All those photos of Haakon and Mette Marit make me think he is going to be needed to stand in for his elderly father on an ongoing basis and the portraits are part of the transition process.

Well he is having treatment for cancer.. Whatever sort he is having probably messes with your appetite 🤷‍♀️

Cancer treatment is rough, and KC is an elderly man.

Yes, King Harald has scaled down his public duties and appearances to a great extent - he didn't participate in much of Fred and Mary's visit. He had a pacemaker fitted not long ago.

I certainly didn't intend my comments about the King to sound critical or insensitive. I just meant that he looks worse than I'd expected, I suppose - I felt a little disconcerted by that photo. Of course the treatment must be taking its toll.

While he has obviously lost weight I think he looks OK. He hasn't lost (what's left of) his hair, he doesn't have steroid weight gain that many cancer patients go through, his hands actually look less swollen than they often are. I was expecting a frail old man to return to public duties, but other than some weight loss I think he seems to be doing well.
I hope Catherine is doing OK through her treatment too.

There are rumours that Catherine won't be back in the public eye for the rest of the year, which wouldn't surprise me, but very sad for the family (and for us)

I really wouldn't expect to see Kate until after the summer holidays. She has been through a lot.
The king looks his age! I think he needs a couple of suits that fit...his weight loss is being emphasised.
I hope he takes time out during the election run up and just does the nice occasions.

All things considered, I think Charles looks fairly well. Older than 75 maybe, but tbh he’s always looked older than his age.

Charles and Camilla at an engagement today, Zara and Natalie Pinkham in Monaco, I think, and Max visiting a specialist coding school (in the rain, hence the marks on her outfit).

Camilla in that trusted blue dress, it does suit her. Whereas Max? Not great, the colour isn't vibrant and the style is a bit fussy. Gorgeous beaming smile, though, as usual!

Max is so wonderful and smiley. That headpiece (?) isn’t ideal though.

Camilla is a stalwart. Nice to see them together - I like royals in pairs, I think.

That particular rumour has been debunked by the "source" on whom it was based.

The Sussex Squad have jumped on it and spread it in a negative way.

Ah @MotherofPearl I didn't mean to sound combative there! Just general commentary.

It's been confirmed that Kate won't be attending the Trooping the Colour rehearsal, so it could be that she's trying to conserve her strength for an appearance on the actual day, or it could be that we won't see her.

No pressure from me at all - I just want her to rest and hopefully become stronger/well.
