Evening everyone. I'm starting this new thread at a bit of a sad time, and I know we're all thinking of Kate and her family. Let's hope that as we continue in our lighthearted way, good news arrives for her, and others who are in a similar situation, either themselves or loved ones.🌷

Not royalty but it's the Met Gala Ball tonight so there should be some amazing outfits.

You never know, a royal or two may attend. Beatrice has in the past, as have the Greek and Monaco royals. Diana did once, in the 90s, but wore a negligee-style dress that wasn’t one of her best looks.

CPV and Sofia both in ice blue tonight. Sofia’s is a bit too fussy for my liking.

The cut and drape of CPV's dress are perfect. I'm not keen on Sofia's high necked dress.

I like Mary’s dress and tiara, but yes, with all the honours and badges it’s maybe too much.

I'd managed to completely forget the Ruby Parure's connection to Sweden/the Bernadotte family! Of course Mary was going to wear it on her first visit as Queen. But I really hope she wears something else tonight, if there's another tiara event...

Am sure she has worn that dress before. And that she has it in another colour too. I was expecting her to go full on Queen on her first overseas trip but so far nearly everything is a rewear - yesterday's white dress, the gala skirt last night. I think the beige cape has been worn before too. Good for the environment but bad for style spotting.

Yes I think you're right. The dress she wore to board the Dannebrog for the first time as Queen was also a re-wear.

I don't mind, tbh, although it definitely isn't as fun in fashion terms. I think she's probably keen to avoid criticism for making it too obviously all about clothing/jewellery or maybe seeming a little too eager, given that Daisy is still with us (somehow it seems more prudent to show restraint, even though there's no mourning).

I hope she'll pull out all the stops the first they host a state visit in Denmark. More Crown Jewels!!

The red is nice on Mary, although the sleeves don't look quite right. I like her updo, very chic.
