Good colours

Ooh I didn't see that - thank you! I wonder if it's the same size! Will go and see

OftenOrange · 29/01/2024 16:33

Great scarf @faustina , I love how accessories like that refresh all our outfits .
The men’s version may be good too, but I can’t imagine many men wearing it styled like that….

Dee1224 · 29/01/2024 18:05

I’m trying, and failing, to imagine my DH rocking a bandana @OftenOrange 😿. I love those colours myself - will add it to my wish list, (for me!)

OftenOrange · 29/01/2024 18:11

@Dee1224 Nor mine😂
In fact I’d run a mile!

Dee1224 · 29/01/2024 18:13

😹😹@OftenOrange

faustina · 29/01/2024 20:27

You'd have to be a special sort of flamboyant to wear the yellow one. I could see a man wearing mine though maybe? Not as in the photo though. We all obviously don't know the right sort of man! 😁

I was in John Lewis today and they have some nice Kin things which aren't labelled Kin anymore (very annoying)

Thank you all for liking the scarf - I imagine it's going to earn its keep very quickly

ironingboredagain · 29/01/2024 21:10

I think that bandana would give off Steptoe and son vibes on most men.

Qweesh · 29/01/2024 21:36

There’s a guy who sometimes comes to a sewing class I go to, he’d be flamboyant enough to wear it!! Maybe I should suggest it …. 🤔

TosstTastic · 29/01/2024 21:55

Don't do it @Qweesh , long bandana with a sewing machine is a health & safety public information film waiting to happen.

Qweesh · 30/01/2024 07:45

@TosstTastic 😂 fair point. Perhaps not then ….

ScottishMouse · 31/01/2024 13:55

I asked this recently but don’t think anyone replied. Does anyone have experience of the cupro viscose fabric that the crinkle twill culottes are made from (I think there have been dresses made in similar in the past). I have always avoided it as it say dry clean only, but has anyone put it in a machine?
The culottes arrived today and they are weird but great. The wrap over effect makes them look more like a skirt, but a streamlined one. They also feel a little odd when walking as one leg is much wider than the other because of the wrap. But the fabric drapes so well and they look as great with a Breton or wooly jumper as they do with a smart shirt. I think they would be very useful. But….how practical/impractical is the fabric??

Countmeout · 31/01/2024 14:19

@ScottishMouse I have a skirt. I only wear it occasionally and have not washed it yet. Someone on here in a previous thread did post that they had washed this fabric. I am careful when I wear it as I do think it might mark with a greasy mark. I always change it when I come home.

@ScottishMouse I have a twill dress (not crinkle) which is 65% Cupro and 35% viscose - the label says dry clean only and I have washed it a lot on a 40 degree wash and line dried and it's been absolutely fine.

Countmeout · 31/01/2024 14:29

Sorry @ScottishMouse missed the bit about the crinkle. Mine is not crinkled but can look fairly wrinkled!

OP posts:
ScottishMouse · 31/01/2024 14:33

Thanks @Countmeout and @ironingboredagain. The crinkle is pretty subtle, bit like the crinkled dresses that came tied up, so I am not worried about keeping that in it. Good to know it washes ok though.
I do worry about how much wear I would get out of them if I am constantly worried about stains though. My life doesn’t really lend itself to be stain-free, and they are too £££ if they can’t be worn a lot. Will have a think.

Firesideknitting · 31/01/2024 14:52

Ahh my order arrived today, all for the keep, the free print is lovely, I’ll definitely keep and frame this one. The last one I framed but still haven’t hung it …

ScottishMouse · 31/01/2024 15:48

What did you order @Firesideknitting? I must be getting even fussier with age, because I am finding that everything I’m ordering lately is going back.
Alongside the crinkle twill culottes today, I got the striped alpaca jumper - terrible on me, tight in the upper arms but too a-line in the body - and the charcoal neat cashmere wool sweater - also going back as the body is a good fit but the sleeves are way longer and looser than the others I have in this style - and the vneck neat cardigan - also going back because it has clearly been worn already, it has a lot of pilling all over, is pulled out of shape and stinks of perfume! I was pretty shocked at the state of it actually, and messaged CS who were apologetic but not overly so.
Still mulling over the culottes, but I feel the fabric might be a deal breaker.

I’m slowly working through my wish list of the new items, don’t know if I’ll order the cabin check dress, but the skirt is lovely. I’ve a couple of jumpers I’ll order next week …then see what the summer drop brings

@Firesideknitting I’m glad that you like the skirt (I believe there is a top coming in the same)

@ScottishMouse I have been the same lately but it is better to be fussy than keep something you aren’t 100% with. That’s horrendous about the v neck cardigan 🫤

Dee1224 · 31/01/2024 16:20

@Firesideknitting - I like the look of the tank and the skirt. Have you tried them together? If so, could you post a picture? (Provided you don’t mind, obviously!) I think they would look great together!

Dee1224 · 31/01/2024 16:22

I also like that ‘free’ print - much nicer than the Moira F one, (which, to me, still looks like something an 8 year old could/would knock out - I am guessing that’s the point, but it’s lost on me!)

Countmeout · 31/01/2024 16:23

A top in the cabin check @Qweesh ? That sounds interesting.

I got the print too, ordered at last the Oxford shirt in white, managed to get the fit to suit and give the look I wanted under sweaters by sizing down x2. And another wee crinkle scarf which are so useful, coming into warmer weather.

Waiting impatiently for the next drop.

I am trying to convince myself that I need a weekend in Somerset just so I can go to SM🙀. I have also been adding to my Toast wish list as I can’t move off the settee, as I have a large husky trying to sit on my lap! (He’s scared of the hoover, which my DH has unexpectedly whisked out, and is using upstairs!)

ScottishMouse · 31/01/2024 16:31

Nice choices @Firesideknitting. I also think the skirt and tank would look lovely together @Dee1224
