Evening everyone. I'm starting this new thread at a bit of a sad time, and I know we're all thinking of Kate and her family. Let's hope that as we continue in our lighthearted way, good news arrives for her, and others who are in a similar situation, either themselves or loved ones.🌷

I think partly it's that Max always looks like she is having such fun. She really leans into the whole thing. And yet, the past year can't have been easy, with Amalia having to relocate because of death threats.

Yes, Max definitely has the right personality to be a royal, but you can tell she works on it.

Look at little Gabriella in her cute pink jacket! Charlene looks gorgeous, her hair and makeup are great. I like the jacket although I'm not too keen on the large patch pockets on the trousers. A bit too cargo pants for my liking.

No I’m not keen on the pockets either. And I have to disagree with Hello as I don’t think Gabriella resembles Charlene!

I've always thought Amalia looks more like her dad, but I can see she also looks like a young Max too.

Amalia resembles her ancestor Emma of Waldeck and Pyrmont, who was Queen Wilhelmina’s mother and Regent of the Netherlands for her minority.

All her stepchildren were older than her! It's interesting how the Netherlands has had several female monarchs or regents, and will again, after Wax.

Yes, Wax was the first boy born to the Dutch royals in over 100 years! I think one of his brothers has a son but apart from him it’s all girls again.

That particular tiara apparently not - it is thought to have been broken up to use in the Stuart tiara. I imagine the pearls and diamond sunbursts are still intact though.

Queen Emma at 20 married the king who was 61.

He spent $2.5 million on this parure for her. Off to look for the Stuart tiara.
