Is this jumpsuit too ‘sexy’ for a wedding

Confusgurl · 10/04/2024 23:07

Please help!
I’m 32 weeks pregnant and struggling on what to wear to a wedding this weekend!
Ive bought the attached jumpsuit and I love it on me, feel confident and comfortable.

my issue is that it hugs my bump very well and it’s pink, do you think it will look like I’m trying to show off my bump too much?
I don’t like being the centre of attention and certainly don’t want to up stage the bride.

The wedding is one of my boyfriend’s friends and my boyfriend is best man. So whilst I know people there, it’s not like they are my direct friends as such.
I worry people will talk about me as if I’m trying to show off.
Or I could be completely overthinking it!
How much do you think I should ‘show’ my bump?
is it too sexy?

I think it's a great colour and will look lovely. Go for it op x

Confusgurl · 11/04/2024 21:54

Ahh thanks so much guys, I’m getting more convinced to just go for it!

im a massive overthinker as it is. I can’t tell you how many dresses I’ve ordered and sent back over the last month. All of which just seem to make me look like a frump!
I’m at the end of my tether with it all really haha!

I have two short kimonos from One Hundred Stars, the quality is amazing and I always get compliments and people asking where they are from. Dithering about getting a third one, don't need it, but they are SO nice!

78Summer · 11/04/2024 22:45

Go for it and enjoy the day.

WinkyTinky · 11/04/2024 23:27

Order it! I love it! There is no need to hide your lovely bump in a frumpy dress. Go go go!!! 😍

user1471522343 · 11/04/2024 23:30

I love it. Wear it.

fungibletoken · 11/04/2024 23:50

£7 - what a steal! I think you'll look fab. There were some lovely glam jumpsuits at my wedding that I still remember now as adding welcome colour. Have a great time, OP and all the best for the rest of your pregnancy 😊

Petitedress · 12/04/2024 08:19

It's not sexy and it will be a nightmare to go to the toilet in. Even at 39 weeks I was a size 8 (size 4 when not pregnant) and I preferred dresses because it was easier to go to the toilet (and I needed a wee a lot in the third trimester). Whether your intention or not, you will stand out in a tight fitting bright pink jumpsuit with an obvious baby bump. Go for a dress instead (and not bodycon).

Zone2NorthLondon · 12/04/2024 08:26

Christ alive, usual mn recommendation to wear curmudgeonly & dowdy for a wedding
PINK!pass the smelling salts. One needs sunglasses if the palette deviates from navy or taupe. Simply won’t do.How is one supposed to be both superior and middle class in pink
I see a cardi, shrug, etc suggested. What about bolero…that’s v mumsnet . Yes a shrug or cardi to add that allotment owner vibe

wear what you want, it’s actually a pretty colour. And have a super day

Maraa · 12/04/2024 08:43

Go for it, you will look lovely xxx

Pickingmyselfup · 12/04/2024 08:50

Another vote for it being perfect if you feel comfortable in it. Your bump will stand out regardless of what you wear and pink is a great wedding colour.

So what if she stands out, I doubt most people would give a shit and if they do...fuck them

Its dire. I wouldnt wear it.

Go for it. And I certainly wouldn’t spend more than the minimum on a maternity outfit you will only ever wear again if you happen to be going to a wedding at the same time of year at the same stage of pregnancy.

bradpittsbathwater · 12/04/2024 09:56

I think it's nice. Not too sexy at all. No one will be looking at you anyway.

Jk987 · 12/04/2024 10:05

I love it on me, feel confident and comfortable.

Wear it then, it's lovely! Ignore the floaty dress frumpy brigade! It's quite chilly so you could bring a cover up of some sort.

Grin well said!

fishonabicycle · 12/04/2024 11:30

I think it's perfect for a wedding. Don't worry about anyone else - it's comfy and you feel good in it (which is it ease at 7 months pregnant!). Have fun x

Readyteddy123 · 12/04/2024 11:47

Definitely not sexy. More like a hotel beauty therapist.

Beautiful3 · 12/04/2024 12:36

It is lovely and perfect for a wedding.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 12/04/2024 12:59

It should be fine. I prefer the cobalt to the pink but that’s just me.

You’ll definitely need a cover up though, the One Hundred Stars ones are a nice touch and investment. I would make sure though that you can manage toilet in it beforehand only because I’d hate to have an accident in that pregnant or not! I’m having enough dramas in bodysuits right now and I dealt with them in my early 20s when they were first trendy! 🤣🫣

A BOLERO! 🤣🤣 Haven’t worn one since I was a flower girl in the early nineties.

Awww, I made my first holy communion wearing a matching bolero and skirt (winter and not done at the usual time). I was about 8 (late 70s). I LOVED it so much.
