What to wear to Taylor Swift?

Going to Taylor Swift in June with my daughters. What shall I wear? I’m in my early 50s, size 12. The only thing I’m certain of is that I really want to wear cowboy boots!! Outfit ideas please - the only thing I really can’t wear I think is frills!

@NoOrdinaryMorning why do you have to be so rude? Are people allowed to have fun and enjoy themselves? so miserable.

no advice for OP just so jealous you have tickets! Have fun! 🤩

Can you paraphrase what they said quoting me? Got the notification after it was deleted.

I swear I don't love the drama, it loves me 💁🏼‍♀️ 😂

Pepsipepsi · 04/03/2024 10:37

To the sourpuss mardy posters... It's almost as if people dress to match the theme of the event they're attending.

What odd behaviour for individuals to do (sarcasm). 🤔

I'm going to wear vaguely Reputation theme, black denim shorts, black t shirt and ankle boots and my one concession to buying new is some snake patterned fishnet tights!

Love the idea of cowboy boots, embrace a Debut/Fearless colour theme!

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 04/03/2024 10:56

I'm assuming it's going to be an open air concert. The one time I went to one not open air, I wore a synthetic top which looked great, but thank god I had a vest top underneath as it was in Ally Pally and I sweated like a pig with the first top on!

ObliviousCoalmine · 04/03/2024 11:46

There are three of us (all mid to late 30's) taking my 14 year old daughter in June. I'm fatter than you but will be aiming for something sequinned (start saving searches on vinted now!) and trainers to stop your feet crying by the end.

Bigtrip2026 · 04/03/2024 14:38

Do the posters who complain about the mostly women dressing up for a TS concert also express their disgust at football supporters and their like who wear the teams shirts and scarves ? 🤔

LittleBrenda · 04/03/2024 16:51

I've just read the thread started by @NoOrdinaryMorning asking about a cardigan where she absolutely tears into a poster for saying it's dated. Calling people bitchy and all sorts of other things. Confused

onebusymum · 04/03/2024 19:12

I'm coming upto 50 and going with my DD 14, she has been pinning her outfit for ages, she is doing reputation.
She has told me to pick an ere for my outfit!! So I'm doing Lover! Abit of pink sparkle

SummaLuvin · 04/03/2024 19:42

this is a cool website with ideas linked and organised by Era - it includes plus size, mens, and accessories

Whatever you want, no one will be looking at you.

I mean this in the nicest possible way, but absolutely no one will care what you are wearing.

Oh sorry I thought this 'Style and Beauty' page was where people asked sometimes frivolous things like 'What to wear to xyz?' And then other people who have also been to or plan to go to similar events share ideas and it's quite fun. Threads wouldn't go far would they if everyone just replied 'No one cares' 😅

I'm going Edinburgh night 3. I've already got a sequin playsuit and rainbow rhinestone heels (which convert to flats!!) to wear. My era theme is "Lover". Can't wait 😁 it's irrelevant but I'm 33 and I figure if Taylor can strut around in sequins in a giant stadium then so can I!

I would think about if you want to have a era/album theme. That will give you a colour to wear. Then decide if you want to be comfy or bejewelled. So first would be a Taylor lyric themed tshirt. And the second would be something sparkly.

I would recommend any one to bring fold up flat shoes - but check you can fit them in a small sized bag as each stadium has their own rules of what you can bring in.

Intrigued by the heels that convert to flats!!

I spotted a kinda cropped denim jacket with a fringed heart cut out the back last summer and just loved it. I'm far too old to wear it, but feck it. I have a casual peach/pink ribbed dress that I'll probably wear with it and then I want some colourful trainers. It's kinda an homage to 2 different lover outfits (I hate the neon one though).

I love this jacket!

This is quite folklore but the split makes it a bit more doable.

That's so pretty. I like the split -- makes it less sort of mumsy I think?

Is this a "who is Taylor Swift anyway? Ew" moment 😂

before she comes to the UK with her xx million economy injection! 😂

No one will "mind", but the outfits will be a joy if you want to do that OP.
so much to fun to be had with outfits ....

I'd pick Bejewelled if I was going. Some people are even going as her instruments now! Or as individual song lines. Lots of inspiration online.

So not just dressing as Eras.
I'd be wary of cowboy boots because you need to be comfy but if you want, you could just be "cowboy like me" 🤗

But someone mentioned heels that convert into flats, sounds great!

Enjoy! Let us know what you go for. I'm so enjoying seeing all the outfits.

Busy looking on Vinted for wide-fit cowboy or cowboy-style boots for comfort!

I literally couldn't name a single song by Taylor Swift but from googling "Eras" if I were going and money were no object, I'd wear this- scroll along to the catwalk video.

Alémais corset dress

Isn't that incredible?! Might be a bit unmanageable in Wembley Stadium in June though ...

Oh! I'm taking DD and neice - she said they'd be dressing up but it didn't cross my mind that I could too. Great excuse to dig out a sparkly number Grin although it sounds as thought it's more complicated than that...

I’m going to Liverpool with dd. I’m in the process of losing weight (1 stone down so far) and hoping I’ll be slimmer and can enjoy dressing up that bit more by then so not made a real plan yet.
I do know that I want to wear something I couldn’t wear on an ordinary day so not jeans or everyday dress. Comfort is v important to me, can’t stand any scratchy sequins or high heels. And it’s June so could be quite warm or also freezing/raining so that needs to be taken into account too.
Probably a long dress will be my starting point, I can sew ok so I will look for something to customise.

Yes I'm beginning to think a long dress might be a plan: but as you say, not something just ordinary. I genuinely think this is an iconic event and I want to feel fabulous out with my girls! hope you have a fab time 😊

That would be a stunning outfit: not sure I can pull that off, but maybe I'll suggest it to one of my daughters!

I’m taking my 3dc in August and they’ve spent the evening discussing outfits, shoes and hair. Dh is looking confused and keeps reminding them it’s 5 months away 🤣🤣🤣

wonderstuff · 04/03/2024 21:04

Great thread, I’m going with dd16 and a couple of her friends, no idea what I’m wearing really love your pics @TeenLifeMum

Thank you so much everyone: loads of ideas and advice. Now to decide between a tulle skirt and denim jacket, or a floaty summery dress!

Great fun. Glad I can take joy in things like this and not in being horrible to strangers on the internet!
