Is this jumpsuit too ‘sexy’ for a wedding

Confusgurl · 10/04/2024 23:07

Please help!
I’m 32 weeks pregnant and struggling on what to wear to a wedding this weekend!
Ive bought the attached jumpsuit and I love it on me, feel confident and comfortable.

my issue is that it hugs my bump very well and it’s pink, do you think it will look like I’m trying to show off my bump too much?
I don’t like being the centre of attention and certainly don’t want to up stage the bride.

The wedding is one of my boyfriend’s friends and my boyfriend is best man. So whilst I know people there, it’s not like they are my direct friends as such.
I worry people will talk about me as if I’m trying to show off.
Or I could be completely overthinking it!
How much do you think I should ‘show’ my bump?
is it too sexy?

It should be fine. I prefer the cobalt to the pink but that’s just me.

You’ll definitely need a cover up though, the One Hundred Stars ones are a nice touch and investment. I would make sure though that you can manage toilet in it beforehand only because I’d hate to have an accident in that pregnant or not! I’m having enough dramas in bodysuits right now and I dealt with them in my early 20s when they were first trendy! 🤣🫣

@Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain

she doesn’t need a cover up
whatever style of cover up will look terrible with it

A BOLERO! 🤣🤣 Haven’t worn one since I was a flower girl in the early nineties.

I still loved these in the mid 2000's. You tend to only see them on much older ladies now.

bradpittsbathwater · 12/04/2024 16:06

It doesn't need a cover up. You aren't exposing any flesh!

CinnamonJellyBeans · 12/04/2024 16:16

I'm assuming the bride is not wearing a pink jumpsuit? Then it's fine. The model picture looks great and it's a good bargain for the price. It would be great if you can post an anonymised picture!

Enjoy the wedding and the rest of your pregnancy.

Jumpsuits are fine for a wedding. Lots of people wear them. They can be dressed up and down. Not my bag, but very popular.

jackstini · 12/04/2024 17:15

I read some of the posts before the link uploaded & was thinking 'blimey what will this look like?!'

Then was really surprised when it came up

I think it's lovely, perfect for a spring wedding
Really like the sleeves and it is a bargain!

I don't know what anyone means by saying "it screams, look at me". What a weird attitude. I hope this is not a new put down we're going to start hearing.

I like the colour and if you feel good, then you should wear it. No need to hide in dark colours or extra fabric. Enjoy the day.

My thoughts too!
Never heard of the term ‘Upstaging the bride’ until I moved to this country as the bride always looks like a gorgeous princess from a fairy tale with an exquisite white bridal gown where there is no way you can upstage her unless you turn up in a bridal gown too. 🤣
I appreciate not everyone likes this type of bridal wear but there…

MFF2010 · 12/04/2024 18:39

It's not at all sexy, I can't imagine anyone looking good in that outfit tbh 🤷‍♀️ I think you'd be the talk of the wedding for all the wrong reasons.

ZsaZsaTheCat · 12/04/2024 18:48

I think it’s lovely and if I saw you in it I’d be like aww she looks cute with her baby bump. I’d think you were really body confident and why shouldn’t you look good as a wedding guest.
At my daughter’s wedding last year her best friend was full term and pulled off a stunning short , colourful dress, she looked amazing and why not.
You don’t need to hide under a big dress.

I really like it but will it be practical for the many visits to the loo you will be making?

My first thought, too

eatdrinkandbemerry · 12/04/2024 18:51

It looks fine to me but I couldn't be bothered undressing every time I needed to pee 🤣

Vonesk · 12/04/2024 18:53

Buy it but NOT RED!!!!!!
No way!!!!!!!
Dye it another colour possibly brown.or purple. Deffo not red to upstage bride.

Emmz1510 · 12/04/2024 18:57

Haha people on here would have you in frumpy, matronly looking maternity dresses! I think it’s lovely and perfectly suitable. Unless the bride is the type to feel that a very pregnant guest would upstage her, you’ll be fine

Cornflakelover · 12/04/2024 19:09

It’s lovely but I think only if your tall and slim with a bump like the picture

if your short with a bump you might look like a bright pink marshmallow waiting to be mallowed 😂

Switcher · 12/04/2024 19:12

Looks great

Currently at 150 responses! OP, all l can add to my previous (positive) comments is that you must now have the most famous jumpsuit in world history. 😀

Verbena17 · 12/04/2024 19:22

Do you like these? They come in a range of colours, easy for the 32 week loo trips & not too spendy….
https://www.tiffanyrose.com/maternity/clothing/BSDBF/Bardot-Maternity-Shift-Dress-(Blue-Floral).html

£65 is a lot more spendy than £7....

Magpiecomplex · 12/04/2024 19:24

It's a beautiful colour, and if it fits and is comfy, go for it! I chose the above knee length dress option last time I was pregnant at a wedding, but I was a size 16, and 8 months pregnant with my second, transverse, baby so I was basically spherical and didn't particularly want to show that off!

Yes that’s true but the OP didn’t mention price point in the OP.

DottyLottieLou · 12/04/2024 19:45

Go for it. £7, brilliant.

Maybe, l should get out more, but I’ve never seen a bride in red. The OP says it’s not red anyway, but if it was, how on earth can that upstage the bride?
