32E bikini that doesn’t look like a bra

DD wears a 32E but is a size 8 overall. I know that probably means she is a 30F or 28FF but she finds anything tight uncomfortable and as she’s still growing it’s a lot cheaper to buy 32E.

She wants to wear pretty bikinis and I would love to spend £10 at primark rather than £50 at bravissimo. However she really needs more coverage and support than cheap ones provide. She hates bikinis that look like bras with the obvious underwire band. She has a nice fitting one from ASOS that is cup sized. Is there anywhere else that sells pretty cup sized bikinis?

I like Pour Moi. They have lots of styles - some are more like bras and others aren't. I'm also a 32E so I feel her pain! I've never been able to just buy a cheap bikini that fits.

Yes, Pour Moi is where I shop as well. I'm a 32E too.

KitKatChunki · 24/06/2024 13:14

Came on to say Pour Moi or M&S - they've surprised me with some supportive and flattering ones in recent years. Am also a 32E but sometimes can do 32DD or 34DD if there are limited options (might be worth checking if she falls in love with something and they don't have the elusive E!)

Brastop

Andywarholswig · 24/06/2024 13:19

Watching as my DD14 is a 32GG and I have just spent a fortune on beautiful bikini from Bravissimo but I’d love to more high street options

Confuzzleduzzled · 24/06/2024 13:19

I’ll have another look. She finds the styles too grown up as she’s only 14. I don’t think she’s unusually big so I can’t understand what other girls her size wear. I did notice that on love island the fashion is for half your boob to be showing beneath the cup. (Not that I want her to dress like that!)

Ivory Rose and Peek & Beau both do ones like these - ASOS and New Look stock them and they aren't hideously expensive either!

Curvy Kate do triangle ones that actually cover and support

Unfortunately it's just really hard to find something suitable when you have a small band size with a large cup. I've tried on cheaper bras that are allegedly my size, but so badly designed that they're monstrously uncomfortable.

To save money, I have to look on eBay or Vinted for a good brand second hand. I have got some really good stuff this way. There are plenty that are pretty much new.

FlippityFloppityFlump · 24/06/2024 13:29

This is cute and doesn't look too old (says the middle aged woman). Doesn't have an obvious bra fit it. Comes in various coloura/patterns

Another vote for Pour Moi, who are definitely the best for support and being comfortable. I wear a 36E and I absolutely love that brand.

Oh yes, I got a lovely Fig Leaves bikini on ebay years ago that was reduced to £25!

On that note, Figleaves! https://www.simplybe.co.uk/shop/c/figleaves/f/Back%20Size--32/Categories--Swimwear?Cup%20Size=E&nofollowind=true

Tesco, Figleaves, Pour Moi.
When I was younger with less cash I would buy a bigger size that accommodated my knockers and then would resew the fastening and straps to reduce the band size. Tie bands and halter necks on bigger sizes also can help.

@Confuzzleduzzled I bought my DD who is a size 10/12 with a 32G bust a Primark bikini. She has bottoms for size 10/12 (S I think) and an XL top (meant to fit 16/18). The top has drawstrings round the neck and back and she just pulls the strings in and it fits. My DD wanted a typical triangle style bikini top and going to a XL size gives the right coverage for a larger cup size with a slim frame. You can always cut and knot the drawstrings if they end up too long.

Verite1 · 24/06/2024 16:21

If she doesn't want underwire, try looking at halter neck, particularly one that you can tie yourself. You can get quite a lot of support that way.

Vermin · 24/06/2024 16:23

Miss Mandalay! Really pretty bikinis from a 28 inch back and large cup sizes that don’t look like they’re built with Forth Bridge construction techniques

Tisfortired · 24/06/2024 16:32

I am size 10/12 and a 32F, I also hate bikinis that look like a bra. I recently bought this and was pleasantly surprised with the support and how it looked.

tankini may be the one

Alwayswonderedwhy · 24/06/2024 20:07

I was a slim top heavy person in a past life and just sized up in bikini tops. Buy her a bigger size in a top that has a tie back. There's loads of halter neck or triangle styles suitable for young girls. No one that age wants a bravissimo type bikini and generally doesn't need the support.

Undercovermole · 24/06/2024 20:12

Definitely Pour Moi
