Is this jumpsuit too ‘sexy’ for a wedding

Please help!
I’m 32 weeks pregnant and struggling on what to wear to a wedding this weekend!
Ive bought the attached jumpsuit and I love it on me, feel confident and comfortable.

my issue is that it hugs my bump very well and it’s pink, do you think it will look like I’m trying to show off my bump too much?
I don’t like being the centre of attention and certainly don’t want to up stage the bride.

The wedding is one of my boyfriend’s friends and my boyfriend is best man. So whilst I know people there, it’s not like they are my direct friends as such.
I worry people will talk about me as if I’m trying to show off.
Or I could be completely overthinking it!
How much do you think I should ‘show’ my bump?
is it too sexy?

Other than the toilet issue (perhaps get some sort of super long she-wee that you can tape you your leg), it's fab.

There is nothing wrong with wearing bright colours at a wedding, heck we encouraged it at our wedding! My own mam was in BRIGHT blue.

Also Boohoo clothes either fall apart within 10 minutes OR will last you for the next 20 years somehow.

CreateAUsername2024 · 11/04/2024 15:49

You'll look gorgeous! You have to wear something, if anyone judged you they need to get a grip of their disordered thinking, all this upstage the bride stuff is nonsense :)

WinkyTinky · 11/04/2024 16:20

I never noticed what ANYONE was wearing at my wedding. Not one. Wear what you feel nice in 😃

Banana1979 · 11/04/2024 16:36

Looks fine it doesn’t show anything tbh

Ohnodontwantthiscrush · 11/04/2024 16:40

Can anybody post a screenshot? I can't get through on that link.

I like the sound of a bright fitted jumpsuit anyway on a size 10 frame with a 32 week baby bump.

I loved wearing fitted gear through my pregnancy. This thread brings me back. I was lucky enough to feel very healthy through my pregnancy so kept the exercise up and stayed in great shape. I had a few lovely red Bardot mini dresses. It was a hot summer so I'd a tan and as for my pregnancy hair oh how i miss it especially now in menopause. Dress up and feel beautiful OP. It's a wonderful stage and you should celebrate it.

Grapewrath · 11/04/2024 16:47

It’s gorgeous, I bet you’d looking great in it. It’s fab for a wedding

poppyslashtulip · 11/04/2024 17:05

I wore very similar (but not pink) to a wedding when I was pregnant. I added a blazer! You’ll look great.

stargirly · 11/04/2024 17:45

it’s really cute and such a bargain! it’s totally appropriate for a wedding, don’t downplay your bump at all, you’re 7 months pregnant so seems pointless trying to hide it anyway. have fun and good luck with your little one when the time comes <3

ItIsifISayItIs · 11/04/2024 17:53

I’d go for a dress, op, purely because of the loo dashes! The jumpsuit is nice, but I think you’d struggle in the loo!!
We went to an all day wedding when I was 6 months gone and I was so shattered, we only “showed our faces” at the evening party… nobody noticed!

BananaLambo · 11/04/2024 18:04

I’d tone it down with navy jacket and accessories but it’s suitable - at this stage I wouldn’t bother getting anything else.

Justgorgeous · 11/04/2024 18:24

£7? I can’t imagine this is going to look very nice

NCGrandParent · 11/04/2024 18:35

Lovely and if comfortable and easy to go to loo in, I think it's perfect ❤️

VampireWeekday · 11/04/2024 19:04

I read the replies before seeing the dress and honestly I was underwhelmed after all the comments! That outfit looks fine to me. It's no problem to have your bump prominent, it would be deranged to think of someone else being pregnant as "upstaging" you as the bride. Guests come at whatever life point they're at, why would anyone have a problem with that.

Theuglynaillady · 11/04/2024 19:30

Absolutely fine. You will look like a pregnant woman with a bump, because that’s what you are- you don’t need to hide under a floaty dress.

JustBeKinder · 11/04/2024 19:33

I think it looks fabulous, go for it and be proud x

Purpleturtle45 · 11/04/2024 19:38

I look more pregnant than that model (and I am not pregnant!) 🙈

Itsnotallaboutyoulikeyouthink · 11/04/2024 20:01

Not menace meant by this but you are not going to upstage the bride in that which is what I think you are getting at. It’s just a jumpsuit and you are pregnant nothing to get worried about.

I think OP meant draw too much attention - bright pink, very fitted outfit on heavily pregnant women.
I think it's fair enough to ask for opinions, sometimes (especially when we need to get an outfit for a specific occasion) you can get a bit overwhelmed.

BrendaSmall · 11/04/2024 21:14

Definitely not what I’d call a sexy outfit, I’d be very wary that with your bump it doesn’t put the material up between your legs and give you a 🐫 toe 🤣

Ooh good point OP!

You're getting lots of snooty snippy replies not because it's unsuitable, too revealing, too attention seeking or whatever the hell, but because it's from Boohoo and costs seven quid.

Should it come from Net-a-Porter and would be 300-500 at the minimum, it could be the same colour, same fabric and it would receive rave reviews. I've seen some absolute crap suggested, also in bright colours and not even made of the MN beloved 'naaaturaaaaal fiiiiibres' with a hefty price tag - it's been met with oooooh, that's so lush! and the like.

Alternatively you could choose a shapeless amish sack or something with 'sharp architectural lines' in colour dirge-bilge from Cos, toast, me+em or that absolutely dull overpriced ugly place Sezanne for 200+ and it would also do.

Meanwhile in reality, whilst not super fashion forward - the jumpsuit is fine and the colour is fine too. It's in no way a 'monstrosity', please. A monstrosity was that piggy-pink desiiiiigner leather maxi dress for 2000 quid from yesterday's 'what to wear on a date' thread. No one will talk about you in hushed tones, stare daggers or be mortally offended/shocked. Bride wouldn't care. Pretty sure there will be tonnes of women wearing similar things.

As for the 'black dress and shawl' - what the hell..

I fucking love this reply. You’ve summed up mumsnet in just a few paragraphs @ViaMargutta

colour dirge-bilge from cos 🤣🤣🤣 absolutely spot on.

I like the jumpsuit OP, wear it!

sofasofa42 · 11/04/2024 21:26

Perfect for a wedding. I was enormously pregnant and always went for something like this at the weddings I went to. Frankly they will all get shitfaced and bore the pants off you by 9, enjoy looking graceful and full of baby. Do it

WinkyTinky · 11/04/2024 16:20

Same! We had a large, relatively formal wedding, but I can honestly say that I didn't care one jot what anyone wore. I couldn't remember one single outfit - I just wanted everyone to have a lovely day!

LongLaneLove · 11/04/2024 21:27

...sorry meant to add OP, that's a great choice, wear it and feel fab in it.
