knickers (now that M&S's are shit)

I thought I'd found the holy-grai of knickers with the M&S flexifit shorts (high and low waisted). But they have gone baggy after just over a year and at that price (£16 for 3 pairs) I'm not willing to shell out for more.

Can anyone recommend an alternative? I like the shape of the M&S 'shorts' style and I'm all about comfort over style. I'm willing to pay a bit more for pants that will actually last longer than 15 months...

I was really disappointed by Sainsbury's - too thin and they ride up like bastards.

Just over £5 a pair isn't bad for 4 months wear each. I still buy them.

I'm still wearing M&S knickers I bought 13 years ago. A five-pack and they're all still in good working order.

That's what I call value for money. Four months for a fiver? You're joking.

Intimissi

Ophy83 · 08/01/2024 19:14

Fatface and white stuff both do very comfy undies

Rainsdropskeepfalling · 08/01/2024 19:19

Uniqlo.

Seamless wonders

Mynewnameis · 08/01/2024 19:22

They have changed them. Used to last forever now fall apart at the seams. Sometimes in one wear

M&S knickers are great but you need a size smaller than your actual clothes size.

Depends on your arse. I need a size bigger at least! Ample butt

Seconded. Always sized up, even in the far-off days when I was fit and toned.

Surprising find for me was Bon Marche!

bellocchild · 08/01/2024 19:46

John Lewis knickers are good, too.

Cavalierorwhat · 08/01/2024 21:02

Another for Uniqlo, don’t have many but definitely my favourite

JaceLancs · 08/01/2024 21:07

Sainsburys and sloggi here but the m
m s no vpl range still works for me

Doublerainbow23 · 08/01/2024 21:10

M&S used to last 10 years easily, now they get holes in within months. So annoying! I'd rather pay more for the old quality.

So I'm looking elsewhere too...

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 08/01/2024 21:12

Sloggi or Amazon

JenniferBooth · 08/01/2024 21:17

Another vote for Bonmarche

beetr00 · 08/01/2024 21:30

mixed responses re sainsbury, but definitely worth a try imho

I buy Sainsbury's multi pack shorts. They seem to last quite well, but occasionally I've had a dodgy pack which have obviously been made elsewhere. But at around £1 a pair I can replace them when they go saggy

BigBoysDontCry · 08/01/2024 21:45

Sloggi, I track them on amazon for bargains.

Snuggleyou · 08/01/2024 21:58

Sainsbury’s no VPL are a game changer for me £9 for 3 pairs. So comfy.

Mmmmpavlova · 08/01/2024 22:05

I do NOT recommend Stripe and Stare...I bought maybe 10 or 12 pairs a year ago (which cost a small fortune). At first I really liked them, but within a few months the material started to degrade - the colours are extremely faded so that they look about 15 years old; some pairs seemed to shrink and now give me wedgies; others seemed to become baggy and start falling down as I wear them, so that I have to go after them and hoik them back up every 15 minutes all bleeping day.

I have just ordered some Innersy off the back of this thread, am keeping my fingers crossed that they are the answer to my prayers... and am sincerely looking forward to binning my Stripe and Stare knickers!!

bendmeoverbackwards · 08/01/2024 22:34

Any recommendations for bikini or hi leg styles?

Flyhigher · 08/01/2024 22:34

Calvin klein ate the comfiest ever. It's the rooks royce of kinickers. Back away from M&S x

CountFucula · 08/01/2024 22:37

Innersy are brilliant

Nottogetapenny · 08/01/2024 22:49

Another vote for sloggi’s I got 3 pairs on Amazon for £11 (Black Friday deal). Really comfortable and very good fit.

ScandiGirl10 · 08/01/2024 22:50

Personally a huge fan of these from H&M - super comfortable, stretchy and seamless, almost like you’re not wearing anything - also cheap to replace when they go grey in the wash..
