Those Uniqlo bags

I have 3, I love them, I don't know how I lived without them.

BUT...how on earth does anyone find anything in them? Nothing stays in the pockets, it all ends up in a swirled up soup of stuff and take ages to actually find something when I need it 😂

It could just be me of course, I'm prepared to accept that!
Maybe I'm putting too much in there?
looking at 4 lip glosses, mouth spray, gloves (one pair today but sometimes 2),tissues, 2 purses, tiny hand cream, house keys, tiny spray bottle, 3 half used packs of gum, 3 hair bands, plus probably some other stuff I can't see at first glance

Late to the party, what is this Uniqlo bag the OP is talking about? 😁

LouisaMayAlcott · 15/01/2024 17:53

I have loads of handbags but I use my corduroy Uniqlo bag all the time. I love how much I can fit in it if needed. Currently I have: 2 lippys and 2 lip salve in the side pockets, notebook, phone, purse, tissues, inhaler and hand gel in the main part. I love that it's small but I can also fit my kindle and memo bottle in there when I'm going out for the day.

TheChosenTwo · 15/01/2024 17:55

I got dd 2 for Christmas, plain black and then orange corduroy - she uses a little pouch thing inside for small makeup bits, then her keys are loose and phone is always in her pocket.
I wouldn’t fancy them for the same reason though, everything would get lost!

YorkshireOldGal · 15/01/2024 17:57

Have considered them but noticed the care instruction say do not wash or dry clean. Has anyone tried hand-washing?

I’ve it mine in the wash and it came out fine.

MurielThrockmorton · 15/01/2024 18:38

I don't lose things in there, probably because I don't put much in, and I like the roominess, but I'm always worried when I unzip it that everything is going to fall out because of the positioning of the zip. I keep anything valuable in the zip pocket at the back.

EffortlessDelegation · 15/01/2024 18:46

I've washed both corduroy and nylon ones in the washing machine with no ill effects.

largeprintagathachristie · 15/01/2024 19:08

The bags used to have a second zipped pocket which ran along the back.

Was really disappointed when I bought another one recently; it’s smaller overall and the back zipped pocket is gone. I imagine much cheaper to make!

ChaoticBag · 15/01/2024 19:12

I tried washing the green one, it didn't go well. It ended up with weird water marks all over it. So logically, it a good idea to buy the new cream/stone one because it will look awful in no time probably buying it anyway

Okay I'm going to try putting a little bag in there - as well as my two purses - and also I will try very hard to shed some of the stuff I'm carrying around.
One purse has actual purse-like contents, cards etc. The other has my work ID card and keys.

I could possibly shed a lip gloss here and a Vaseline there. We'll see.

I like having it all so handy though, that's what I love about these bags. I started using them after getting my phone stolen again so I can keep all my important stuff zipped up close to me.

Ah I need that pocket!

I stopped using mine for the time being after it got completely soaked the other day

I'll use it again in the summer because I love how light it is and it's the perfect size for me

I washed DDs cream one after it got mucky at a festival in the washing machine

It washed and dried brilliantly and looked like new

I probably did it on a 30 degree 15 minute fast wash

UnicornCloud · 15/01/2024 19:29

I used Ariel gel if that helps

Catsfrontbum · 15/01/2024 20:27

Love mine.
Inside I have
one small card purse
one smallish makeup bag-
gloss, hand sanitizer, blush stick, paracetamol
tissues
glasses
keys- in a side pocket
phone
AirPods- in side pocket
small notebook and pen
wrist Warmers

I don't carry a bag. I have pockets in a jacket. I put phone, wallet, keys, etc in these two pockets.

This isn't really the thread for you then as it's specifically about Uniqlo bags which you don't have

EbonyWood · 15/01/2024 13:33

Can someone please tell me what is so amazing about this bag? Not a snarky comment, genuinely curious!

I was skeptical but believe the hype.

It's a high cross body and the first bag I have ever owned that is truly imo hands free.

-cheap as chips
-i can sling it on, Forget about it & run round after lunatic toddler. easily. It's never in the way, I don't have to reposition it or adjust the strap, it's just on.
-Super light weight.
-When I need to get something it's not SO close to my body I'm fiddling about.
-Nothing escapes the bag due to zip which is v free running.
-it holds a lot /enough. Sunglasses, keys, wallet, small sunscreen, small packet wipes, cards, water bottle, the all important snacks, maybe a small toy, lipbalm.

😂😂😂why would you even open up this thread let alone post that.

GothConversionTherapy · 16/01/2024 05:50

I'm a late adopter (as usual) but I love it for travelling, all your things are safely in front and close. I have an o-ring that I clip to the zip pull to make it harder for pickpockets. It also is flat and light to put in a suitcase if you don't need it.
Also, when you sit down you can just loosen the strap instead of finding somewhere to put your bag.
I'm curious see if they're a passing fad, or will stay around and be a new, standard bag shape. Agree we don't look like teenage boys!

These. I agree about them being the only truly hands-free bag. They stay put, don't restrict your arm movement in any way, you don't have to move them to get things in and out, feel light as a feather (a normal cross body bag gives me back/shoulder ache after a few hours). I have the black cord one and have used it as an evening bag by shortening the strap to handbag length and taking most of the stuff out, as well as day to day in casual mode.

Round Mini Shoulder Bag (Corduroy) | UNIQLO UK

megletthesecond · 16/01/2024 07:30

I've washed my green one in the machine and it came out fine. Not washed the brown cord one yet. It's the only bag I've never had to swap between work and casual wear. My old trusty daily rucksacks (sweaty armpits, and back, faffing at tills....) are gathering dust.

I only keep spare contacts and a face mask in the little pockets. Mine holds a mini umbrella, small water bottle, purse, phone, keys, ear pods, lip balm, snack bar, tissues, pen, spare shopping bag and mini hand sanitiser.

ithinkthatmaybeimdreaming · 16/01/2024 07:37

User542452 · 15/01/2024 08:52

Keep lipbalms and paper stuff in the little pockets. Then get a mini makeup bag from Claires or Primark to keep other bits and bobs together in the main part of the bag (I use it for medicines).

That's what I do - I don't have a Uniqlo bag, but have a couple of small purse type things I keep my stuff in. Easier to fit in my bag, and easy to find things when I need them.

ChaoticBag · 16/01/2024 07:56

TippiHedrin · 15/01/2024 09:07

use something long (books, notebook, gloves) as a lengthways divider

Totally missed this - thank you, that's worth a try!

I’ve ordered a couple of the bags after reading this thread. I’ve been looking for a hands free bag I can sling on and head out on walks etc but I’m not a backpack fan.
