Politics aside, but is this hideous and not best for her frame, or is it me?^^

I think it's rather sweet. I mean it wouldn't suit me, coz I'm a fat git and would resemble a psychedelic watermelon 🍉. But I think Akshata looks lovely in that dress.

@blackandwhitestripes , what the men are wearing is less remarkable, and this is Style & Beauty, so we are more likely to comment on outfits we notice.
We probably didn't comment on outfits that were just appropriate, but anything bright or unusual gets comments.

It's funny as I always think his clothes look a bit tight on him and I think this is loose on her. Probably a fashion thing?

I love this dress and would wear it myself (if I had the money). I’m very petite so no doubt people would say it didn’t suit me but I like to dress in bold styles and don’t like to look the same as everyone else.

I thought she looked lovely. Interestingly if you look at that dress on the designers website, it looks really boho/hippy and a bit ragged in its line with the applique banding.

On her it looked very sleek and stylish and I don't think it was just the heels or the website stying. I wonder if she had it altered. I suppose it could be because she is so slim but it looks really different on her in a good way.

I like it. It's really striking. Suits her, wouldn't suit me. The amount of money she has doesn't factor really. Victoria (Starmer) also looked lovely in her red dress. They both wore fitting colourways.

Exactly! there is a thread here about clothes and outfits and Royals wear and everyone pitches in and comments. I also agree with you OP, that that dress doesn't do anything for her. It overwhelms her. She has become secondary to her dress

I like the length and shoes. Bit too busy for me to do the pattern head to toe but she looks elegant regardless.
