Outfittery formerly Stitch fix

WhyDoesItAlways · 20/02/2024 11:14

Are any other previous Stitch Fix customers getting constantly spammed by Outfittery. Apparently my next box is being delivered in 2 days which I never asked for and the cancel feature on their website doesn't work so I've had to email them instead.

I wouldn't have minded so much if they had asked if I wanted to move across to them first.

Has anyone used Outfittery? What are they like?

I got an Outfittery box and found it much nicer than SF.

Mainly european brands, well made items, with a classic styling. I kept more than I thought I would!

Mswest · 16/03/2024 07:59

I didn't even look at whether the stuff was nice the fact they sent me it and billed me for it without my permission was enough for me not to want to be a customer. Likewise if stitchfix started up again I'd never sign up to them again after selling on my information like that. It caused me hassle and I'm a busy person. The whole thing has made me rethink subscribing to any similar service again tbh. Also when I did sign in to try and return the website was awful. Plus terrible communication - took nearly 2 weeks for a reply to my emails probably because they were swamped with people asking why they'd been sent a box they didn't request! Not a good way to do things at all.

BirdIsland · 16/03/2024 08:10

I received my first Outfittery box yesterday (I was annoyed stitchfix had flogged my details, but had been planning on finding a replacement service so just went with it).

There were a couple of items I really like and will be keeping, and they're Europeans brands you can't actually get in this country and look to be really good quality, so from that perspective I'm pleased. Other items weren't very me but I'm hoping that improves.

As a bit of an update after receiving an email saying my box was ready to be despatched and me replying saying I don’t want it please cancel.

they replied a few days later saying too late it’s already been despatched 🙄 told me to refuse at the door.

obviously it got delivered when I was out and left at the side of the house so as advised by them via email, I just opened the box put the returns label on and took it back to the post office. I didn’t even touch the clothes let alone open them up.

anyway I received an email on Tuesday saying they’ve received the box back and I just need to pay for the item I kept, I replied straight away to say I didn’t keep anything.

so today they’ve taken the money from my account and emailed me a receipt saying I’m all paid up now.

im absolutely fuming, how can they get away with this?! 😡

That's awful. I think I would report to trading standards.

And your bank/card issuer to dispute the transaction.

OP posts:
Georgieporgie29 · 28/03/2024 10:33

@WhyDoesItAlways yes, I’ve been on to the bank this morning. The amount is still pending so they can’t do anything yet but as soon as I see it hit the account I need to ring them back and they will dispute it, they’ve also put a block on the company going forward so they can’t take any more after this. I think I will look into trading standards because I just can’t see how this is right, thanks.

Mswest · 28/03/2024 11:46

I contacted trading standards they said because it is not an UK country they couldn't deal with it.

Ah ok, thanks. I still just can’t get over how they are allowed to do it.

I know it's really bad. I sent this:
'You have sent me a box that I did not order. Please can you arrange collection of this immediately and confirm in writing that my details are removed from your database.
I do not consent to you holding my information or taking any money from my account. Can you also confirm receipt of this email asap.'
They then send me a weird cancellation form within an email that I sent back and quite quickly after that they sent royal mail round to collect the parcel and confirmed account is closed.
I don't know how all this can even be allowed it's a massive misuse of peoples data imo.

Poachedeggavocado · 28/03/2024 14:35

I had this. Knew nothing until the box was delivered already because all their emails went to spam. I contacted them immediately saying 'who the hell are you and why are you sending me products I never signed up for'. I sent them all back £440 worth because I didn't want to risk them taking it from my account and fighting to get it back. I will never buy anything from them ever now. I didn't even check to see if I liked the clothes I was so incensed. What a stupid business model.

Kejikel · 28/03/2024 23:55

I saw the emails 6 weeks ago that said the outfittery would arrive and I thought what's that? Did I really sign up for another company like this? I didn't get round to opening the box for a while because I just couldn't be bothered with the whole try it on, take it back malarkey. I finally got round to it today. The clothes are stunning but I can't afford 414 quid! So I went online to select the items I would send back and was shocked to find a. I needed to actually set up an account. B. I was charged after 7 days (I thought we were legally entitled to return within 30). C. I hadn't been sent any reminder emails like I had with stichfix asking me to return unwanted items. So I went and read all previous emails and was outraged that my details had all been transferred and I was being charged for a service I did not ask for. I looked on the website for return/cancel info. Called the number I found on google. Looked on here and realized I was in a bit of trouble. I quickly checked bank statements to see what the name of the charge would be so I could ask my bank to refuse future payments and thats when I realized that they have an old debit card details. So, payment never went through. Not sure what to do but I will keep all items to oneside incase I get a bang.on the door in the near future I can't help giggling bcos I feel like I scammed the scammer. Just a little.

