I spotted those tan pumps too @Alpacasoft. I love them.

I have 2 similar pairs.
I love a pump 😂

ScottishMouse · 13/01/2024 18:09

@Alpacasoft what is the sizing like on the crinkle skirt? Is the waistband tight? I love the green one and the stripe one in the new drop.

No But I'm small waisted ...

Noeggsontoast · 13/01/2024 18:33

@Dee1224 both dresses look good but they both have different purposes I feel so that's a difficult choice between them. I bought the Bryn two fabric dress when it was first released - it's my favourite dress of those I have with the tie neck. I had to size down in this dress.

@Alpacasoft I saw those tan pumps too and think they look so soft and comfy. I always have a pair of tan pumps in my collection so hopefully they'll be fully revealed soon.

My final sale item arrived this morning - the alpaca collared grass green sweater. The colour is a delight and the shape and style is lovely.

Countmeout · 13/01/2024 18:48

@Firesideknitting how did you find the sizing on the gingham trousers?

I agree @OftenOrange it is difficult to find something quite like Toast . If you are in store could you please possibly check the sizing of the waxed anorak and also if the Cumin is very dark.
I also like this Bleu de Chauffe bag. When I compare it to my Vive La Difference one it seems by their measurements it’s even tinier but the photo doesn’t seem that might be so. Please could you have a look. Has anyone else seen it in real life?

I’ve always bought a 14 or a large, I’m a 12/14, the sizing is still good for me … my niece is 6ft and a size 12, they also fit her well ..
some of toast old sizing trousers I had to get a 12 in as the 14 was huge… anything neat fit I have to size up as I’ve crazy boobs

FiddleFigs · 13/01/2024 18:57

On the subject of tan pumps, there’s a nice pair in the Seasalt sale - slightly square toe shape. Those ones on Toast look lovely!

Dee1224 · 13/01/2024 19:00

Thanks @Noeggsontoast - you are right, they are so different and I don’t ‘need’ either, so that doesn’t make it any easier! Helpful info re: Bryn. It’s a lovely dress.

That’s a lovely bag @Countmeout .

Dee1224 · 13/01/2024 17:27

Thanks for the feedback @OftenOrange and @MrsRadichio

My DH says pretty much exactly the same as yours @OftenOrange and has similar taste in women’s clothing. This from a man who wears huge tracksuit bottoms and his ‘I love my husky’ hoodie day in day out. (Tbf, the hoodie is my fault- a joke Xmas present that backfired on me spectacularly as he now won’t take it off🙀).

I am jealous of your Donegal coatigan - was tempted, but I have one from the pop up that I rarely wear, so seemed silly.

How are you getting on with the Bryn? Is it tts? It was on my list but in the Navigation Bryn I needed a Small, but it seemed as if I’d need a Medium in the two tone.

Edited

I got the Bryn in the yellow floral pattern. It was far too small for me over the bust. I would stick to my normal size. Maybe it was that particular dress.

Dee1224 · 13/01/2024 19:11

That makes sense @neveradullmoment99 as I noticed the model was wearing S in the yellow and normally they are in XS and still look swamped!

Stoic123 · 13/01/2024 19:49

@Dee1224 - had a good look at the drawstring dress. I can't guarentee as not washed- but I don't anticipate issues maintaining the pleat. I have an iron but it emerges twice a year and don't expect to need it here. I'll hang this dress up to dry till slightly damp (or tumble in an emergency) and shape/finish drying flat as needed. I have the same material in a pinafore dressand it's really easy to manage/very forgiving.

Stoic123 · 13/01/2024 19:49

OftenOrange · 13/01/2024 16:52

@Dee1224 Glad someone else has a DH who doesn’t love Toast !
I’d be dressed in pastel florals if I followed DH taste ; whatever I buy he says ‘ not bad but it’s a bit dark ‘ .
I do like both dresses but find it hard to pick between them as they’re so different . I like the Selma, it gives a low key chic vibe , and the Maeve a more extrovert one , to my eye.
I love the Maeve fabric and also have the skirt from the previous sale . I’d love to know @Stoic123 how you pair it . It works with neutrals in the ecru spectrum , and looks. OK with a blue chambray blouse , but I think I’m going to find it hard to be more creative coming as I do from a generation who used to shop for shoes that exactly match a certain shade in an outfit ,ugh!

Not me with the Maeve skirt I'm afraid - think @Theteapotsbrokenspout ?

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 13/01/2024 19:50

I tried on the not crinkle jumpsuit and I now have serious doubts about it. Without the crinkles I don’t like it at all, and the legs are ridiculously wide. So even if I can buy a properly crinkled one I would need to be sure I can get it back the same every time I wash it.

I think I must just return, although I shall probably put one of my notes in expressing disappointment at the lack of crinkles.

Dee1224 · 13/01/2024 19:56

Thanks @Stoic123

Stoic123 · 13/01/2024 20:04

DH/DP preference vs Toast aesthetic.... 1950s housewife vs mushroom dress 😀

PS - wearing mushroom dress today (with 1970s Shetland jumper)

@ScottishMouse
I measured the black crinkle skirt as was putting laundry away.
Waist band laid flat 14 inches in the medium
16 stretched out fully
But it didn't look as nice tbh

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 13/01/2024 20:11

I’ve got the Maeve skirt @OftenOrange . I remember having a discussion several threads ago about what to pair it with.

I bought it full price and wore it over the summer with various tees in the ecru range, also a brown Emma, and I bought a teal coloured cotton tank from Seasalt that goes really well with it. I also have the thorn green shirt from an earlier toast collection that looks good with it as a lightweight jacket.

No1Mousie · 13/01/2024 20:20

@Dee1224 I think the Maeve looks just lovely on you.

Dee1224 · 13/01/2024 20:28

Oh, thanks @No1Mousie !

ScottishMouse · 13/01/2024 20:30

Thanks @Alpacasoft , that’s super useful. My waist (or lack thereof) is often a problem for me.

Amazon Gay GIF by Saltburn

WTF with the Giphy thing, not my post !

@Theteapotsbrokenspout Thank you for those ideas, I do already have the Thorn and Chalk easy t shirts .so that’s a start.
I look at some of the ‘influencers’ and admire the casual way they seem to pair seemingly incongruous pieces to great effect. , a question of attitude maybe , but I’m not very good at that.

@Countmeout I’ll certainly look out for the anorak and the Bleu de Chauffe bag , if Shoreditch don’t have them my nearer branch may do.

@Dee1224 I haven’t broken out the 2 fabric Bryn yet , don’t expect to until the weather warms up , a lot !
Size wise I took the same size in that and the Radicchio / Citrus yellow ( which I returned) which for me was at the smaller end of my Toast size spectrum.
I hated the 2 fabric Bryn on first sight, but adore it now….,!
As for the Olive Donegal, it’s proving to be a workhorse both in and out of the house, not very fetching on me but really useful.

lordloveadog · 13/01/2024 21:26

Another vote for the Maeve on Dee!

Dee1224 · 13/01/2024 22:41

Thanks @lordloveadog !
Thanks for the Bryn info @OftenOrange

mizu · 14/01/2024 10:18

@OftenOrange oh but I did love Saltburn Grin

Alpacasoft · 14/01/2024 10:26

😳erm @OftenOrange have you been hacked?

Just to try and tempt you further@ScottishMouse the fabric of the black crinkle skirt is lovely.
Outer layer is gauzy and very light.
The check lining sort of peeks through
