Evening everyone. I'm starting this new thread at a bit of a sad time, and I know we're all thinking of Kate and her family. Let's hope that as we continue in our lighthearted way, good news arrives for her, and others who are in a similar situation, either themselves or loved ones.🌷

Amalia still conveys dragged out with Mum and Dad's friends vibes.

I know what you mean @StartupRepair but maybe what happened over the past year has made her nervous. She doesn’t seem to have the self-confidence of some of her contemporaries like Elisabeth of Belgium or Ingrid of Norway, but whether that’s down to shyness or recent events, I don’t know.

And perhaps having such a popular and outgoing mother would have an effect on a young woman too. Max is a lot to live up to!

Mary on solo engagements today, to a uni and a psychiatric unit apparently.

I have to say that dress of Leti’s with the wraparound collar is stunning. Its beautifully constructed and must be one of the best things I’ve seen on her. It also looks like the sort of dress Meghan or Charlene would wear!

I noticed that she was seated while receiving guests at the state banquet the other night. Her feet really must’ve been troubling her.

Max looked good too - she’s probably one of the few women who can get away with a giant bow on the shoulder! Amalia has her coat on in all the photos - is it a lewk or was she feeling cold?

Letizia was in serious pain with her feet to sat down while performing duties. I wouldn't be surprised if she ditches heels altogether (even for gala dinners) sooner, rather than later.

I loved her Dutch designer, wraparound dress, looks fab.

As for Amalia, she's been living in Spain last year with the highest degree of antiterrorist Spanish security team around her 24/7. I'm a bit surprised the Dutch Government couldn't provide the same level of security in her country as Spain did. We all knew she was being seen a bit "too much" in Madrid, but the control was so high, no one knew she was actually living and going to Uni in Madrid. Unlike Leonor or Elizabeth in Belgium, she's been very protected in her official duties and needs to catch up.

Leti’s navy dress is I agree stunning in design, but I think it was a bit much for a day engagement. The linked article shows an amazing evening dress version - I think that would be a better use of it (though unfortunately not much use to Leti who’d need to add honour sashes etc - so I can totally see why she wore the knee length version here. Buy the full-length gown for a photoshoot, Leti!).

Queen Mary is out and about in a simple chic ensemble. Still looks chilly in Denmark.

I know they’re non-negotiable but I always think the sashes and orders etc ruin the lines of the gowns!

On April 18, 2024, the Royal Court of Norway released a new official portrait of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit. The photo had been taken last year by court photographer Dusan Reljin in the Great Hall (the Ballroom) at the Royal Palace of Oslo on the occasion of the 50th birthdays of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit. In 2023, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit celebrated their 50th birthday. For the photo, Crown Princess Mette-Marit had worn a new red gown designed by her friend, Norwegian designer Peter Dundas.

I always think MM ‘does’ being a royal very well.

Letizia's navy dress was for the Spanish evening gala return to their hosts. That gala is usually low key without tiaras or long evening gowns.

She wore the red dress with the pink coat for the day engagement.

MM looks great there! I still wonder if King Harald will be the next monarch to abdicate? There was talk of it when he was ill a few months ago but it’s all died down. I’m sure Haakon is more than ready to be king and I could see I-A being a competent and popular crown princess, much in the vein of CPV.

Mette-Marit looks great there, that's a wonderful colour for her.

I love the red dress, I think Peter Dundas uses to design for Pucci and some other brands.

The woman showing Mary around also looks great with her silver hair and docs !

Love Mary's blouse and skirt, the detail on the skirt looks interesting. She seems to have a stonking amethyst ring on to match her blouse.
