What is your opinion of this Vivienne Westwood bag?

DD and I have differing opinions- what do you think? What would it say about the wearer?

I like VW designs, but this is not it. It's a VW logo on a carrier bag, made in leather. There are navy other uses of £400

It's an unlined leather tote that has obvious branding on the front. I personally do not like the branding, it's too much. It's leather though and a 'well known' designer. Comparatively I think the pricing is similar to other contemporary 'designer' leather tote bags out there. It wouldn't be for me.

Not for me. I have a massive aversion to being made to pay to loudly advertise someone's brand.

yup, Id be looking for the misspelling of the name as it looks like one of those 'Made in Taiwan' tacky copies you'd pick up in a market on holiday.
Would of been quite nice if it just had the logo on though....

I actually like it, or even love it. It’s nice and cool.

Like an advertising poster, if they are going to stick their label on it they should pay me to carry it around to advertise for them

I’m a huge VW lover!! I still find the mainline clothes amazing quality and well made.

however I wouldn’t buy this!

I have one of the cloth totes made in Kenya - essentially an extremely expensive shopping bag, it’s red and blue tiger stripe though and I love it 🤦🏻‍♀️

If it was lined, had a zipped inside pocket, had no logo, had handles that were long enough to wear as a shoulder tote and came in tan, bottle green, navy or black and was half the price, I would like it.

Never understood why anyone would want to walk about with clothing and assessories with someone else's name on it.

It’s a bit like a general shopping bag with Tesco plastered on the side 😂

I don't like it personally, but I can see why it might appeal to a label conscious teenager with cash to burn.

If I saw a proper full grown adult with it though, I'd probably think that it looked a bit tragic.

I know people get upset when you imply that fashion has an age limit, but imo, that sort of thing definitely does.

I assume your DD is a teenager and therefore she will ADORE this bag. And that's what matters. If you're not to far from Bicester they have a VW outlet shop where you might find similar for a bit less money.
