I've just had the worst haircut

The images I showed him and what he did.

He's cut it all round like a fucking page boy cut.

I told him I didn't like it and showed him the photos and that it's long at the front, it's passed the jaw!

I'm so upset. My hair was passed my shoulders and I've felt really horrible lately and wanted to feel better.

I feel so fucking ugly :(

I got a way worse hair cut years ago.
The hairdresser who was super popular in the area, cut it so I had two pointy bits as a fringe and told me I could "gel them to my forehead ".
8 weeks later I got my hair cut again by another hairdresser and she bent down, held my hand and asked my gently why I had cut my own hair!!

It'll be fine, it's annoying but you have great hair and it'll grow back well.

Buy some Bumble & Bumble surf spray and scruff it up a bit. And book another cut with the best salon you can afford. It light need to go a bit shorter at the back to get the shape but at least then it will grow into something you’ll like.

You were after a textured bob - you certainly didn't get that.

I'm not fussed on it either, but your last photos look nice. Not what you asked for but ok.

It would be great if you could find a hairdresser who could do what was in the pics. I find looking at their social media posts very handy. One hair dresser I checked out was utterly incapable of cutting a straight line and hair was always crooked in the finished shots. That's a firm No from me.

OP you really do have great hair that a lot of people including myself would be v jealous of.

I also think that you chose a good style for your hair type and face shape.

I agree that the execution by your hairdresser looks sub par.

This style isn't going to look good straightened though, as others have said you need to style it with wavy tousles to get more movement and texture. See how that looks as I think it will be a really big improvement.

You need to find a hairdresser who you like and trust. I used to hate and dread going to the hairdresser then I found a fantastic one and I've stuck with him for over 20 years now. Don't give up going to the hairdressers as with your really super hair you could be missing out on loads of stunning cuts.

If you have a round brush and some mousse, I would blow dry for volume and then rub some wax between your palms and roughen up the back and the ends, and piece out the front and fringe. I suspect as it grows out you will be happy with it.

I'm going to the hairdressers today.

I've woken up and it's somehow even worse. I at least need my fringe evening out and the straggly bits done.

My daughter goes there but there's usually another guy there that she sees who is great , I've been in twice (walk in only) and he's not been working.
Reviews are great so I assumed the other stylists can't be bad either.

Wow. This is really bad. I’m so sorry. It can be rescued into a French Bob, which is a different vibe but can be tousled into something really cute.

Here's the horrific one I had. Was meant to be angled so longer at the front, shorter at the back

I wondered the same thing. I cannot for a second believe that posters gushing over this would be genuinely happy with this haircut (if you can call it that. It honestly looks like it's been hacked at by a 5 year old!) and I actually don't think it's fair to suggest the OP should be happy with it. She's got every right to be upset, it looks every bit as bad as she feels it is. What can I say, other people must have very low standards or expectations of professional hairdressers!

This person shouldn't be allowed to cut hair. It's a disgrace to have sent someone out like that.

I am so relieved to hear she's getting it fixed by someone else. I'm sure they won't be impressed either. Can't wait to see the new improved version,

Hairdresser was absolutely shocked, she asked if he was drunk!!

But she fixed it and I actually love it now.

She didn't have any appointments but she could see I was upset and she fixed it and didn't even charge me😭😭
