Can anyone recommend a nice rucksack/backpack suitable for hand luggage? Preferably not leather

Thank you

I love the Osprey range - I’ve travelled with only carry on for years and it’s still great - fits a weeks clothes in easily and cabin bag size.
Mine is like this but older. Actually this makes me want a new one!

Another vote for Osprey from me. I can't find my exact one as it's years old but it's similar to the previous one linked. DH and I take one each when we go on holiday and I can pack everything I need for a week.

I took a rucksack from Gandys on our trip last year. I liked the hidden pocket for passports etc. I have the small Bali backpack which worked well for days out, carrying bottles of water, sun cream etc.

Another vote for CabinZero, I have the 44L size which is OK for cabin baggage on some airlines

Nordace Sienna

Another vote for Osprey here too. Very comfy to carry and lots of space. I think mine is a fair point 40 which has been fine for long haul but you might need smaller for some of the European short haul.

I bought this one last summer and it’s perfect for long weekends away. Fits easily under the seat on EasyJet planes so it was a relief not to stress about space in the overhead lockers! They are currently sold out but may come back in stock again?

This one, also available from Amazon. I use it a lot when travelling, it has broad padded shoulder straps and opens fully. It also has a separate laptop/document compartment. I travel reasonably often so I’ve got packing down to a fine art. If you’re only allowed one piece of hand luggage, this will take a handbag shoved in the top section with all your other bits in a packing cube underneath.

These are fab. They weigh nothing and can either be worn as a backpack or carried as a bag. Really easy to get things in and out.

Cabin bag rucksack?

CabinMax backpack £30 on Amazon.

Fine if you go on a few flights a year, plenty of room and pockets, correct dimensions and fabric therefore easy to shuffle under the seat in front.

If travelling every few weeks it might be worth investing in a more expensive bag but I’ve found this great for my needs.

Another vote for Cabin Max, they open like suitcases so no having to pull everything out to get to something at the bottom, and they have a pocket for a water bottle, wee zipped compartments for passport, kindle etc, padded backs and straps and last forever, I've a bigger one (10kg carry on size) that's still looking brand new after 6 years biweekly use - my partner lives abroad and so I used it constantly even through lockdown.

I got this one for a trip last weekend which is the small 'personal item' size for wizz air, ryanair etc and it's also excellent. Comfy to carry and fit LOADS in it, I even had space to spare and could bring a big bunch of souvenirs back (two boxes of chocs, a bottle of olive oil and a christmas decoration!)

I have this one from Amazon (in pink, but it comes in a few colours). It gets through even Ryanair's stringent under seat policy (as long as you don't fill it to the brim, but it squeezes down quite well with the side straps anyway) and I've taken it on loads of trips (3 by plane, others by train) since I got it in September last year, and it's held up really well. It's comfortable to wear too, and it's not expensive at all. I'm bad at packing too, and never had any issues, so highly recommend it!

Looked at Cabin Max but went with a Nordace in the end, it's about 3x the price though.
