Comfortable but nice sandals

Popsicle30 · 09/04/2024 13:58

I’m looking for a pair of sandals that I can walk around in that are comfortable but not too big/chunky.

I do like a footbed style but open to other ideas. I’d be wearing them on a summer city break and for general use over summer.

Ideally tan or black colour. Budget, ideally under £90.

Suggestions welcomed.

For footbed you can't beat Birkenstocks. I love the Mayari style.

For something less chunky, I like Fitflop Gracie. Clarks often do something similar.

Thank you @WhereAreWeNow. I’ll take a look at those. Have been considering a Birkenstock just wondering how comfy if wearing all day.

I have Birkenstock Madrids, I could honestly walk 1000 miles in them!

Twilightstarbright · 09/04/2024 16:08

I have the sketchers Beverlee in black and I walked for hours around Bangkok in them over Easter. So comfortable.

Sandalwoodrose · 09/04/2024 16:14

I haven't bought anything from them yet as only recently found them, but I am eyeing up several pairs of Moshulu sandals. If they're as comfy and well made as they look, I'll be happy!

Saltwaters don't rub , but they are very flat.

I've worn various Birkenstocks for over 20 years. They never fail to be comfortable from the off and I've walked miles in them on holiday and in heat. I contemplated a pair of Saltwater sandals but they are too flat for hours of walking for me.

I got footbed ones from Celtic and co last year, they are so comfortable. There’s a few different styles. I’ve got the triple strap ones.

Popsicle30 · 09/04/2024 21:45

Many thanks all. Some really good options to look at.

I’d never heard of Celtic and Co@cannaethink - a few pairs for everyday use that look nice plus a lovely wedge pair to dress up more!

Ooh also like the options on Moshula. Thanks @Sandalwoodrose

Another vote for Birkenstocks here, I've done several city breaks with lots of walking in mine. I've got a few styles but my white Gizeh's are my old faithfuls, I've had them for nearly ten years!

Serenity45 · 09/04/2024 23:03

Yet another Birkenstock vote! I live in my Madrids and have walked miles in them on occasion.

WeightoftheWorld · 09/04/2024 23:04

Tevas, someone recommended them to me when I asked this exact question a few years ago and I've not looked back. I have two pairs and will probably add more in future, they're ace.

I have struggled to find sandals that I can walk miles in and don’t slide about on my feet and give me a blister for the last few years. I have Birkenstocks but don’t find them particularly comfortable unlike so many other people. I toyed with walking sandals but felt they weren’t for me. This year I’ve plumped for these Boden ones which feel marvellous, the sole has some padding, they fit snugly. Admittedly I’ve not Road tested them yet as the weather is rubbish but will report back after my holiday in May. Naturally had a 20% code which brought them down in price.

These are so so comfy!!! Really simple in style. I have a white pair but intend to get other colours.

Moshulu sandals are fantastic, @Sandalwoodrose ! I have 4 pairs.

The cork soles are ever so slightly squishy, so a lot more comfortable than Birkies if you're doing a lot of pavement pounding. And they've never given me a blister. They really seem to last, too, one pair of mine is several years old now.

Their sizing is slightly large, imo. I'm normally a 6.5 or a 7, but a Moshulu 6 is a perfect fit.

I've ordered a couple of pairs of Hoff sandals in black and neutral. They are a trainer company originally, very comfortable on the first try.

Birkenstocks are really uncomfortable on me, the moulding is in the wrong place in the middle of the sole and it gives me blisters. I wear FitFlop sandals, most comfortable I have ever found.

ClaudiaWinklepanda · 12/04/2024 07:46

The most comfortable sandals I've ever owned are Birkenstock Milano. Sooooo comfy but absolutely fugly.

Hullabalooza · 12/04/2024 08:30

Blowfish granola sandals are very comfortable and supportive, I’ve had several styles over the last few years and always come back to them.
