@Qweesh yup, it is pretty shocking that someone would send knitwear back that has been worn (and clearly not just worn once either). If I had bought it second hand, I would have been disappointed by the condition!

Qweesh · 31/01/2024 16:42

@Countmeout Yes! But I have no idea what to expect, only that it’s Cabin Check.

Firesideknitting · 31/01/2024 16:43

@Qweesh @Dee1224 @ScottishMouse , I’d bought them to wear together, so great minds and all that,

Qweesh · 31/01/2024 16:43

@ScottishMouse the last time I complained about something being worn (there was sand in the pockets of a denim dress), they gave me a 15% off code. I think it was by chat though, maybe worth a try?

ScottishMouse · 31/01/2024 16:45

It was by chat that I contact them @Qweesh. They seemed slightly unbothered really. Said I would return it and that was that. They are not checking things very carefully before sending out, as it was so very obvious immediately on opening the parcel that it wasn’t new.

Qweesh · 31/01/2024 16:48

@Firesideknitting how do you find the sizing on the skirt? I noticed you’d bought Large from your screenshot. I was recommended Large for the secateur skirt which was spot on, but we know Toast is inconsistent. Do you mind me asking what dress size you would wear? I bought the Cabin Check dress in the 18 and it fits well.

Qweesh · 31/01/2024 16:53

@ScottishMouse pfft. That’s appalling.

I’ve not noticed a huge difference in sizing from old to new, I wear a 12/14, so I buy either or a large, I don’t like especially fitted, but the xl is too big… the neat dresses I have to buy a 16 due to boobs … but other than that all good…

Dee1224 · 31/01/2024 16:57

I think CS at Toast is not what it was @ScottishMouse - when I complained about the condition of the drawstring dress I tried in the sale, (and no more in stock), they weren’t interested. Last year I am pretty sure they would have offered a reduction.

Re: QC - my sister ordered a full price gown last week. When it came, it had clearly been worn🙀

Qweesh · 31/01/2024 17:00

@Firesideknitting thank you. I have a stomach that needs hiding working on

You and me both …

OftenOrange · 31/01/2024 17:12

@ScottishMouse @Countmeout My cupro skirt is the long tiered one , came in rust and green, I washed it by hand and once ironed it regains the lovely fluid texture .
I don’t have it here to check composition or washing instructions .
I think I got grease on it which became very faint after a wash, but it doesn’t bother me at all on a long skir , whereas if it were a top it would be a disaster !

OftenOrange · 31/01/2024 17:16

CS haven’t offered a discount on the wonky pleat trousers, but they have found another pair which I’m hoping will be better.

I agree that so many pieces get posted out that should never have been considered fit for purpose .Surely anyone could doa better job of inspecting returned goods ?

ScottishMouse · 31/01/2024 17:28

Thanks @OftenOrange. I’m not sure I have ever hand washed anything. I just cannot be bothered with the faff. If it can’t go in a machine, it does not belong in my life!

Firesideknitting · 01/02/2024 08:57

Has anyone had the kindred email yet ?? I noticed I’d got mine on 31st last year ..

Firesideknitting · 01/02/2024 10:13

Snowyowl78 · 01/02/2024 09:08

@Firesideknitting not me, is that the one confirming you still have kindred?

I’ve noticed these jackets have had a revamp in pics- be interested to know what the white waistcoat thing underneath is! Something new I think? https://www.toa.st/collections/womens-coats-jackets/products/garment-dyed-cotton-linen-neat-jacket-slate

Yes, I assume I’ve not got it this year unless the date has been pushed back

ScottishMouse · 01/02/2024 12:03

I also got that email on the 31st last year and have got nothing so far this year. ☹️

MiracleToast · 01/02/2024 13:12

@Firesideknitting @ScottishMouse I got intrigued myself from your post and went into my account. I clicked post pass and can see it’s confirmed until 2025 but I haven’t had an email or anything. Maybe see if yours has been updated too?

whinsome · 01/02/2024 13:24

Checked mine too after your post @MiracleToast and it’s been renewed. Really thought they might boot me off this year as I’ve kept so few purchases! Had been bracing myself, telling myself I could cope without it. And indeed it might even be good for me … but relieved it’s been extended! 😆😅

ScottishMouse · 01/02/2024 13:36

Oh yes, mine too. Thanks @MiracleToast

MiracleToast · 01/02/2024 13:51

@whinsome @ScottishMouse woohoo!

ironingboredagain · 01/02/2024 13:53

Can I ask how you know if you're Kindred? If I need to ask does that mean I'm not in the hallowed circle?

Countmeout · 01/02/2024 14:07

Thanks for that @MiracleToast I can see mine too.

That waistcoat looks interesting @Snowyowl78 .

I received an email and a postcard out of the blue last summer to welcome me as a Kindred member (having spent far too much money with Toast over the years).
