Olivia looks lovely, though I’m not a fan of the lacy neckline. Eugenie’s dress is a great shape on her but she could get away with a stronger colour. Was she the only royal in attendance?

Apart from William who was an usher, I think so

DuchessOfPort · 07/06/2024 15:35

I love the new Duchess’s wedding dress and shoes, but thought the hair was quite severe. It’s going to be a good bash!

I feel quite sorry for Prince William these last couple of days - Kate would have been so good as a companion at the DDay stuff as well as to have fun with at the wedding.

I suppose the hair has to be arranged to show off the tiara 🤷‍♀️. I love the blue shoes idea.
I agree it must be difficult for William with all these nice social events at the moment

I think William must be really missing Kate at his side.
Olivia looks lovely, the veil and dress are very pretty, although I'm not a fan of the cut out back. The laurel wreath tiara, like her sisters and mother in law.
They paid for free ice cream for anyone who wanted it in Chester! Nice gesture.

Oh gosh! I thought the bride and the bridesmaids looked awful. It's as if she wanted to show how little she could spend (being rich and all that)

Maireas · 07/06/2024 17:01

How little she could spend? I don't think so. As we always say, taste is subjective.

I do like the idea of blue shoes but not with the bow - I just imagine the hem getting caught on them.

The dress is a game of two halves - front nice , not keen on the back but the veil is beautiful. It makes bc me realise how much more o lived (in no particular order) Sarah Chatto , Kate, Beatrice and Eugenia dresses as royal Brides & Lord Linleys Mum & wife's dress

WorriedGCSEMum · 07/06/2024 17:19

The two thread mascots are unbelievably beautiful

SisterMichael · 07/06/2024 17:48

She looks beautiful and I love the shoes but imvho the dress is underwhelming. It doesn’t hang very well.

Maireas · 07/06/2024 17:50

I think you're right, @SisterMichael - the fit was probably quite tricky with the big gap in the back. The fabric looks beautiful, though.

It’s a lovely frock but the whole ensemble is ageing her I think. If you told me that was OliviaHenson’s older cousin’s wedding pic I’d believe it. I did like the veil lace though.

chesterelly1 · 07/06/2024 17:57

I love the shoes. And the picture of the veil swirling in the wind. Kudos to whoever anchored that into her hair. Giving me a headache at the thought of how it must've been tugging.

eggandonion · 07/06/2024 18:06

Free ice cream? Best possible idea!
Is the dress not sort of standard for aristocratic ladies...no bare shoulders and sleeves in church? Her late majesty would have approved! And my late mother also.😀

deeahgwitch · 07/06/2024 18:20

The dress is beautiful, the veil is beautiful, the shoes are too dark a blue imho but each to their own.
A neighbour's daughter had blue shoes for her "something blue" but they were the Dolce&Gabbana pale blue lace shoes, they were beautiful.
I feel Olivia's hair is too severe- I have seen nicer photos of her.
Wishing them a happy life together.

justasking111 · 07/06/2024 18:26

It's a beautiful cathedral, a lovely place to be married in

Papergirl1968 · 07/06/2024 18:27

The wedding dress was ok, didn’t like the hole in the back.
I thought the bridesmaids’ black shoes looked odd.

Sorry, they’re navy not black. Still not keen though.

Maireas · 07/06/2024 18:43

Yes, those shoes look a bit odd. I wonder if perhaps they're navy velvet and may look better in real life? The flowers are very pretty, and they're all round the cathedral door as well.

Evening all. I can't decide if I'm a fan of the wedding dress or not. I think it looks better from a distance than close up. Loved the veil and tiara though!

stillavid · 07/06/2024 19:03

I was so disappointed in Olivia's dress - the whole look was just so dreary and ageing!

I am hoping she has a killer dress/style for the private party.

Pieceofpurplesky · 07/06/2024 19:08

I thought she looked lovely.
Not only did they give free ice creams they also paid for all the flowers and planting in Chester this year. It's looking really beautiful - worth a visit for anyone who has not been.

Papergirl1968 · 07/06/2024 19:25

Lovely photos of the Dutch royal family.

Anyone else get the feeling that mini-Màxima is going to be the rebel of the family?

Maireas · 07/06/2024 19:28

Yes, you can spot her straight away!
