I've always liked dressing pretty/girly. My style I fantasise as being inspired by Carrie's early fancy style in Sex and the City.

I decided I want some more stuff for my look after a 50s style cotton floral halter neck swing dress phase.

I thought, why not party dresses (not massively OTT.) I didn't want to spend much so went for shein. I can always buy a more durable brand at a later date.

Please don’t buy from Shein they are not ethical and slave labour comes to mind and unsafe materials. A lot of the pics are also stolen from other people.

it would be nice to have shoulders that could carry those straps. I did when I was 15 but not since.

Love the fun dresses style 🤩

I've previously bought some lovely dresses in that style from collectif. They're generally brightly coloured, cotton, and just generally a delight to wear. Ditto Fever London and Nomads. I find sizing on all three to be pretty accurate so should be fairly ok to buy on vinted.

I don't understand how you've shopped for decades and only have 4 outfits to show for it though

@chiwwy I had a lot of charity shop finds and to be honest they really weren't very good- ill fitting or in some other way not quite as I would want. So last spring I decided I was going to spend a bit more to get outfits that had more of the shape I wanted and stuff.

I'm the opposite of a hoarder, I tend to throw things away and then (not in this instance really) realise a few months later that I need the thing.
