Everyone has shiny cheeks

It's over foundation so nothing to do with healthy skin or a serum.
Lots of actresses now have these lovely shiny cheeks, anyone know what product would go over foundation to achieve this without budging the foundation?

Goss cheeks = glass cheeks Wink

For me too much highlighter can look like you’re under a fluorescent light have seen that before.

I’ve started to use a liquid blusher by Daniel Sandler which I reordered last year to wear after I tried it. That gives a glow. Dior blush in hologlam also does that, sparkles. I find cream blush doesn’t work for me. I’ll go back to a highlighter too but tried a couple like moonbeam by Becca and Benefit ones and sometimes I like them, sometimes not. Will have a look at the other products.

Another vote for Elf halo glow. There's the big bottle of highlighter but the also do small tubes in different blush shades.

Elber · 11/02/2024 07:04

Isn’t it just the mica in these products that make you look ‘glowy’ - ground up shiny particles? And then sold as some sort of nourishing radiance?

Fraaahnces · 11/02/2024 07:28

Try NARS The Multiple in Orgasm if you want an easy, glowy blush, or in Copacana (pearly colour) or my fave, South Beach. These things are absolutely idiot-proof.

WolfFoxHare · 11/02/2024 07:33

I wish shiny noses were a thing. I’m in my forties but still have quite a greasy t zone. In fact, I’m naturally quite ‘dewy’ but so pale with dark circles that I can’t get away with not wearing make up at all to let the shine shine through.

Can I ask a question about the multiple in Orgasm? It’s my SIL’s favourite blusher in powder form. She has oily skin though and uses a powder compact foundation. She’s also had her second child October last year. Would this suit her skin and how easy is it for her to use please?

I also really like the liquid blush by Daniel Sandler too

My cheeks were seriously shiny the other day. I'd mixed Lush Shangri-la with 8 hour cream to keep the cold weather at bay.

You sound like me. What have you found that helps?

As for cream blusher, the Max Factor one is nice. It’s not that long lasting unfortunately, but applies easily (I’m useless so if I say it, it must be true). It’s also buildable. I have it in a dark colour, but apply the tiniest bit on my pale skin and the colour is lovely. It leaves my cheeks looking glowy. Nars Orgasm liquid blusher is nice- I found the colour to be slightly different from the powder.

If anyone can find this now, Bourjois poudre riz de Java, is a highlighting and mattifying powder. Gives a glow like highlighter.

raspberryjuiceandpompoms · 11/02/2024 09:11

The trend is called glass skin. Have a look on insta or TikTok. Basically, to do with skincare

Filterphobia · 11/02/2024 09:13

I’m going to go against what others have said, I may get shot down for this but… I’m going to suggest it’s possible it’s HA fillers not makeup. Personally I wouldn’t have fillers myself as I would be too scared of something going wrong. I know a few people who have these and this is what achieves that glowing skin look. Is this what you mean OP is it shimmer on top of makeup which is likely highlighter or is it glowing plumper skin?

Karensgoldleggings · 11/02/2024 09:27

I don't think people understand what the glass skin is.
It's not blush or highlighter it's colourless shiny skin.
Part of the "clean girl" trend
Obsessive skin care with dewy primer or vaseline " slugging"
Helps if you are 18 Op 😂

LemmysBullet · 11/02/2024 09:35

This Revolution balm gives the glass effect.

I have that , it has a tiny bit of colour.
Nice to whack on lips and cheeks to stop the walking dead look but hair has to be up or you spend all day picking your stuck hair off it 😂

XiCi · 11/02/2024 10:01

Primer, dewy foundation, cream blush, highlighter.
Botox/fillers/profhilo also give that shiny glow

Fumnudge · 11/02/2024 13:12

Thanks for all the recs.
I'm not a fan of primer but maybe I've just chosen badly.
I was also trying to keep the layers of products to a minimum for everyday use (I have to wear foundation, and I put a translucent powder on my T zone only) so I'll try without primer first and now I know to introduce it if needed.

My skin texture is fine, small pores, bump free but v uneven tone and lots of thread veins so I can go out naked!

I think I prefer a cream to a powder looks wise and definitely want to avoid any obvious 'silver sheen'; I was after a slick glow more than an obvious glitter you can get in powder blush.

I'm really excited to try some products out.
Again, thanks

Trinny London does face gloss blusher / lip tints.

Olindia · 11/02/2024 19:29

Nothing much! I sometimes use an YSL highlighter stick to add a bit of glow to my cheekbones but mostly I just use powder on my shiny nose. On the plus side, I have very few lines so far - there’s some advantage to having greasy skin!

Thank you. I find blotting papers good too. I keep hearing how oily skin = slow to get lines, but sadly I’ve got the lines too!