A box of £500 worth of clothes has been delivered to me this morning! DH accepted the delivery. I emailed them a week ago when I realised it wasn’t spam and asked them not to deliver anything to me and to delete all my data so wasn’t expecting anything to turn up. I have emailed again today to ask them to arrange collection but not received a reply yet. I’m really worried they’re going to take payment. I used to pay StitchFix via PayPal - I have logged into PayPal and cancelled any recurring payment to Stitch fix…does anyone know if Outfittery can take money out of my PayPal even though I haven’t authorised anything?

BlunderMifflin · 04/04/2024 13:21

I've had a letter through the post offering me £25 off my first fix with them, and asking me to go on their website and create an account. I assumed from reading this thread that I would automatically already have an account as it would've been transferred over from Stitch Fix? I don't want it anyway. So not sure what to do. Definitely can't be doing with a £500 box of random clothes turning up!!

SaltBlossom · 04/04/2024 13:22

DP got sent a box (which he hadn't asked for). We opened it and looked at the stuff, packed it all back up and returned it all. He then got an email to say please pay for the item you have kept. He emailed and said he didn't keep anything! Not heard back yet.

tobee · 04/04/2024 14:55

Wtf are they playing at?

madness! So they didn’t take payment automatically?
To be on the safe side I have delinked my bank account and debit card from PayPal for the time being…

SaltBlossom · 04/04/2024 16:21

They don't seem to have his bank details. I've let him deal with it so far as I've been so busy, but I'm going to log into his account later (which we had to set up for the return!)

SaltBlossom · 04/04/2024 16:22

They didn't acknowledge his email. I'm a bit concerned that if they pursue the good they say we have kept then we will end in the small claims court over a £80 pair of chinos

They requested the payment out of my account a few days after getting this email. I then had to wait for it to move from pending so I could dispute with the bank. That happened yesterday so I rang them and explained again, I have then had an email today from the bank asking for the information again 🙄

in the meantime, I emailed outfittery raising this with them and I’ve had 2 separate emails over the course of the last week basically saying, we’re busy but will get back to you soon.

so so pissed off with it all!

I was a stitch fix customer and when they sold to outfittery I decided I wouldn't bother anymore. However I received an email from outfittery to say along the lines of, congrats on setting up your account, then shortly after another email to say my box was on its way! I didn't even have any account details to be able to log in and cancel it. So the box arrived nearly two weeks ago and I just opened it last night. There's a lot of stuff in there and I'm really not sure what to do. They haven't emailed me since and as far as I know they don't have my bank details (stitch fix better not have sold my bank details anyway!). I'm thinking of leaving it another week or two then unsubscribing.

Hi I have just received a box that I did not order and I do not want. I have emailed Outfittery numerous times but they dont reply. How did you deal with the box you had?

Baronessb · 05/04/2024 15:32

I have received a box yesterday. I didnt ask for it, i havent accessed anything on Outfittery's website and most certainly have not ordered a thing or confirmed an account with them. I have emailed them numerous times over the last month telling them to stop emailing me and that I do not have an account with them, or want anything from them. All I get are emails saying they are 'busy' and will respond. I used to pay for Stitchfix via Paypal so I have cancelled that payment source. Its madness! How can they sent unsolicited unordered boxes of clothes out like this !

WhyDoesItAlways · 05/04/2024 17:52

I've just looked at them on trustpilot and found this reply they left on someone's review which contains an email address which may help some of you. Judging by their trust pilot reviews I expect they'll be out of business soon!

I am very sorry to hear that you have not yet received a reply from us!

Could I ask you to send an email to [email protected] with your order number? I will immediately review your case!

My sincere apologies for the inconvenience, I can assure you that we will take all the measures we can in order to support you, and I am very sorry for the stressful situation caused for you

bettybyebye · 10/04/2024 11:05

I’ve had one email from them saying - sorry we haven’t got back to you yet, we are receiving an unexpected surge in emails…err maybe that’s because you’re sending boxes of clothes to people who HAVEN’T ORDERED them!
I have then had another auto email saying I need to send any returns I don’t want!
I don’t have an account with them and will not be making one to send returns. I have told them to arrange collection of the box so will see what they say. Have also double checked I didn’t have a recurring payment to stitch fix on my bank account, had already sorted pay pal 🤞🏻
Has anyone else managed to get them to collect an unordered box?!

Twinwife · 11/04/2024 09:56

Hi my husband has exactly the same problem. He received a box opened it closed it and sent it back. He also had an email from them asking him to pay for the item that he had kept. He managed to call them and speak to somebody and he got a refund for that item,

I have now been getting emails from the company and have sent about three emails asking them to remove me from their mailing list. I have not received any reply from them apart from saying that they are busy. I received an email from them today telling me a box is on the way with items totalling £500, I emailed them telling them not to send the box. I am sure it will turn up if I am. I will refuse the delivery .

I am absolutely outraged with the way this company is doing their business.

However, I am confident that I will not lose money to them falling my husband’s experience. This is so frustrating!
