Everyone has shiny cheeks

It's over foundation so nothing to do with healthy skin or a serum.
Lots of actresses now have these lovely shiny cheeks, anyone know what product would go over foundation to achieve this without budging the foundation?

Highlighter :)

BananaSpanner · 10/02/2024 23:07

Highlighter and/or a cream blush.

AnonymousUsername123 · 10/02/2024 23:10

Cream blusher is everywhere now. Glossier is the big name that is often recommended. I tried it but I couldn't get on with it, just didn't suit me and I found it a faff.

Highlighter is also a possibility, Benefit do various popular ones, moonbeam I think is one I have. Again, I don't really use it. I've realised I'm shiny enough.

AnonymousUsername123 · 10/02/2024 23:11

I am going to have to try that No7 one. I'm such a sucker for trying new makeup!

IncyWincyCaterpillar · 10/02/2024 23:14

Dewy setting spray keeps your foundation in place.

MorrisZapp · 10/02/2024 23:15

You can use almost anything. Tap a bit of lip gloss or lip balm onto your cheeks, they will glisten.

Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter under foundation.

Mac Crème Colour in Hush on cheekbones.

AMagottyGrub · 10/02/2024 23:25

It needs to start under the foundation really. Proper skin hydration, prep and primer. Powder blush swapped for liquid or cream blush, it gives a much nicer dewy effect if you choose the right texture. Very light dusting of loose powder on the t zone, no 'baking', light setting sprays and cream highlighter.

Yep. Don't spend on something new - my DD17 uses a gold eyeshadow on her cheeks just beneath the eyes.

Fabulous suggestions, thank you. I've tried lip gloss/vaseline but it doesn't seem to last on me.
I'm going to enjoy looking up the options😊

Elf halo glow

littlemousebigcheese · 10/02/2024 23:51

Glossier is awful, don't bother. Every blush I've tried looks shit. Best cream blushers I've found are Charlotte tilbury pops, or even super cheap ones from revolution and elf.
Best Charlotte tilbury Hollywood filter dupe ive found is aldi lacura or collection but primark does one too that's actually pretty decent! Elf was too orange
Great moisturiser first, a decent foundation on top of flawless filter. Cream blusher, tiny bit of dr paw paw in the red tube as it's glossy, not sticky but has a lovely sheen that looks great on top of make up and then a setting spray!

CherryBlossom321 · 10/02/2024 23:53

Clinique chubby stick highlighter, or ELF daily dew stick are my favourites.

Halfwaytheree · 10/02/2024 23:56

I’m going to go against the grain here. The whole “glass skin” look has been trending for a couple of years and it’s mainly glowy face mists that will get you there eg the Tatcha one. Coupled with good skincare. It’s not really the makeup that gets you that look.

Bringtheweatherwithyou · 11/02/2024 00:01

I use Nars Afterglow liquid blush and like it but it is very subtle. On the too rare occasions I go out, I put Bobbi Brown shimmer brick highlighter on top.

ETA The face mist mentioned above looks interesting though. I'm off to research it!

It's not everyone's cup of tea but I do like the Jones Road Miracle Balm. (Sparingly used!) I opt for the neutral on its own or over a bit of foundation.

Agree with @Howtheweeshtwaswon - the Jones Road Miracle Balm is great, when blended well. Otherwise my Dh says I have glitter on my face.

CinnamonJellyBeans · 11/02/2024 01:42

Another vote for Jones Road Miracle balm.

skmissty · 11/02/2024 01:48

I've been using this and it's glorious.

I I need more coverage as this isn't really a foundation I'll push some concealer in with a damp sponge just where I need to cover.

Lightly powder around nose and set concealer then use the hourglass highlighter on high points! Glowy but not glittery or metallic shiny!

The Dior highlighter palate is great for a night out! Properly illuminating. Shows up lovely on photos too.

Yes I’d third this. My teen introduced me to it but it gives a nice glow.

SeriousFaffing · 11/02/2024 06:19

Stila Convertible Color cream blush really is the best on cheeks - and used by celebrities such a Blake Lively. The finish is gorgeous, and looks shiny in a healthy, youthful way. I’ve found that it doesn’t move my foundation and lasts well. Never had so many compliments on a blusher before wearing this. My favourite shade is Petunia.

ImDuranDuran · 11/02/2024 06:31

I saw Fluid Sheer by Armani in a video recently which seems to give the 'goss cheeks' look, can anyone recommend it? Boots have it on for £25 at the minute but would like some reassurance first Grin
