Am I too old for this wedding dress?

Aged 46, size 8. Wedding in Sept. Is it a bit prom like, youthful, mutton / lamb?

The first one is very special and looks simply gorgeous.

The second one looks like a sack.

AtlanticMum · 25/06/2024 06:49

It’s gorgeous. Super elegant and classic. Best of luck! I only looked at the lace one.

Caththegreat · 25/06/2024 08:47

Please dont berate yourself or call yourself mutton.you are giving into the patriarchy.it will look fine. Its conservative.hardly tarty.why do women do this to themselves and each other?can you imagine a man asking his mate if he looks too old in an outfit? You are 46 ffs.only 46!!!@!!

Confirmed my earlier comment, that dress is 2 old 4 U

> ... in fact think it might be a bit old ladyish - my mums kinda outfit

Muddysockchase · 25/06/2024 10:41

The first dress is gorgeous, I hope you wear it.

Goodtogossip · 25/06/2024 11:20

It's a gorgeous dress & definitely not any of the things you've listed. It's classy & elegant. I like the Satin one too but the lace one is beautiful. I'm sure you'll look stunning in it.

scotscorner · 25/06/2024 13:20

Also love the first one! Congrats OP, sure you will look beautiful

inamarina · 25/06/2024 13:49

The first dress is absolutely gorgeous.

LoobyDoop2 · 25/06/2024 13:51

First one is beautiful.

Jessieshome · 25/06/2024 14:57

If anything I would worry that you were too young for it! But it is perfectly lovely and you should wear whatever you want to wear at 46.

I agree that Op is more likely to be too young than too old.

I'm 60 & wouldn't consider myself too old!

Sillyname63 · 25/06/2024 17:00

First dress is lovely, 2nd dress is nice but a bit understated tbh, It would probably be ok with nicer accessories, the shoes she has on do not do anything for a it . I
White is fine, whatever your age if that's what you want.

Tillievanilly · 25/06/2024 17:55

It’s elegant. I would say perfect.

Nimbus1999 · 25/06/2024 18:26

I love it! I’m 45 and would definitely wear it

GanninHyem · 25/06/2024 18:30

The first dress is lovely, and hardly something a 20 year old would be clubbing in anyway. 2nd is awful and doesn't even look good on the model.

I think a stately home deserves better than both of those but don't focus on cost focus on the dress itself. So what if your cake costs more!

Berlinlover · 22/06/2024 22:01

It’s beautiful but anyone over 35 shouldn’t wear white (I’m aware that my opinion is controversial).

Why 35 in particular?

CinnamonJellyBeans · 25/06/2024 20:17

I'm so sorry, but I think you're too young for the dress. If it wasn't white, you'd pass for mother of the bride.

Like a PP has said, it has no wow factor at all.

DoWaDiddyDiddy · 25/06/2024 20:47

The dress is goregeous, I hope it fits!!

newmumabouttown · 25/06/2024 21:09

The ghost one is SO much nicer. I was surprised at the dress I. The first link, I think the opposite, it will add 20 years to your age. Ghost is gorgeous.

I'm so fed up of the idea that something isn't very nice/ has no wow factor but it'll be ok for an older woman to wear.

It's an underwhelming dress. It's on Net-a-Porte. There were lots of white or ivory dresses which I thought had far more wow factor including some of these Loveshackfancy dresses. (Usual disclaimer, all subjective ect, etc) (I don't know why my phone defaults to US prices)

thelengthspeoplegoto · 25/06/2024 21:35

It's beautiful

urbanbuddha · 26/06/2024 05:07

Who are all these people who wear nighties?

greengreyblue · 26/06/2024 06:31

Neither dress is young or old, both are quite classic. It’s who is wearing it, the body in it and how you style it with your accessories and hair that will present the real you and age.

Aworldofmyown · 26/06/2024 07:20

I wore the long version of the Ghost dress to my wedding. I can confirm it looks better with some boob's and curves!
