I've been asked this and I'm not happy about giving my answer ... Would you wear these to your own wedding?

They're ridiculous, common and nasty

New2024 · 28/01/2024 15:28

No sorry, don’t like them and they are not shoes

mitogoshi · 28/01/2024 15:31

It's a no from me - im wearing trainers to mine Grin

Metallicant · 28/01/2024 15:42

Awful

FreebieWallopFridge · 28/01/2024 15:45

Got, they’re awful. Really bad.

Wexone · 28/01/2024 15:47

No no no. I love shoes and picked a fab pair for my wedding day. but also picked a pair that I would wear over and over again. which I have done loads since got married. give me a good feeling when pit them on.
these are up there with all the tack your supose to buy for your wedding that will never be worn again. like dressing gowns with bride and bridesmaid on them, slippers glasses with bride to be on them such a waste of money

Wexone · 28/01/2024 15:49

Op there are far more beautiful shoes out there to wear on your wedding day to suit all budgets from flats to kitten heel to stilettos. all styles. plus you can wear again. just not these

NashvilleQueen · 28/01/2024 15:49

I hate:
The colour
The flatness
The style
The cheapness of the emblem bit
The font
The word 'wifey'
The rhyme 'wifey for lifey'

Icantbedoingwithit · 28/01/2024 15:50

God no OP, absolutely horrendous.

FrederickTrottersville · 28/01/2024 15:52

Oh God, I'm.going to have to gauge out my eyes and rinse them in neat bleach now...

GooseClues · 28/01/2024 15:54

I like them!
I think they would look tacky if added to an otherwise classic wedding or if the bride is very “hun” and they were clearly not meant ironically, but would be absolutely fine in a kitschy or more unusual setting.

kitsuneghost · 28/01/2024 15:56

I don't like them but nobody sees your feet. You could wear verruca socks and no-one would notice

5128gap · 28/01/2024 15:58

I very much doubt the bride to be is genuinely asking for your opinion on the asthetic and style statement of the shoes. They're clearly a joke shoe that would be worn by someone who found them amusing, either literally or ironically. I'd imagine she was asking if you found them funny, not if they were the best choice for her dress.

Sebsaloysius · 28/01/2024 15:58

I'd rather eat my own knickers than don these. There aren't enough words to express how dreadful they are!

That's the second time I have seen them referred to as hun.
Do protestants wear different shoes or something?
Is it because they are expensive?

mynameiscalypso · 28/01/2024 16:02

I mean, no way would I wear them (and my DH does refer to me as 'wifey' from time to time because it amuses him) but they also just look so bloody uncomfortable. I wouldn't want to be dancing all night in them.

muddyford · 28/01/2024 16:03

I don't need to think. I KNOW these are tacky.

“Hun” in this case refers to the type of person who calls others hun all the time, likes general bland marketing things like “live, love, laugh” signs, probably really wants a Stanley mug right now and maybe has her own boss babe business that’s in reality an MLM.

I don’t think these shoes are aimed at these type of people but I can see how they would appeal to someone who unironically refers to herself as wifey.

Viamar · 28/01/2024 16:14

Just tacky, hideous

Oblomov23 · 28/01/2024 16:21

No. Horrible, tacky, cheap and nasty, and ugly.

PurplePansy05 · 28/01/2024 16:22

They're awful.

theemmadilemma · 28/01/2024 16:23

Fuck no.

MissSookieStackhouse · 28/01/2024 16:29

Are you sure they are actual wedding shoes? They look more like something the bride might wear for a laugh at the hen do.

Exactly. And as for pp saying no one wil see them it’s very common for only the shoes to be photographed next to bridal flowers or with some jewelry or daintily posed on the back or seat of the chair. Shoes are very much a bridal statement. I so dislike the term wifey it seems so minimally aspirational. Wife. Husband not some corny diminutive. Encourage her to go elegant with a shoe that will flatter the shape and arch of her foot.

Surely pictures of wedding shoes next to wedding flowers is tacky AF anyway. So they maybe wouldn't be so out of place.
