Is this jumpsuit too ‘sexy’ for a wedding

Please help!
I’m 32 weeks pregnant and struggling on what to wear to a wedding this weekend!
Ive bought the attached jumpsuit and I love it on me, feel confident and comfortable.

my issue is that it hugs my bump very well and it’s pink, do you think it will look like I’m trying to show off my bump too much?
I don’t like being the centre of attention and certainly don’t want to up stage the bride.

The wedding is one of my boyfriend’s friends and my boyfriend is best man. So whilst I know people there, it’s not like they are my direct friends as such.
I worry people will talk about me as if I’m trying to show off.
Or I could be completely overthinking it!
How much do you think I should ‘show’ my bump?
is it too sexy?

It's okay but likely to draw attention to yourself. What about a pretty, floaty dress? More appropriate to a spring wedding?

What would be wrong with ‘drawing attention to yourself’? Is this some weird British cultural quirk where anything that makes you distinguishable from beige wallpaper is to be avoided? Or is this a wedding thing?

It’s a mumsnet thing. The multiple rules to perfect middle class anonymity through the medium of clothes

no attention seeking
no colours
No pattern
MUST absolutely MUST wear a bolero or a shrug or some kind of wrap to hide, disguise and swathe the female form
If you have the bad manners to be pregnant at a wedding you MUST wear a tent with curtain vibes
A fascinator or hat that looks like a plumbers sink u bend must be clamped onto a plain hairstyle

The OPs is keen not to take the attention away from the bride and wanted to ask opinions on whether a bump hugging pink jump suit would do that.
She says she also doesn't like to draw attention to herself, and wanted to ask opinions on whether a bump hugging pink jump suit would do that.

It's OK for people not to want to draw attention to themselves and some outfits do just that. It doesn't mean she is bowing to the patriarchy or is embarrassed/ashamed of her body (pregnant or otherwise).

It doesn’t look dressy enough. I would spend more than £7 for better quality.

some ideas, seraphine the most expensive, next will do something similar. I honestly wouldn’t wear boohoo, bright pink or a jumpsuit to a wedding as not formal enough/too bright, perhaps the wedding is relaxed?

MelodyFinch · 16/04/2024 15:25

I think it looks gorgeous. I wonder if a jacket would make you feel more relaxed until everyone is drunk?

DeliciouslyDecadent · 16/04/2024 15:50

It's horrid for anyone!
£7 for a dress- what does that tell you? Cheap fabric and no one is buying it- hence the sale.

Jo Jo Mama Babe or Seraphine has what I'd consider nice dresses and there are also other maternity sites where you can find stylish dresses that aren't frumpy.

BarbaraWoodlouse1 · 16/04/2024 16:19

It’s no way going to upstage the bride. It looks comfy. I’d wear it if I was pregnant. Go for it!

Tracker1234 · 16/04/2024 16:58

Sorry, I think it is awful. In a much much darker colour maybe but no. I wouldnt wear it to a wedding

ThatUniqueMaker · 16/04/2024 18:04

Think the Pink jumpsuit looks great. and I'm of the old school . Just remember to take Photos And post them. Enjoy your Day, Andenjoy your Bump, I know I did When I was young.

Tartantotty · 16/04/2024 19:08

Not sexy when you're preggers, and def not suitable for a wedding. Go for something floaty which allows freedom of movement.

Queenfierce · 16/04/2024 22:01

Definitely not sexy at all not what I would Sat should be worn to a wedding

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 16/04/2024 23:34

@Confusgurl have you cancelled the cheque? 🤣
