Am I too old for this wedding dress?

Aged 46, size 8. Wedding in Sept. Is it a bit prom like, youthful, mutton / lamb?

Thank you all for the messages! I have ordered the dress and it’s perfect. It’s not my first wedding, I have done the big dress 25 years ago but it’s my DP first one, so I wanted white for him to have the traditional wedding experience.

The dress is longer on me though the waist line sits spot on. My shoes are these, bought to go with the first dress, so a bit vintage in style. They may not be perfect for this one, but they are so so beautiful.

If anyone would like to suggest earrings, please feel free! Hair will be up.

That’s great OP, congratulations! The shoes are lovely too. The model has silver sandals on in the picture so I think you’ll be ok. Personally I would keep earrings simple and small, silver or white gold. The dress and shoes will speak for themselves so keep any other accessories simple I would say. Have a fabulous time!

Like a pp, I think the first dress is too old, fussy and frumpy for a mere 46 year old (from the point of view of a 55 year old!).

As a size 8 you could wear anything!

Apologies OP, I noticed after posting that you have ordered the dress! I had only looked at the first pic and judged based on that but looking at the others I can see what other posters are saying. It is delicate and pretty and you will look fab in it - have a wonderful wedding 🙃

They seem to be available in pearls of different shades - I thought that the ivory ones might be a more suitable match for your dress than white pearls.

I think the first one is beautiful and very classy. The second one needs some seriously good underwear so that you don't see every outline. If you're getting both, that's perfect - the lace for the ceremony, photos and formal part of the day and the silk for a more relaxed evening/party look. Have a wonderful day!

Absolutely stunning dress and very classy. I’m 61 and would definitely wear as long as it’s comfortable fit it so I don’t think you have any thing to worry about. Just enjoy wearing it and enjoy the day
