Outfittery formerly Stitch fix

WhyDoesItAlways · 20/02/2024 11:14

Are any other previous Stitch Fix customers getting constantly spammed by Outfittery. Apparently my next box is being delivered in 2 days which I never asked for and the cancel feature on their website doesn't work so I've had to email them instead.

I wouldn't have minded so much if they had asked if I wanted to move across to them first.

Has anyone used Outfittery? What are they like?

I didn't think outfittery had taken over stitchfix? SF still exists they just don't operate in the U.K. anymore. OF is a different company so not sure how you're signed up - are you sure it's not just fake spam?

They do free returns though and you can refuse the parcel if delivered (which is their advice).

I was a stitch fix customer and when they sold to outfittery I decided I wouldn't bother anymore. However I received an email from outfittery to say along the lines of, congrats on setting up your account, then shortly after another email to say my box was on its way! I didn't even have any account details to be able to log in and cancel it. So the box arrived nearly two weeks ago and I just opened it last night. There's a lot of stuff in there and I'm really not sure what to do. They haven't emailed me since and as far as I know they don't have my bank details (stitch fix better not have sold my bank details anyway!). I'm thinking of leaving it another week or two then unsubscribing.

Flatleak · 20/02/2024 11:32

Ah this might be useful, seems OF have bought the subscriptions and details of customers! uk.trustpilot.com/review/outfittery.com

Cyclingmummy1 · 20/02/2024 11:49

I've had the same. I emailed them and they've replied today to say my data had been removed. Let's see what happens next as my box was supposed to be ready for dispatch yesterday...

Pamperpartypooper · 20/02/2024 12:05

I received an email from Stitchfix before they closed saying that they were passing (selling) data on to a new company and giving the option to opt out by clicking on a link. The link didn’t work. I emailed them to say that I did not give permission for them to transfer my data to a third party and got a reply saying that my account showed I had successfully opted out. I haven’t had anything from the new company.

Looking back at the original email, it states that ‘your stitchfix account will be transferred to Outfittery on December 6th’ so I wouldn’t be too surprised if that included bank details. No idea of the legality of this!

I must have missed that email. Interestingly the button to confirm you want to cancel your subscription also doesn't work. They've either got some shit Web developers or they're deliberately making it difficult to opt out or cancel.

I have emailed customer services but looking at those trustpilot reviews I don't expect to hear anything so will do as PP suggests and refuse the parcel.

I used my credit card with Stitch fix so worst case I'll go down the section 75 route if they try and charge me anything.

My DH had this. Suddenly a box with £500 of unwanted clothes from Outfittery was out for despatch and he was signed up for auto deliveries. He hadn't even bothered to set up an account as he wasn't in the market so then couldn't see the order or switch anything off.

The clothes seemed on a par with Stitch Fix but he hadn't requested them and it all went back and seemed a terrible waste of time all round. So much more (volume and cost) than had ever been sent in a Stitch Fix box. We have managed to switch off auto delivery now too so hopefully that's the end of this.

I have also received a few boxes from Stitch Fix in the past (but never kept anything so that must be it) and they haven't sent me anything.

GettingStuffed · 20/02/2024 20:26

They shouldn't have bought your payment details so report them for breach of GPDR

AtomicBlondeRose · 20/02/2024 20:28

I had this - being sent an email saying I was getting a box! But I emailed them and heard basically straight back to say it was cancelled.

Dappy55 · 28/02/2024 16:39

I actually had a box, not as nice as stitchfix but kept 2 things

Mswest · 03/03/2024 16:49

Received a box today that I didn't ask for have never signed up with this company. Worth £400+ and no idea how to return it as I don't actually have an account with them and don't want to create one. Really annoyed that data including bank details can be passed on like that. My bank said they can't stop payments to them until the first one comes out then they can block future ones. So I'll just need to return box to them recorded delivery at my own expense and hope that's the end of it. Raging!

My advice is to do nothing and say nothing. On Thursday it'll be a month since they sent my box and I haven't heard from them since. I'm pretty sure they don't have my bank details. If they contact me to say they've made a mistake and that they'll come round and collect the box then fine, they're welcome to do that. But I'm making no effort to send back their stuff, especially as they've stopped contacting me!

unlikelychump · 03/03/2024 21:14

Thanks for the thread. I've been trying to work why they are scamming me and it turns out they have my credit card details...

unlikelychump · 03/03/2024 21:25

*spamming

WhyDoesItAlways · 04/03/2024 10:13

I got confirmation of my cancellation email and didn't receive a box so I'm hoping that's the end of it now.

Sorry other people still seem to be having trouble with them.

Dammit, they took the money, £550! However my bank have been great and returned it to my account straight away, plus cancelled my card so they can't try again. I don't know what outfittery are going to do now, seeing as I have their stuff and they can't get any money off me!?

Mswest · 09/03/2024 17:35

In case in helps anyone else I signed up (after my box arrived out of the blue 🙄) and filled out their weird form to unsubscribe, as well as a very tetchy email asking to be removed and an official request for all my data to be deleted. They emailed back saying we were given the option to opt out etc but that royal mail would collect the box the next day (which they did today) and all details would be deleted. Will update thread if anything goes wrong. I'd tried trading standards and didn't get far because they aren't a UK company.

Georgieporgie29 · 13/03/2024 10:41

I have just received an email saying my box is being despatched. As previous people have said I had an account with stitch fix and had used them but I don’t recall getting an email from them saying they were selling my details to outfittery. I’m pretty angry tbh, how dare they.

I have replied to the email asking them not to send the box and to cancel my account. Hopefully this will be enough.

I have never set up an account with outfittery but I have been receiving emails from them, I’ve only clicked on one and that was to unsubscribe so clearly that didn’t work.

WhyDoesItAlways · 13/03/2024 11:39

None of their unsubscribe buttons work to the point I wondered whether it was deliberate.

They did respond to my email and cancelled my box so hopefully they will do that for you too.

I had a stitch fix account (actually really liked the stuff they would send me), and randomly got an outfittery box sent, all the stuff was not at all my style at all and I had to faff about with setting up an account so that I could check out and say I didn't want any of it. Anyway they took £35 off me still! I had to email and they eventually refunded but what a faff for something I never asked for!

Georgieporgie29 · 13/03/2024 15:21

I’ve just spoken to my DH and he said he’s had a message off evri to say he has a delivery out but he hasn’t ordered anything so probably a scam. Turns out he may have had an email from outfittery a few days ago but didn’t even open it and just deleted it 🙄 he’s going to check when he gets back to the office. I’m now like a meerkat waiting for a delivery man so I can refuse it at the door before they just chuck it over the fence like they usually do even when I’m in.

Hopefully I’ve emailed in time and mine will just get cancelled so I wont have to do this again.

museumum · 15/03/2024 14:14

I’ve just had a letter from outfittery so have had to login to their site to contact them to delete my account. Should have done that back when stitch fix shut. Fingers crossed no boxes arrive in the meantime.

ferretface · 15/03/2024 14:55

Report them to the ICO for breach of GDPR

custardlover · 15/03/2024 23:09

I got an outfittery box and actually I really liked it and kept four things!

Mamakaterina · 15/03/2024 23:30

I've been getting emails from them for the last few weeks and ignoring them, I haven't clicked any links or visited their website. Luckyly i looked them up on here and trust pilot so was ready when a big box turned up yesterday so I refused the delivery. When I had stitch fix they used to take money from my debit card so I'm hoping I don't get billed for anything as its all been sent back. Hopefully that is the end of it and nothing else turns up...
