@neveradullmoment99 meant to say, I’m wearing it today with a Seasalt knitted vest and it looks v nice 👍

alliscalm · 14/01/2024 18:03

Has anyone had this issue with refunds? Just after Christmas I ordered a £90 dress using a £75 gift card and paid the difference plus £14 premium delivery to where I was staying in Wales. I got an email very promptly saying that premium delivery was not available in the area so i would be refunded the £14. Last week I chased up the refund and CS have written back to say it was paid back to the gift card, sorry for not making it clear at the time. But I binned the gift card and I just think it’s odd to not give me the money back. Still waiting for a reply from Toast.

PretLea · 14/01/2024 18:58

Lovely items @No1Mousie. I’ve also had my eye on that yellowish striped mulmul shirt with the coloured accents. It actually seems like it might be a really useful addition to my wardrobe.

Countmeout · 14/01/2024 19:21

@alliscalm I have not yet any experience of this but I did wonder what happened when a refund was given to a gift card which was used in part payment. I imagine somewhere in the t and c’s it says the refund will go to the gift card first .

@No1Mousie great sales haul. How did you get on with the loafers ?

Countmeout · 14/01/2024 19:23

For clarity I have used a gift card as a part payment and wondered if I required a refund for the item would they put the whole amount back on the gift card rather than splitting it to the original payment method. However surely they know the number of your gift card and can use it in another transaction.

@PretLea it was on my saved list for ages! The blue selvedge on the cuffs and hem is just 👌and the sleeves sit nicely.

@Noodle421 they are BEAUTIFUL. I had a brief try on this morning - and the heel fits beautifully. Only neg was that did look a bit too chunky on my little hooves this morning so I need to try them on with some trews and dresses to get a sense of how they look properly.

Thanks @Countmeout I'm sure you’re right about the ts and cs and I guess they will give me the number of the card. It never occurred to me that this would happen. Obviously £14 is not a big amount so I’m not too bothered though but it’s worth knowing for the future.

Last purchase from the sale
for me … the silk linen shirt … im
hop it’s got a nice drape, I also placed a few pairs of the linen trousers in the order too, so unless anything amazing pops up in new drops, I’m good for a while …

AFingerofFudge · 15/01/2024 08:10

I'd love them to take the sale away- I don't seem to be able to resist "trying" other things!! Have just ordered a shirt and a pair of socks Blush

Noodle421 · 15/01/2024 08:56

@No1Mousie I agree, they are beautiful ! I’ve tried them on with dresses and trousers and I think they look quite neat despite their chunky style. I’m pleased I didn’t size up, they are a perfect fit.

Noodle421 · 15/01/2024 09:06

I’m very pleased with my sale haul. I’ve waited ages for them:

Gingham pin tuck shirt ( much nicer in real life)
Batik skirt (sublime)
Sturlini Loafers ( Wow 🤩)
Chambray tiered dress ( felt very comfortable and easy, great with my Birkenstocks for summer and fabulous price).

Love seeing all your pics and hearing about all the sales successes. I’m pleased nothing grabbed me in the new drop so far… except perhaps the Freya dress.

Firesideknitting · 15/01/2024 09:53

Oh goodness, so my refund via PayPal has failed !! So now I have to try to get hold of customer support and work out a way to resolve this

applecatchers36 · 15/01/2024 12:18

Firesideknitting that's awful! wonder where it's fallen down at PayPal or Toast HQ?

Countmeout · 15/01/2024 13:30

@Firesideknitting do you recall a while back someone had a problem and it was because they had insufficient funds in PayPal for the refunds. Could this be the reason?

OP posts:
Dee1224 · 15/01/2024 14:05

@Countmeout - I think it was @Trinitybean who had the PP refund problem because Toast hadn’t got the funds with PayPal!

I hope you get it sorted @Firesideknitting .

Firesideknitting · 15/01/2024 14:14

I spoke to someone this morning, they’ve d arranged a bank transfer, I’m not sure who the issue was with, but assumption tells me the swift move to bank transfer says it’s a ‘toast’ issue

Dee1224 · 15/01/2024 14:16

I think you are right @Firesideknitting - glad it’s been resolved!

Countmeout · 15/01/2024 16:17

Final reductions for anyone still with the stamina.

OP posts:
faustina · 15/01/2024 16:55

@Countmeout - they haven't restocked though! One more pair of trousers I want to try on (possibly two). Maybe very early tomorrow morning they'll turn on the restock switch. My salt bowl has been reduced to an absolute bargain (relatively speaking) - if anyone needs one I really recommend it!

OftenOrange · 15/01/2024 17:29

Just received the last (?) parcel.
Workwear trousers in ochre , the ones I disliked and now love , those with buttons down the front, are a success and so is the wool tank , pale oatmeal with soft red and pale blue horizontal zigzags.
Both were about £60 and both will be useful throughout the Winter and Spring .
A few of my sale buys will get little wear , crepe dresses which are only useful for about 2 months of the year, but the joy factor compensates.

Anyone else mourning the demise of Fenwicks in Bond Street?
It’s closing on 9th February and apparently the Clearance Sale quite a thing.
I’m so sad, often meet friends there for a browse and lunch, but like many I had stopped buying much from there in recent times.

AFingerofFudge · 15/01/2024 17:45

Ha!! @ScottishMouse I was just about to say I love this from the men's sale (sorry can't do a link) and a bargain (in Toast terms)! at £90 from £235. But obvs the shape might be off for me?

@PretLea I have that mariner jumper in brown. Have worn it a few times and not noticed piling, not yet anyway. It's beautiful.
