’m going to use that Philip Kingsley stuff because I’m frizz Tastic at the moment

IDontHateRainbows · 16/10/2024 06:52

Tbf I have purchased PK from liberty before. The weightless body building conditioner is the only product I like but even that now is out as it's ridiculously overpriced for what it is, I'd rather spend my money/ bd credentials something luxurious.

WeAreBorg · 16/10/2024 07:49

I’m really pleased with the box. I haven’t tried the perfume yet but the Tiger one we had was so nice. Love getting any kind of moisturiser or serum as they’ll always get used.
can anyone explain how I use the Suqqu lotion - is it basically a moisturiser?

WeAreBorg · 16/10/2024 07:50

Also does anyone do any of the other beauty subscriptions? Was looking at the Look Fantastic one.

I looked it up last night also thinking it was a light moisturiser but despite the word lotion I think it's more of a toner or essence.

thank you! I shall research what do with ‘essences’ and ‘broths’ and such

WeAreBorg · 16/10/2024 07:55

Forgot to say that I already use the Manicurist nail glow and it’s nice - I use it when my nails need a rest from other things and it seems to restore them nicely after a week or too and nails still look done

I signed up to Glossy Box and LF to get the calendar discounts and thought they'd be fun to try for few months.

LF - so far is okay, this month had an Elemis shower cream I wanted to try. Generally it will have a few good to okay bits but also a bit of filler.

It's better than GB which I'm not that impressed with. I paid for 3 months subscription with GB but that's probably going to go unless they suddenly stun me.
This month had one of those puffy towelling headbands in it - I have actually been wanting one but I could have got one in TK Maxx for about £4 and chose my own colour. Some of the make up items are low cost brands you've never heard of and are very filler-ish.

In fairness to them you do seem to get a few bits over the course of a few boxes that are decent but having watched unboxings on Youtube it's hit and miss. Every so often there's a really good box for the money but most of the time it's a bit meh.

So I'll keep LF for a while longer. Being a subscriber also gives you discounts and early access on the site to stuff which is an additional perk. GB I'm not feeling is worth it so far.

Neither is as good as Liberty but they are monthly and cheaper. Personally I think the quarterly drops are a good idea and LF should probably do something like that. Less frequent schedule but up the quality of products.
