Thanks @lordloveadog, I’m going to try it. I think I hesitated as people mentioned the cashmere pilling a lot, and I have no idea how to deal confidently with pills, so have tried to avoid it as much as possible. But it really looks like a sweater that could be worn with most things. And I really love that brown colour too, but missed out on my size. Just hope the dark navy is not too dark in shade.

ScottishMouse · 15/01/2024 19:53

🤣 @AFingerofFudge I think I am just really stretching it to find something else to order.

MiracleToast · 15/01/2024 19:57

@PretLea I have this in the navy, I don’t think it’s that dark at all, I’d say it’s true navy if that’s such a thing. I actually have only worn it once as I was worried about the pilling and am keeping it for a ‘nice’ jumper. It’s lovely, quite short. I’m 5’9 size 10 (old toast size 8) and got the medium.

MiracleToast · 15/01/2024 19:58

I went back in and got one final sale purchase—the stoneware watering can—which I had in my wish list and with the final reduction couldn’t resist. Has anyone got or seen this?

Stoic123 · 15/01/2024 20:45

@MiracleToast - I don't but was admiring it earlier. Would have been tempted but I don't need one.

It is at this stage of the sale that I find myself starting to think that a seagrass decanter is all that I've ever dreamed of....

PretLea · 15/01/2024 21:01

Thanks @MiracleToast, and good to know it’s not as dark as I expected. I’ve popped through my order and will report back once it’s arrived. I’m hoping to wear it more as an every day sweater, so will have to see how I can manage the pilling. Will just have to hope it more or less settles eventually.

faustina · 15/01/2024 21:09

@Stoic123 😂

MiracleToast · 15/01/2024 21:31

@Stoic123 yes I have had similar feelings toward the decanter 🫠

@PretLea I think you will love it, I’m certain mine will get more wear when I’m back to work

lordloveadog · 15/01/2024 21:45

I have a little battery shaver which deals neatly and painlessly with any piling. Think was from John Lewis or Lakeland

Anyone else mourning the demise of Fenwicks in Bond Street?
It’s closing on 9th February and apparently the Clearance Sale quite a thing.
I’m so sad, often meet friends there for a browse and lunch, but like many I had stopped buying much from there in recent times.

I love Fenwicks - it's always an oasis of calm after the hassle of Oxford Street (which may, of course, be why it's closing) - and will sadly miss it.

MrsCat1 · 16/01/2024 10:28

Morning everyone. A brief mention of some very good customer service from Toast. I contacted the online chat yesterday asking if the patch pocket Daisy print shirt in blue was going to be re-stocked. I was told no but given a list of six shops that had it in stock. Contacted the Richmond store who were lovely and it has just arrived via DPD. Nice to be able to report on great service.

Snowyowl78 · 16/01/2024 10:29

I got some new stuff today. The ‘waistcoat’ dress works great as a normal dress for me as I am short, it’s just below knee. It’s not massive, bit tight on the chest, so I will undo the top button otherwise it’s a bit snug on the armpits and I think a bigger size would be too big everywhere else. Glad not to have to take a dress up! The washed indigo jersey dress and jumpsuit,I am not sure works as well as the black versions. I might hold out for the Olive dress instead. I am also really hoping they will do a jumpsuit in that olive crinkle material!

Snowyowl78 · 16/01/2024 10:30

Forgot to mention I asked on the chat and they say there will be more new stuff in 2 weeks!

ScottishMouse · 16/01/2024 10:55

Still browsing the dregs of the sale here. Has anyone got or tried this jacket? One of the reviews says oversized but the model is wearing S and it doesn’t look overly big on her so the remaining M might work for me. But the colour might be both impractical and draining on me.

MiracleToast · 16/01/2024 11:13

I don’t have it and haven’t tried it @ScottishMouse but I think it looks beautiful and warm and comfortable

Dee1224 · 16/01/2024 11:22

Hi all, I spoke to Chat today about a couple of things- the sale is ending 25/1 according to the person I asked.

I am keeping the Maeve and sending the drawstring and Selma back. Had a wobbly on the drawstring as it looked really good with a Breton tee, but DH helpfully took a picture of the back and it didn’t look good enough to drop £95 on it!

ScottishMouse · 16/01/2024 12:04

It does, doesn’t it @MiracleToast !

MiracleToast · 16/01/2024 12:27

@ScottishMouse especially with that gorgeous roll neck underneath—also on my wish list

faustina · 16/01/2024 12:57

@ScottishMouse - that does look lovely, and the roll neck. I wish I could wear roll necks but I just end up pulling them down the whole time. I think I tried a different jacket in pebble last year and it was quite a nice colour

They have finally done a little restock of the sale and I managed to find the last pair of trousers I had my eye on (cotton linen canvas wide leg). I think I admired them on several of you on here and decided they'd be too long, but much in the same spirit as @Stoic123 with her seagrass decanter, I need to make double sure 😁

Nanasueathome · 16/01/2024 13:23

The tie waist geometric print dress that I coveted …and finally bought..has been reduced further
i paid £115 and it’s now £90
Been on to toast chat and they’ve refunded the £25
im well pleased now

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 16/01/2024 13:35

I’ve had another quick look through the sale but there’s nothing I want. I was puzzled to find some items of homeware show up if I look through everything but not on the actual Homeware tab.

Looking forward to some more new items.

I like the look of that jacket @ScottishMouse , it does have rather strange instructions for cleaning though.

lordloveadog · 16/01/2024 13:47

@PretLea no, if you Google Philips fabric shaver, it's more like that

ScottishMouse · 16/01/2024 13:52

Ah rats @Theteapotsbrokenspout , I just ordered it and only then saw your post. Never bothered to read the washing instructions. I wonder why no washing, I guess because of the wadding. I don’t do dry cleaning. Maybe spot cleaning would suffice for a jacket, but in this colour perhaps not.
Oh well, I will see what I think when it arrives. I’ve also ordered the mohair fairisle sweater, which I have been admiring since it appeared and had foolishly hoped might hit the sale. I’m worried it might sell out before it gets to the next sale as it has so many positive reviews. Does anyone have it?

MiracleToast · 16/01/2024 14:53

@MrsCat1 @Nanasueathome and this is why I love toast 🫶🏽
