I've just had the worst haircut

The images I showed him and what he did.

He's cut it all round like a fucking page boy cut.

I told him I didn't like it and showed him the photos and that it's long at the front, it's passed the jaw!

I'm so upset. My hair was passed my shoulders and I've felt really horrible lately and wanted to feel better.

I feel so fucking ugly :(

My sister had her hair like that in 1973 and she hated it!

It will grow and will look fab with a beret!

Have you tried washing it and blow drying it, giving it volume on the roots.
It is too flat in the pics. Maybe you need some product to give it volume. The wispy layers should show then. Though he gave you a different hair cut from the models.
The pic from the side shows that he did not cut it well at all, as, yes, it has layers, but some bits are considerably longer than the layer they belong to. They can fix that for you in 5 min or less.
At least, give it a go to style it yourself.

But, teah, a rubbish job he did. Go back and get someone to sort it. Seriously. It will not talke long. He just gave up at some point. Maybe he was having a bad day.

It's really cute. You do have the right hair type for it so I'd leave it for as long as possible then go to a new hairdresser to do it properly.

This is horrifically bad. It's definitely not you, it's definitely the hair cut. That hair stylist is not equipped for cutting hair into the style you asked for, which is not a difficult or remotely unachievable cut!
Looks like it's been cut with a knife and fork- blunt ones.
I'm saying this because your impression is completely valid! Well wishers mean well yes you could carry off this cut if you keep it behind your ears or style it a certain way.
But you deserve better! Take that money and spend it elsewhere and I promise you no one will laugh, they will be wondering what drugs the original stylist was taking this morning and hopefully you can even have a laugh about it and then walk out of there feeling a million quid.

I think straightening isn't the way to go as it shows up the uneven-ness. It really isn't that bad left more natural and tousled as it looks intentionally cool.

Although I know the feeling of having a bad haircut (I tend to let my hairdresser do whatever and I like it better sometimes than others), you always learn something about what you don't want and it does always grow back.

Get some textured wax onto your cut and it will be perfect. I like it and think it's pretty close to brief!

Your hair is gorgeous in texture and colour.
The haircut is awful I'm so sorry!
I can't belive they did that.
As PP have said it looks fine tucked behind your ears and also you could style it as an edgy haircut?!
It's not so bad that I would look twice in the street if you see what I mean but compared to the pics you showed them you wanted...terrible!
I'm sure in a couple of weeks it will look so much better.

I love it tucked behind your ears. Maybe experiment with adding some volume to the back of it to see if you like it more/less that way.

Last hairdresser i used will be my last.
I went in with shoulder long hair asked and show pitcher of what i wanted of a nice very short style i came out with a number 2 buzz cut and a little fluff quiff on top nothing what i asked for.
I went home and shaved it bald that was a year ago i can now tie my hair up again.
Never trust an hairdresser.

I would ask another hairdresser to look at it. It looks like it just needs softening and a lot of the weight taking out on the top/sides to give it more texture, but without taking off any more length. IF this is possible? It definitely needs the ends neatening. That’s rubbish.

It does look cool though.

If it’s any help, I had a very dramatic short cut this weekend that wasn’t what I asked for and wasn’t convinced I liked.
But after a few days of faffing and styling it (plus the hair settling into the cut), I like it a lot more, plus it suits me.

I love this style! The first picture i came on to offer to chin your hairdresser and call him a twat etc, but this style is lovely! I feel a bit guilty now I fully intended to shave his brows 😂

You've a quirky look, get some funky clips like the butterfly ones from the 90s that are making a come back and just style it out, you'll look great.

I once cried at a hair cut and said "it looks like stevie wonder cut it". I was about 13 and i was bullied for months 😂🙈

The work is a bit shoddy, yes. But if this is your first time going short, rule #1 - it never looks like the pictures unstyled. Unless cut very very short.
From the gloss and the shape of the waves the model has had each section done with a straightener and then sprayed.

I agree that no haircut is ever going to look like one in a photo from a magazine - it won't have just been cut, but styled. I think leaving it natural and tousled is the way to go.

I went to Toni and Guy a couple of days before a good friend's wedding. I showed the hairdresser what I wanted and she said that she had loads of experience and knew what I needed. She scalped me and it was horrendously uneven. I went out onto the pavement and burst into tears. DH (then boyfriend) took me in to complain to the manager and he admitted that it was shocking. All he could do was cut it even shorter and offer me two free follow up cuts as it grew.

There's a reason I only have my hair cut about once per year!

I think it looks much better behind your ears while you wait for it to grow down a bit at the sides so you can go somewhere else and get the cut you asked for. If it’s any consolation my BFhas declared my latest disaster as the worst cut he has ever seen on me. I can’t argue with that as it’s true. He usually says 10/10 when I come back and ask him what he thinks but dear god this is a shocker.

I feel for you. I had a haircut a couple of weeks ago for the same reason and I left feeling like crap. It was very mullet like. I ended up taking the scissors to it myself, a la covid lockdown and my boss commented on my lovely new hair! 😂 but I've actually gone too short now to try and fix the problem, so I just need to live with it for a bit.

I'm glad he didn't charge you. I hope once you've styled it a few times yourself, you're happier with it.

It doesn't look horrible, but I understand when it's not what you wanted x
